NorCal INSTALL! v.2 - August, 28th (We HitConfirm Everything!)

Also, the Dacidbro BBGatheringQ could possibly happen. I would just have to find a free date (which would probably be after this weekend) and get confirmation.

I'd suggest looking for other options first

Honestly the only I suggested it is cause we're cutting it really close on time and I happened to remember you bringing that up before EVO...I don't have the slightest clue as to where else we could do this.

Actually that made me wonder, assuming we couldn't get any place for the 15th or that weekend, would people even want to travel the following weekend just for this little qualifier thingy when the BIG event is very next weekend in Berkeley?? Might be too much in the way of travel for some...Shit we don't really have any other options and it would be kinda sudden to pin a possibly large gathering at Dacid's house so kinda rude at this point...Eh whatever, I'm just throwing ideas out, someone else figure it out, I'm going rage bowling...

Honestly is there even going to be a 5v5 at Norcall install? If I'm correct, it's supposed to be Norcal V Socal, but Socal doesn't seem to be coming??

5v5 in GG, i play 5 random characters vs. dacidbro, he picks his best.

WHAT YOU GOT

If zong's going it will happen then. Hype the rest of socal, aight zonger

And Koogy, I'll take you up on that. We have to stream it, cause that'll be hype as fuck.

If you need a filler for WC3, I'm down. I played that game years ago, badly.

Best attribute; I can mindlessly take instructions and know how to micro

So the more I look at this, the more it looks feasible that I can go. Since I'm practically driving 6+ hours one way from Socal already...

I'm willing to pick up people in Socal if they want to tag along.

I'm willing to pick up people in Socal if they want to tag along.

I'm willing to pick up people in Socal if they want to tag along.

I already have 1 person that's potentially coming so I have at least 3 empty seats. I'm willing to drive as far down south as the A.I. area to pick people up, and then Initial D'ing all the way up to the bay. As long as I've seen/met you once then you're instantly eligible to hop on -- that's my offer. If nobody wants to come then that's cool too.

Edit: And since people are already asking, is anyone in Norcal willing to let me (and potentially 4 really cool unknown people) crash at their place? Lawl.

I know some people are gonna use the hotel across from Eudomania as housing for the weekend...Hit them up and see if you can bargain with them. Its $70 for the night so if you only need one night, ~$15 for 4 people and the guy who rented the room, cramped as shit though...Other than that...I dunno.

Okay, guys. LISTEN UP.

First, I just talked to Haunts. For the streaming setup, we will require ONE CRT with COMPONENT INPUTS. This single CRT will be used for Blazblue CS, MB:AA, and GG:AC when their respective times to be streamed will come up.

NEXT. The Norcal Install Poster will be done by TONIGHT.

Here is what it looks like so far (non-high res):

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/4489/norcalinstallfinal.jpg

If you are generous enough to print the poster in COLOR in whatever size (standard piece of paper is fine, I guess) Please tell me... as this does get expensive. I need volunteers to tell me if they are down to take a poster and put it at ideal locations to spread the news that Norcal Install is happening.

If you volunteer, tell me your e-mail, so I can send you the high-res version. Thank you.

Ideal locations:

1) Eudemonia (yes. they NEED to have the Norcal install poster in there before the event).

2) SVGL (need permission; ask staff)

3) MGL (need permission; ask staff)

4) Drom's Comics and Cards (I'm doing this personally).

5) ???

6) Profit!

If there are any places where a poster would garner a lot of interest and players, please tell me by noon tomorrow. The poster will be supplemented by a small sheet of paper giving the name of the games at Norcal Install + the fees + the times they start. We couldn't include all the info onto the poster because it would... well... it would look god awful.

Edit: Printing this poster in Poster size will be way too expensive. So just print it out small at wherever as long as the quality is still there. 11x18 would be 3 dollars I believe.

Is pre-reg mandatory? If so, I think it needs to be put on the poster somehow

This information will be provided on the supplementary note.

It will pretty much be this:

1) Poster

2) Supplemnetary note with tournament time, games, and pre-registration costs and on-site registration costs.

Well.. If pre-reg is mandatory, it would be potentially possible to miss it if it's not on the main one. How important is pre-reg? I would hate for it to be possible for people to show up to get turned down.

Pre-Registration is in no way mandatory. I thought it was somewhat implied since you could register on-site, but I will be sure to include this in the supplementary note.

I think your concern is something around the lines of the Fuddrucker's rule, and that in the past, it had to cap at 128 people playing a tourney. I don't expect there to be 128 people, in ONE game, but if there are, WOW. THAT'S GOOD.

No, but if you want to save $2, then you might as well pre-reg. The reason why I'm doing this is because the brackets will already be made PRIOR to the tournament. That way the T.O. Hosts can just focus on the brackets. If anybody decides to do a last minute registration, we can put them in some byes slots. So put it this way, would you like to participate in a tournament two hours late or start ASAP and end ON TIME?

btw, that's a HYPE poster coopa.

Lmao. We should be fine then. I have no other concerns, the poster looks amazing. ^_^

Wait; people who pay 2 dollars get a bye in the first round? :8/:

Oh, I get it. Like, they get put against seeded people who had a bye.

No. In every NCI tournament we hosted, we ended up giving over 10 people byes. It wasn't because they were seeded, but we didn't have enough people. The same thing will apply here. People who sign up late will have to make do with the brackets. We'll try to balance it as much as possible, but the reality is that pre-reg will help us to make a fair n' square bracket. Last minute registration will only put you at a disadvantage since you'll probably lose your seeding and byes. So, yeah, if you decide to be a douchebag and not pre-register, then you're very likely to play against Dacid first round. I'M SURE THAT WOULD BE FUN! :3
