Happy new years!!

I'll be heading to Vietnam tomorrow and it looks like I'll be in Vancouver for the night of Jan 14th... then head back to Prince Rupert the next morning. All-nighter Thursday night?? I'll bring back some souvenirs from VN.

Happy New Years! Have a good trip to Vietnam buddy. Also don't marry anyone please...

Also watched Hachiko: A Dog's Story. So sad. So touching.

OHHH shiiii HACHIKO is indeed a sad, touching story.

have you seen the Japanese trailer for that movie? it has J-POP and it pretty much spoils the entire story... but then if you're Japanese, you would probably know the Hachiko story already.

imma bring back ELLY TRAN HA

Posted (edited)

Yeah, the movie was good. So good that Tsang Tsung becomes good even comes to offer to pay for the upkeep of Hachiko as he waits for his master. I miss my dog.

I like the piano theme that they play through the movie.

Also, Mike and Joe mentioned to me the 12 year old Vietnamese model. http://kapansenget.blogspot.com/2010/11/unbelievable-12-years-old-vietnamese.html

holy crap, she looks quite a bit older than 12. so young.

ELLY TRAN HA is said to be younger than she actually is. She's like 23 now, but I think Ray mentioned she was said to be 18 or so. Maybe the same deal with that 12yr old girl?

HAHHAHA I didn't notice that was Shang Tsung! hahahaha... he's put on quite a bit of weight... RICHARD GERE your soul is MINE

Posted

Possibly. There's no way Elly Tran is 18 though. That's just bullshit. 22 is more believable.

Haha wow, how did I fuck up Shang Tsung's name? hahaha. Maybe it's because I was watching Hachiko on PPStream. Everything in Simplified Chinese sub. Subtitles called Hachi 小八

I get that, but why the 小 in chinese?

It means "small". I don't how "Hachiko" is normally written, but if the "ko" is the one meaning "small/little", then that's why.

Hachikō (ハチ公?, November 10, 1923–March 8, 1935), known in Japanese as chūken Hachikō (忠犬ハチ公?, "faithful dog Hachikō" ('hachi' meaning 'eight', a number referring to the dog's birth order in the litter, and 'kō,' meaning prince or duke))

lol ghetto chinese o.o

So I just beat FF Crisis Core after leaving it alone for ages. I guess I just wanted to see how the story goes.

The story isn't a total mess, but nobody's motivations for anything make any sense at all. Hell, you don't even know why some of the crap that happens happens. But then again, what was the last FF game that had an actually good story? (Oh wait, that'd probably be FF12... actually, I don't know if FF12 has a good story or if it just has good writing, because I never beat it)

Of course, the big discovery in relation to FF7 is that Zack didn't actually die at the reactor following the fight with Sephiroth! Yeah.

The single best stroke of the entire presentation comes in the very, very final frame, after the credits roll, after you see a remade version of the FF7 intro... you see a screen that says, "To be continued in Final Fantasy 7". That probably contains the highest amount of thoughtfulness per unit... whatever, in the whole game. Mad spoilerz? Oh well.

Now I'm going to try playing that Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep game. With any luck it won't be the total "wtf is going on here" that the GBA game was.

Oh boy, the game starts with difficulty selection, where it tells you that in Easy you can't unlock the secret ending, in Normal it's harder to unlock, in Proud it's easier to unlock, and in critical it's also easier to unlock. Looking it up, it turns out that to get it in Normal, ,you have to do some max collection that's even harder than hard mode. Hooray!

You also don't get to readjust the difficulty after the game starts. You know, So you don't try to play through the game in Easy and then switch to Hard just at the end.

But since I can skip cutscenes in it, it's already at least as good as Crisis Core.

I get that, but why the 小 in chinese?

pretty much the chinese way of making easy names is by appending 小 to virtually anything

think of it like a nickname

Haha okay. I was reading Xiao Ba and I was like "wtf, I'm not great at japanese but I'm pretty sure small doesn't not translate to ko". Still movie was one of the better ones I've seen in a while. Probably mainly because I had a dog. Will never watch it with other people in the room though.

Guilty Gear is not anime.

I only play Melty Blood and loli shooters because of peer pressure.

Happy New Year everyone! :toot:

peter you are a bit late to become a pps user. it was a week before that all the foreign(western) movies and clips that got taken off because of the copy right issues, before they had lots of dvd quality movies that I don't remember how many I've watched, but it's still good for Asian shows.

other than that, I just saw GamerBee's msn status: three oversea championships, what's up next.

who would be peer pressuring you when you live in the middle of NO WHERE (i.e. cranbrook). although, I did have some acquaintances from cranbrook who enjoyed the occasional LARP... so I wouldn't be surprised if cranbrook had people of the lesser geeky type.

Long if you managed to get Elly back with you, I'll allow you to have sex with her first.

LOL DEAL

This is almost as bad as Chad Kroeger trying to deny Nickelback's suckyness.

Yeah, sucks but oh well. I don't use PPstream all that much anyways because of shitty internet. I remember watching the A-Team and stuff during the summer at my friends place. Pretty good. Asian shows do help with the Chinese I guess, and I do wanna get better at listening and stuff. Fucking took the course in school, it'd be useless if I don't use it after right?

Also, Rock Paper Scissors who has sex with her second. Me and Ray only, everyone else fuck off.

Also fuck Paul. Joe wasn't playing MB now was he? Why couldn't you be like him?

speaking of Chinese and using 小 in names, it reminds me of what my and Vu's landlady's mother (who was Chinese and almost couldn't speak a word of English) used to call us. I think i was "xao-fen" (Stefan -> -fan -> "-fen", I guess?), and Vu was "xao-wu", or however you would romanize it.

Downloading complete HD feed of Music Station 2010 Super Live Christmas. I already have the ones I wanted from this (HD Feed also) from Youtube when a Japanese youtube poster uploaded it originally (I just wanted JUJU and Dreams Come True), but I also downloaded the intro to the TV special, and lol @ the intro. It's like a freaking Olympics Opening Ceramony as they introduce everybody (there are 33 musical performers/groups). Anyway it's been since taken down from youtube due to copyright infringment, but I found it elsewhere and am downloading it (albeit really slowly, but should have it ready the next time I drop by mike's).

Why is this important for you guys?
