NorCal INSTALL! v.2 - August, 28th (We HitConfirm Everything!)

How early is "early" for the all day parking pass?

First come first serve. The parking lot that's nearest to EU only has about 30 spots. I plan on leaving at 7am and arriving there at 8am. If that lot is full, then the next best alternative is to park in the BART parking lot.

I'll hang out with SoCal crew and Haunts until the LAN center opens...unless they're all sound asleep.

Edit: Since I managed to capture people's attention with the parking situation, I will provide you all with a comprehensive Berkeley parking for Dummies guide!

Berkeley Parking for Dummies

Solution 1: Local Parking

Rates are $1.50 per hour

Taken straight from ICSI,

Parking in Downtown Berkeley can be tricky, and usually requires either a little exploring, or a little money. All the on-street parking in ICSI's immediate vicinity is metered, and therefore is time-limited. This may or may not be the ideal choice for you when attending meetings here.

Solution 2: All Day Parking Garage

This is the most ideal solution for people who don't like to walk from faraway lands.

All day parking garages are more expensive, but they are less than 0.1 miles from the EU. Here's the rates:

Berkeley Way Lot (Six-hour limit)

Berkeley Way at Shattuck (one block north of University)

*Open 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM

*1 hr - $1.50

*2 hr - $3

*3 hr - $5.50

*4 hr - $8

*5 hr - $10.50

*6 hr - $13

Center Street Garage

2025 Center Street (between Milvia and Shattuck)

*Open 5:15 AM - midnight

*1 hr - $1

*2 hr - $3

*3 hr - $6

*4 hr - $10

*5+ hr - $15

Allston Way Garage

2061 Allston Way (between Milvia and Shattuck)

*Open 6:00 AM to midnight

*$2.50 per hour, $14 maximum

Oxford Street Lot (Attended lot)

Oxford Street between Allston and Kittredge

*Open 8:00 AM - midnight

*1 hr - $1

*2 hr - $3

*3 hr - $6

*4 hr - $10

*5+ hr - $15

Solution 3: BART

Rates: $1 + $3.50 for roundtrip ticket

You can park at any BART station and take a round trip to Berkeley. OR you could park at the Berkeley BART station which isn't that far from EU (0.4 miles). The last train leaves at midnight.

Taken from the ICSI,

Another option is to park at the North Berkeley BART station at 1750 Sacramento Street. Parking at the BART station is $1 for the entire day, and a round-trip ticket between the stations is another $3.50. From the North Berkeley station, you'll want to board either a Fremont train or a San Francisco train and get off at the next stop, Downtown Berkeley. You'll take a Richmond train for the return trip. Trains run every seven to eight minutes during business hours, and transit time is only three minutes.

Solution 4: Free Local Parking

Rates: Free, but extremely limited and littered with Parking Officers

This is the last solution you have to solve your parking problems. You can park in a - free - time limited parking zone. Most of them limit you to one hours/two hours. I used to go to grad school here, and I would have to get out of class (sometimes midterms) to re-park my car in a different location. Not fun, but it's a solution.

Key:

Blue: Free Local Parking (Time Limited)

Orange: Parking Garages

Brown: Meter Parking

Feel free to mash it out at our place if you find yourself in the cold streets of Downtown Berkeley at that ungodly hour TaoFTW. :V

$3 Stream + Venue Fee

The $3 will be towards payment for the venue and to Iplaywinner stream. This does NOT entitle you use of ANY Eudemonia equipment whatsoever. Please be respectful to Dean and the Eudemonia staff. He's already been gracious enough to set aside space for the tournament.

You are, however, more than welcome to pay to play on his setups. Ginseng and I are in the works of making a side-tournament SC2 exhibition.

So I just changed my move-in date to the weekend of the 21st, meaning...

If I can get a ride with Scott I can do this!

This means, 3 dollars + what the pre-reg says it costs for entries, and we can use all of our equipment all day in the place?

$8 TOTAL for pre-reg and ONE tournament entry. This is just to tell you guys what the $3 goes for AND what it does not entitle you to do. You can't say, "HEY WE NEED A SETUP! HEY LET'S USE ONE OF THE SPARE EUDEMONIA LCDs CAUSE NOBODY IS USING IT!"

We're just renting out the place and these are the stipulations for using it:

- No food

- No foul language

- No using EU equipment, but you can pay to use it.

So I just changed my move-in date to the weekend of the 21st, meaning...

Time to pre-reg. :3

Ah, okay. So 8 gets you into one tournament. Honestly I am still very confused as to how the stream fee works.

We pay Haunts for the stream. In exchange, we use IPW name to help market our tournament in places that we won't be able to (for e.g., our tournament is now Sticki'd on SRK). I say that's fair.

Time for that pre-reg!

Edit: To Anyone Bringing Setups for NCI or hosting brackets/tournaments;

You are required to be at the tournament no later than 10am! If you cannot arrive at the appointed time, then call me! >:[

Ahh. So 8 dollars to Eudemonia for pre-reg (Is pot money included there?), then 3 dollars to Haunts and we're set. Just trying to figure out all of the fees and stipulations and get them extremely clear before anyone gets there and is confused :v:

Seems very reasonable.

$3 for Haunts and Dean. $5 to MAKE IT RAAIIIIIIIIINNN...in the pot.

Oh, what? It's 8 dollars total entry? That's really really good. I feel like I am missing something though :vbang:

You're right, I'm charging you $20 for giving me a headache.

There is now a NorCal INSTALL flyer up at StarBase Arcade in San Rafael.

Thank you, Rin.

To everyone else who volunteered, I've sent you the high res version of the norcal install poster.

I now need someone to put a poster in SVGL and MGL. Any offers?

Edit:

Remember, the poster MUST come with a supplementary note.

In the supplementary note, all you have to do is include the name of the games and their times. Pretty much just copy paste the first post of this thread and put it into MS Word and Print. If you are that lazy:

Blazblue: Continuum Shift (PS3 Only)

Hosted by: Aginor and SpiritJuice(?)

12:00 pm Singles

6:00 pm 3v3 NorCal vs. SoCal Exhibition

Guilty Gear: Accent Core (PS2 Only)

Hosted by: Qwerty and KatanaDash

2:00 pm Singles

7:00 pm 3v3 NorCal vs. SoCal Exhibition

Melty Blood: Actress Again (PS2 Only)

Poster Stuff

I'll see if SVGL can hold one.

At this rate, the ones who are interested should inpromptu play on cabinet at SVGL or something. Unless said interested person wants Makoto or Mu-12...

Otherwise it's probably looking like Dacid, Dabbit, and Goryus... SVGL Special :v:

Too bad the decision isn't based on the 3 who most frequent SVGL...I'd be team captain if that were the case:keke:

Apparently it was missed the first time so I'll try again: I don't want to be on the 3v3. I would much prefer someone else took that spot.

I vote for this. First, they're iconic for NorCal Blazblue, and I'm sure they're itching for a rematch after SBO Quals. Also good footage comes from them.

Only thing is how is Dacid gonna commentate if he's playing lol.
