little continuity goof that I noticed after third time finishing the game, Issac's right eye seems to be back to normal condition the very next scene he disarms helmet after the needle torture. Did you guys screw up the needle? the death scene is .. excruciating.

no worries Long, buy the suit later on when you do Zealot.

I'm now suffering from the orgy of ammunition whoring. Not that I'm really broke to afford any but just saving up for nodes. My only weapons now are Stasis + few critical shots + Limbs of the dead.

Zealot run dude. Less ammo. Gotta make your shots count.

I also fucked up the needle scene the first time. It's like steady...steady...OH FUCK. Don't understand how jamming in correctly into your eye is any less death-causing then incorrectly jamming it into your eye.

tsumo off last tile

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

the last tile tsumo also has to happen while you're in furiten (optionally, if you have been in double riichi, just to make everybody's sense of doom that much greater), or else it's only somewhat cool

then you flip over the hidden dora and explode everybody

your 1 han tsumo IS WORTH NOTHING TO ME

Also now that we learned that chi is exactly the same as chinese MJ's seung, the games are almost functionally identical in terms of viable hands, despite the variation in hand types. The difference now feels a lot less meaningful to me, in switching from chink to jap: It's like as if you took MVC3 and inserted ten more captain americas into the roster.

The presence of dora allows for garbage rush hands to actually work given riichi, which I think is a fairly significant difference from the chinese system (which just bans chicken hands outright). There are some subtleties in the scoring system that I never bothered to learn that somehow give the game more granualrity than the chinese system's otherwise elegant powers of 2 scoring, and the game throws out the flower tiles (which are just hella luck based... bonus for not drawing any? All that tells me is that I'm not rigging my draws enough)

Of course, dora is also hella luck based, and the way that a huge chunk of the tiles are locked out from play make planning difficult unless you are mad rigging.

Riichi and dora tiles is like... rage explosion or something.

I don't know if the dealer passing system is the same in the chinese system. There is some BS that is possible there if you are actually playing a game with the correctly fixed rounds that enables a player that is behind to keep the game going so long as he keeps winning. F*** comeback mechanics.

EDIT: also I'm curious how the thought that chi and seung were different came about. It sounds like an interesting interpretation story.

Haha comeback mechanics

Well there isn't much of a story except that mike somehow thought you could chi from anyone (not just the guy to your left). I'm not sure what this does to the game in the long term but it makes noob cannon hands very viable in the short term. It is admittedly fun but you will get counterpoked on every tile you throw out.

Hey Stefan, if you're planning on buying DAII, Direct2Drive has a promo where if you enter the code "burnout" at the checkout you get 20% off. Brings it down to around 47 bucks.

counterpoked on random discards, sad times. speaking of noob cannon hands, under some rules tanyao (all inside) cannot be stolen, which makes it less useful since it's a 1 han hand that's almost guaranteed to not be worth any points thanks to lack of terminals.

speaking of comeback factor, the dealer passing system is indeed such that if you win as dealer, you keep dealing and the game keeps going. the best part is, once you hit dealer repetition 5, the 1-han minimum becomes a 2-han minimum!

oh ok, thx... but where you buy games "Direct2Drive"?

The service is called Direct2Drive. It's basically like Steam only a website.

right, yeah that's what i was afraid of. when i tried ordering it just now, i got an error message saying "Dragon Age II is Country restricted on your IP", which I've had happen to me before. i'm not really sure why that would even happen, but i guess i just have to buy it from an import game store.

man as soon as I heard that terrible voice, I stopped it. And I don't really watch BB video, it was only because I dropped my micro when clicking other videos.
