Michi Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 YES, YESS. KAZUMAAAAA. <3 <3 THANK YOU AGAIN. Still looking for pictures from the novel in order to post 'em here. Or zepp.
Manta Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Funny, it's surprisingly similar to how Blazen depicts Hazama minus Terumi.
Suzaku Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) So basically Kazuma was Crazy LSD Happy Sunshine Hazama without Terumi inside him. Actually, seems he was a quiet, wimpy bookworm that kept to himself, and apparantly made other people uncomfortable. :/ Edit: Found a review, but it's not very in-depth. Still gives an idea of how the book progresses. To summarize it... The book's purpose is to reveal the origins of Hazama. It begins at the Magic Guild not long before the events of Phase 0, with Caelica, Trinity, and Nine as students. An amnesiac student, Kazuma Kval, is the protagonist, and things start getting strange when he meets a mysterious man named Yuuki Terumi. The outcome of the book is basically known from the start, but it was unexpected to see the book actually take place before Phase 0. It's apparantly pretty exciting, and it seems that part of what's really cool in the book is that Kazuma gradually becomes more and more manic after meeting Terumi, until he completely transitions into being Hazama / Terumi. Trinity also apparantly plays a major role in the book, and even appears in a color illustration, so it's possible that she might be considerd the actual heroine of the book. Michi Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 YESSS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS INFO. I've been reading hints of the book as well mostly from twitter and other blogs but thank you for getting them all together. I want to see the illusts so bad already. Trinity is amazing, really. Kazuma, my angel. ❤
Takoto Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Thanks for the information again :D I've not been able to find much in English and I can't read Japanese much so ;w; Kazuma sounds cute... that Kazuma gradually becomes more and more manic after meeting Terumi, until he completely transitions into being Hazama / Terumi. Manic as-in, going insane, or...?
Vulcan422 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Seems that way. After all, wouldn't anyone go crazy if their soul were separated from their body, then you met your "true self" and had to merge back with it eventually?
Pestilence Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Once upon a time I bought BlazBlue on release. Then I played it on a non-widescreen TV and could never see what happened in the corner. So I stopped playing. The End. Once upon a time I bought BlazBlue CS on release. Then I played it and realized they nerfed my character. (rachel) So I stopped playing. Once upon a time I decided to give BBCS another shot. So I played story mode and was bored to tears, so I made the little kids in the house play through story mode and they were also bored to tears. So then I started making them play through story mode as punishment for acting up. Then one day we unlocked Mu-12 finally!, I was no longer bored but did wish I could FRC some of her moves.
Pantsukon Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) Post above is maybe out of topic, so is this one since it responds to it, but...dude, your story moved me to tears. I'll think about it whenever I'll need inspiration to look up to in life. But for the new novel, I'm quite curious...the idea of a characterization for the shell under Terumi is quite interesting. Emma Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Thank you for sharing this information, Suzaku. \o/ I'm still waiting for Phase Shift 1 to arrive here. It should be another day or two, so I'm really excited... *_* Anyway, Kazuma really interests me. At first, I wasn't actually too keen on the idea of "Hazama" and "Terumi" being two different entities because I thought it sounded kind of meh, but the way it's being played out is actually really neat. :D ...and on that note, is it just me, or does Kazuma's situation seem eerily like Noel's? Amnesiac student, lost their "memories" a few years earlier, shy, weird dreams, created by Relius, etc... I don't know, just food for thought, I guess.
DeXTeR Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 YESSS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS INFO. I've been reading hints of the book as well mostly from twitter and other blogs but thank you for getting them all together. I want to see the illusts so bad already. Trinity is amazing, really. Kazuma, my angel. ❤ Please check your PM: I've sent you a message several days ago. By the way, I was one who posted illustrations from Phase 0 here, so I thought my words have, well, some credibility. =)
pktazn Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Huh thought I posted my thanks in here already but apparently I didn't Thanks for the summary Suzaku! And I'm with you Michi, I'm interested in seeing the illustrations as well :D
Suzaku Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Bit more info. Trinity's full name was Trinity Glasfille (トリニティ=グラスフィール, Toriniti Gurasufiiru), and she was known as the Platinum Alchemist (白金の錬金術師, Hakkin no Renkinjutsushi), hence "Platinum the Trinity". Note: Gurasufiiru could be just about anything, from Glassfill to Grassfeel to Grasfiel... So, without much to go on, I found that Glas (actually pronounced "gla") was French for "(funeral) bell" and fille is French for "girl" so I went with that because it suits her just about perfectly. Still probably not what the official translation is supposed to be, though.
Takoto Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Perhaps I'm missing something, but if she was known as the Platinum Alchemist, wouldn't her name make more sense as "Trinity the Platinum" rather than "Platinum the Trinity"? /edit. actually, I know Platinum the Trinity makes some sense seeing as now she has three personalities residing in her and all. Also I'm kinda surprised no ones put the illustrations from Phase Shift online yet, the ones from Phase 0 were up in a matter of hours of it's release if I remember correctly. :c I wanna see them super bad~ Edited April 22, 2011 by Takoto
Emma Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 ^If no one else does before I get my copy, I can post illustrations if everyone's okay with it. :|b
Suzaku Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Some people have posted shots of the cover or the book sitting on the carpet or whatever, but no interior shots that I've seen.
pktazn Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Interesting that Platinum's name is actually Trinity :o ^If no one else does before I get my copy, I can post illustrations if everyone's okay with it. :|b Yes Emma, I will be so upset that you posted the illustrations that I won't be able to sleep for weeks. WEEKS. Please do. I'll love you forever xD
sesame Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 /random offtopic/ so about dem names. the names are like hints they gave to you in the beginning. for example bloodedge. it's ragna "the" bloodedge => Ragna IS The bloodedge. and trinity's the same. therefore, we can replace THE with IS platinum the trinity =>Platinum Is the Trinity.(of 6 hero time) it's 'currentname followed by 'actual name' it seems. and i'm sure platinum is more or less just a nickname for the current body...LOL (not too terribly interested in the novel now sadly/ cus it sorta went with the prediction too much ruined the fun for me ;P)
WolfCrimson Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Platinum the Trinity is the "Platinum Alchemist". Get it?
Chsal Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 No... Maybe its because I never read the whole of FMA. Was there a character who used platinum or something?
Tokkan Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Hakkin no Renkinjutsushi = Platinum Alchemist (Alchemist of Platinum) Hagane no Renkinjutsushi = Fullmetal Alchemist (Alchemist of Steel) 白金 can also be read as Shirogane, which is similar sounding to Hagane (Steel).
WolfCrimson Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 @Tokkan: Is it "Hagane no" or "Haganeno"? In the Brotherhood anime Colonel Mustang calls him "Haganeno" like it's one word.
Tokkan Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) @Tokkan: Is it "Hagane no" or "Haganeno"? In the Brotherhood anime Colonel Mustang calls him "Haganeno" like it's one word. They're technically both correct, romanisation can be tricky like that. In Japanese, there are literally no spaces between words. "Hagane no" is just cleaner than "Haganeno" from an English standpoint. Hagane means steel, no is a particle that basically means "of". Edited April 23, 2011 by Tokkan
