I wouldn't say the game is dead, I still manage to find ranked matches every 15 seconds or so (only during the evening tho). I am actually surprised by the amount of new players that are interested in the game. And although it might be difficult to learn due to most people on ranked already knowing their stuff I think they'll learn and improve.

Plus MadScientist is godlike and rollback will make netplay A LOT BETTER

Am I correct in assuming that Roa is broken because of his lightning orbs that can seemingly be activated whenever he wants and come out instantly so he can instantly stop his opponent's approaches, thus granting him godlike neutral control?

Not only that, and I don't think it's showcased on my example, C-Roa's pressure game is godlike, it has a reversal (in melty that's a HUGE deal) and his punish game is actually dumb, you can end up in the corner for one mistake from almost anywhere.

Anyway.  How does online play for this game?

Right now, it's really laggy. And supposedly they're in the process of converting from delay into rollback netcode, which might be part of the problem.

It's not a part of the problem, because ASW choosed to put rollback just one or two days ago.

I legit have had 2 laggy unplayable matches, one was a 5 second delay game and the other I could do some things but the lag was there. Other than that my experience has been ok so far. Tho I am aware of the general discontent with the netcode, because it is nothing like the caster that we were all used to.

I couldn't use the caster because it required direct IP connections, so this is the first time i'm actually getting to play it with others.

What kind of problem do you have with IPs?

Just like me (more or less). Mobility wise is V.Akiha (V.Sion is second), and normals-wise it would be Miyako and the Necos (Neco-Arc has a 3 frames 2A).

Hebi pretty much answered this, but CFH-Vakiha, F-Vsion, H-Wlen, CFH-Seifuku are pretty fast and have great mobility, C-Aoko might satisfy you as well since her air mobility is crazy good

Normal wise other than the Necos I'd say F-Ries, F-Seifuku and F-Vakiha have really good 2a's and you can easiliy win trades with them. The normal trend is that F-Moon characters have great normals.

Edit:

I read your signature, you liked playing Aigis? Then you can try F-Wara. He's the hoverdash character of the game. He's not as busted as Aigis but has strong oki game.

I wanted To know how or where did you get those results of that list. I've been playing for something like 4 years or so and I can definitely tell there is some stuff that does not make sense on that list.

Bit late on the reply, but that was a Melty Bread member's thoughts on the tiers from like, 4 years ago lol. A lot of stuff changed since then, that's for sure. But for those who just want a general idea of where the characters are, it's still alright. It's actually much more convenient using a picture when it comes to identifying 'who is where'.

I've also wanted to do something like this since forever, & now seems like a great time.

"Riesbyfe No.30 Expert Challenge: Inflict over 9000 damage!"

RiesbyfeMaxDam.jpg

"Miyako No.30 Expert Challenge: inflict over 8000 damage!"

MiyakoMaxDam.jpg

Miyako's is scary considering how fast she is.

Hehe.... Akiha Vermilion.

H-How's everybody holding up online? With no replies for almost a month, it's almost as if the game was... DEAD! *GASP*

Who am I kidding. My internet is absolute rubbish so I wouldn't know anything. Kind of wish I had an offline scene here, err... well, one that plays 2D/Anime fighters.

Isn't anybody else here glad that Melty Blood never once died on GameAcho? I just now discovered that their 1st video was MB one, go figure!

A-cho is very selective with their games, they don't seem to care how old those games are, but how good they are. Melty is not even close to dead in A-cho, I would say it's the most played game in A-cho after Xrd and CF.

And well, we're still waiting for the Rollback implementation, so most of the people (like me) are in "hiatus" from the Steam version.

Mhmm. I only found A-cho something like 4 years ago, and MB was there as far as I can remember, so ya, definitely not dead. I personally find that A-cho showcases a wide variety of games, although some are more obvious than others. Sometimes, you even get games like Dark Awake/Chaos Breaker that pop-up, & I'm loving the Puyo-Puyo popularity as of late (I've got a long way to go)!

Previously, I used to go on HardEdgeOfficial for arcade matches, before whatever happened to them on Youtube. Actually, I don't quite remember what they used show there.

(Talking 'bout Youtube arcade channels in the MB subforum, oh joy.)

Oh well. Keep your Melty Blood edges sharp boys.

This got a Steam release after 5 years and the netcode is still to be fixed, it's better if you start playing now. Also, you could try the Carnival version with the Cccaster for now, it's one of the bests netcodes available for FGs.
