Actually it doesn't really matter to me that much since my comp is ass and my internet is ass so the only time I would actually be able to play is at Mike's house. Plus the selection of heroes available at the moment is kind of boring. Probably only take me a few weeks to get back into the groove of Dota when it comes out.

They do have a bunch of the more modern heroes there (Windrunner, Ancient Apparition, Batrider, Dark Seer, Clockwork), though I do hear that a number of the carries are not faced with all their usual counterpicks at the moment. I do wish that the game was a little less brown, though. I also hope that they increase the field of view, because that's one thing that definitely makes me not want to play dota or hon compared to lol.

Wait so let me get this straight the heroes you want are the ones which: - you have never played before (wtf?) - you have played and are merely ok with (i guess maybe ones you haven't really gotten proficient with yet) I guess that kinda sorta makes sense, though that's a pretty hilarious filter at first glance ("This game is boring because it contains no heroes I am mediocre at using.")
sweetvids Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Well I did quit Dota about a year ago so there are some heroes I haven't played yet, as well as they made some major changes to existing heroes. Like I haven't played Terrorblade since they changed his skills. And the heroes I'm not quite proficient at are the ones that require support in order to be effective, unless you're playing against scrubs, then it's just free. One hero that I don't think I'll ever get good with though is Invoker. Fuck that guy.

BagLunch Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Last hitting is just so much easier in LOL. The creeps have 0 armor, and the melee creeps have like 440 health... most melee champs have base attack damage close to 60... so the window you have to last hit creeps is enormous compared to dota, where the melee creeps have like 550 health and armor. On top of that, a lot of the attack animations have way faster startup compared to dota. The creeps also have way smaller collision boxes, so you don't get stuck on them so easily. I'm not sure whether I like how the creeps are pillowfisted in LOL compared to how the creeps will own you early game in dota, though. Edited November 24, 2011 by BagLunch
