Abominable K Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Well it looks like Xanadu just hit the iceberg so what do we do now?
NagorbMan Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I thought they were still doing fg stuff but just quitting mtg stuff. Which I guess means that it's getting dangerously closing in to the iceberg but not quite hitting it yet.
Sesshyru Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Smash guys are in control now. We'll see what they can do to keep it open.
Sesshyru Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 currently Nyaa, HorribleSubs and many other anime sites are currently being attacked. We speculate this is a DDOS attack from the Japanese government It's over for all of us!

Xanadu was a financial black hole even before this shit. MtG was a nice, clean, low utility cost game, as well as the store's main source of revenue. Once they see their electric bill they're gonna freak out. If that store still exists in 2016 I'm going to assume Saul Goodman is involved.
Shazay Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 If anything they should end the fighting game stuff...
NagorbMan Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Gimr of vgbc now owns Xanadu. The plot thickens.
Nephinel Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 wow, this is pretty big Xanadu's dropping Magic and focusing on Smash Bros. and other fightans I've actually been planning to go there for the Smash Bros. weeklies/monthlies when Smash Bros. 3DS is released
Nobus3r1 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 So I'm glad I checked this before heading up there today. Does anyone know how/if this currently affects their fighting game schedule?
Abominable K Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 It currently doesn't affect anything. The issue at hand is the long term sustainability of a store that gets all of its revenue from FGC/Smash attendance.
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 So are people playing up at Xanadu today?
Abominable K Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Are they even open if there's no events?
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 No idea, that's why I asked. If people are playing elsewhere that's cool too.
Nephinel Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I went to Xanadu on Friday around 3 PM and it was closed (they usually open at 12:30 PM on Fridays) so I don't know might have to find a new hang-out for fightan gaems soon?
