BagLunch Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 No, I was thinking more like the latter half of this combo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG6bNJH4WiI except that on the stream, somebody did it without a j.B in the loop, so it was just nonstop slapping Evidently a similar thing is possible with Doom's airdash cancellable j.B, so one guy was doing a combo that was just a buttload of j.B's airdash cancelled and it looked hilarious.
BagLunch Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Since I'm sure Mike will care: Bethany is not a romance option in DA2, so no imouto ending. I've probably just cost a sale of the game.

That's really bizarre I could have sworn you are limited to one airdash cancel every time you're in the air? Or maybe just no one has ever bothered to try here. Random mortal kombat thing: I was searching for the latest trailer again on youtube but came across this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVztBcZ88_Q
sweetvids Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 it's not that bad. I only saw people do 2-3 reps in matches anyway, which is pretty much as many as I'd use, then go to ground relaunch. I guess from the viewpoint of an average player it would be pretty hard, especially if you try for 5-7 reps, but after a certain point I don't think you can even combo into shockwave anymore, so it's a moot point. doom's loop doesn't have nearly as much slapping. besides it involves actually hitting them with S again on the ground whereas mags is HUA HUAing all day. Yeah, Floe mainly used it to push the guy into the corner where he proceeded to try and buttfuck them. He succeeded most of the time too. I wouldn't personally bother with it though since I'm on pad. Would rather figure out the right configurations so that I can block crossups. I saw Clock do the j.B loop. Didn't look very economical but I was still like "omg wtf" when I saw it.
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 There's the "pause game issue orders" thing you can do by hitting spacebar, and there's the usual slew of menus that start from ESC and their usual hotkeys (J for journal, C for character, I for inventory....) well maybe it was just my version that i downloaded (if there were updated versions of the demo?), but ESC was completely disabled for the entire demo and there wasn't even a spot in the Hotkey menu for "Main Menu" where I could assign ESC. i just thought it was really weird that it wasn't there. why are there so many Mortal Kombats

When you are in fly mode, you have unlimited air dashes.
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 i'm okay! there was a huge earthquake (8.8) off the coast of Sendai about an hour ago. just crazy. edit: according to the USGS picture, there were like 5 or 6 earthquakes all across east/northeast japan O_O it's still shaking in my apartment, here. edit2: the tsunami looks crazy, i'm glad i at least don't live in northeast japan.
ghostgoodboy Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 DON'T DIE STEFAN. just saw it on the news, it's horrific. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/world/2011/03/11/cabrera.japan.quake.cnn.html
BagLunch Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 wow that's crazy huge... 8.8 wtf Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 here we come
sweetvids Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Yeah just saw on the news. Damn man, big quakes. That's good to hear you're alright. Looking at some videos. Tsunamis are crazy.
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) yeah i was watching NHK (kinda like the CBC of Japan) and they had a cameraman in a helicopter over Sendai, and they caught one of the earlier tsunami waves just sweep away the town near the coast, around the Sendai airport. just crazy, looked like a disaster movie; you could even see people tryin to drive their cars away from the wave but then get hit by the wave. (the scene quickly changed to a different camera.) one of the (other) unnerving things is that cellphone communications seem to be down in the tokyo area, so i have no idea how my wife is doing. and it's just nuts how many earthquakes there've been today, like 5 or 6? my apartment's been shaking for the past like... 5 hours? i mean the past couple of hours it's been "quiet", although there were a couple of smaller earthquakes in... right now it's shakin gmore again... but yeah like, all of east/northeast Japan basically stopped today. rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 lol jeez, it was another earthquake a couple of minutes ago. this is the USGS picture as of 5:35pm local time: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/10/140_35.php
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) now they're showing video of ... pullback?... of the tsunami waves... all these cars and ships and things getting pulled out to sea. edit: wow, another one, 5:35pm. edit2: jeez it's like every 5 minutes, another just hit at 5:40 and i just felt it half a minute ago. geogaddi Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 http://i.imgur.com/RpLDr.png i guess was the buildup to this eh? fuck : (
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 yeah that was just the other day. according to NHK, today's earthquake was the largest in recorded history in Japan. there are earthquakes still happening throughout various parts of northeast japan.
Saru Kada Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 checked in with my family and taiwan seems largely ok, good to hear that you're alright stefan! do you know if your wife is ok yet?
rtl42 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 yeah actually shortly after i posted last time, my wife got home. she was on the train when the earthquake hit, and although she was alright, the train was stopped for an hour before the train personnel let the passengers off. she walked back to the station, took a bus partway home, then walked the rest of the way (about an hour and a half in total, when it should normally take 30 minutes). we've been mostly watching the news and emailing friends & family to let them know we're alright. the aftershocks are still coming, though, it's crazy. and i don't even know if they should be called aftershocks: most of them are relatively strong earthquakes, in and of themselves, so it's been a really crazy day. dunno if you guys have seen the images, though, but it's pretty awful: entire towns swept away, factories/refineries on fire, even some towns on fire, as well. i'm not sure how i'm gonna sleep tonight, but i guess i'll have to try lol. i'll keep you guys posted as things develop with me.
BagLunch Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Yeah, when there are nonstop quakes it's kinda hard to keep calm and carry on. Glad to hear that you and your wife are safe! Has the area around you live/study stayed mostly intact? http://i.imgur.com/wrCkv.png Hideo probably made a more sympathetic tweet that this doesn't show, but it still looks hilarious.

geogaddi Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3fUqdGXLbM I would have SHIT myself if I were in there in my office only 3 people showed up to work today in my department, I guess everyone else decided to just say fuck it and stay at home to watch the news this shit is so disturbing because it reminds me of 9/21 in taiwan, bad times man, relatives showing up on tv screaming at firefighters and begging them to save people buried in collapsed houses, ughh holy fuck BOOOM http://i.imgur.com/GtPS2.jpg Edited March 11, 2011 by geogaddi
BagLunch Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I remember last time I experienced a quake in Van. It's quite an amazing feeling to have the ground under your feet shake, but thankfully the quake we felt then was tiny. Wow, what's amazing about that explosion picture is just a few minutes ago I was looking at CNN pictures that seemed to show that area on fire, but not yet going ASPLOSION. On a lighter note: Is JSDF mobilizing to stop underwater monsters from destroying Japan?
-SinfuL- Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Haven't posted here in awhile, but when I heard about the quakes I decided to drop in to make sure Stefan and his wife were okay. Good to hear that everything's okay (despite the continuing tremors). All the recent earthquakes are disturbing =\
