IMO the best approach ( and I think stefan may agree with me here ) is find a girl who natively speaks the desired language and woo her like you're Sean Connery and its 1955
hahahahaha

BYUUUsan: memorize all the hiragana and katakana first before you start trying anything else. writing them out by hand in gojyuon order repeatedly got the job done for me pretty quickly

The Japanese "alphabet" is interesting compared to the English alphabet because the Japanese one is organized on a vowel/consonant matrix (which can be arranged in a linear fashion, but that's not the point).

Is there any natural language in existence which is based on a 3-axis matrix? I can't say I'm familiar at all with the Indo-Aryan and Sanskrit-derivative languages, so maybe one of those is?

Of course, Google makes the argument that the guttural utterances of German constitute a complete drum-machine sub-language. Who needs vowels, anyway?

koizumi junichiro, vladimir putin, yulia tymoshenko, george bush sr., and the fucking pope travel to the guiana to do battle with adolf hitler's lunar fourth reich via MAHJONG.

this has to be the most amazing page out of anything I have seen in a long, long time.

Gabe: Tibetan is 3-axis :( Most godawful language I ever studied. The second axis is super simple cause it's only diacretic, but the third makes baby jesus cry =/

Stefan: Its important to be particular about languages >:( How else will you know things like "The dot over the letter i is called a tittle" which make you a massive hit at work parties? =D

I believe this comment sums it up pretty good for me.

Beginning: Hmm, I could play this.

Middle: Uff hard times, but can do.

End: The Fuck? I´m out.

Shit, you and Mike need to both learn this. Get some woodwinds in there while you're at it.

Sorry Yuan, but I don't play commie music. It's not bad, but I don't really like it although I would be interested in playing some asian music in the future at some point.

The Sears Tower is:

- 262 Michael Jordans tall

- 283 Barack Obamas tall

It's also called the Willis Tower now. Which I thought was a tribute to Bruce Willis until I remembered that Die Hard 1 actually takes place in New York.

Also holy shit there are like a million Panda Express's here. Chicago really covers off a broad spectrum of food.

"The first film begins on Christmas Eve when McClane is traveling to Los Angeles to spend Christmas with his wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), who is living in Los Angeles with their two children and using her maiden name."

i'm coming back on thursday, turns out i'm almost out of vacation days anyways. i figure I can probably get a good cross section of the city at night, and frankly it's fucking cold. Might buy a ticket for WICKED though. Chicago is like jew broadway. (which is kind of an oxymoron since new york probably has the bigger jew population ...)
