unsanctifier Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 is it cheap to mod a ps2 stick into a 360 one as well?

Leo7 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 A question to all the new players in the community who are getting into Guilty Gear, since there are a bunch that have started recently (including me) ... How many of you guys are serious about learning to play the game at a high level? This is a serious question to gauge interest in the game and see if there's anybody who would like a bit of help leveling up instead of getting overwhelmed. I'd appreciate replies, either in this thread or as a PM.
kousaka Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 im getting raped soo hard in guilty gear here in hk i wanna drop robo and learn to play eddie

X-Sapphire Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 im getting raped soo hard in guilty gear here in hk i wanna drop robo and learn to play eddie Or you could step your game up and learn more than just fishing ib -> super. That's the bulk of your damage in 90% of the games I watch you play. I may drop by gety at 1 am tonight.
Leo7 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I said learn to play the game, not learn to play a new character you bastards. p.s. I want to learn another (3rd) character as well tbh. Still deciding on who. I'll be reaching tonight.
DioBrando Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 lol, who did you get so far anyways? I am for a stronger GG community.
Leo7 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 lol, who did you get so far anyways? you mean who responded? no one (no i don't count you and hermes as responses). i made my post only like 15 minutes ago, i'll wait for more responses
Tofu Warrior Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 As of right now, I'm interested. However, with MvC3 and KOF XIII on the horizon, I don't want to spread myself too thin across too many games, so I may end up dropping GG as a competitive game. That depends though, I may fall in love with it, who knows lol. But yeah, count me in on wanting to level up. I was thinking of playing May, Sol or Faust.
Leo7 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Just want to provide a bit of context here. Reason why I ask the question is because Jabir's been interested in helping the community get stronger since there's a lot of new blood. Jabir's been beasting with streaks at Gety the past few Fridays with a variety of characters, but he's willing to teach people how to deal with those match-ups (e.g. character write-ups on how to deal with the character, playing the match-up at gety, etc.). I mean characters like Eddie or I-no can destroy you pretty quickly 3-0 if you don't know the match-up. Just want to know if there's any interest in this sort of thing.
Linear04 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 to be very honest, i want to get better, but i dont think i have the dedication to do it since i get distracted by other games very easily
poiyo Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'd like to learn GG properly instead of mashing randomly on PSP but not sure if it's a good idea to do so yet given BB track record.
Tin Man Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 TOURNAMENT TOMORROW!!! EVERYONE COME IF U CAN, IF ITS A MATTER OF INTEREST, COME ANYWAYS, GONE BE GOOD, PROMISE :]!!!
kellfire Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 New character? Why? You're using top tier already, why would you switch, dio? Ewww, mvc3. That game doesn't look that competitive to me. I heard they made the game way too simple.

I refuse to work too hard for it though, I'd like to press buttons, go autopilot, and stack wins. Who should I play?

I heard they made the game way too simple. I thought the same thing at first, but I changed my mind after watching videos. It still has wavedashing, it still has tri-jumps, it's still fast as hell in the right hands. It also has true unblockables haha, all the dumb shit that made MvC2 fun. People like Yipes and Sanford Kelly said that if you don't know how to block, you're still going to get opened up like in the old days.
K2 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 i am always in for higher level playing. give me a top tier player so my jhs x n will not work
Roldy Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'm in for GG. Venom is probably one of the most interesting characters in all of the games I've played. Plus, GG in general is very unique. Help me level up!

Hello Sir, I regrettably must inform you that I must decline your request at this current time. In the meantime, might I suggest playing the latest entry in Arc System Works' other flagship fighting game franchise, BlazBlue Continuum Shift. I hear mashing the A and B button while jumping with the character Carl Clover is very effective! Thank you for showing your interest though! I hope we can do business at a later date.
Linear04 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 you only like venom because you can see his balls on screen :]
archling Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Dear Representative of higher level play, I seem to do quite well with auto-pilot Jam that spams puffball, 2s, and 6s all day. I play against this Anji and Potemkin player that whores training mode all day and still manage to win at a comfortable level without putting much thinking and just pressing buttons. Do you think I should switch to BlazBlue as well if it also allows me to spam normals and auto-pilot and win? P.S. I can't do combos.
mr.mortified Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 You know I'm up for learning high level play in GG but that comes with a plethora of matchup experience which would take months or years to get. Also considering how much (or should I say little) time I have for gety, high play GG may be out of my reach ;_;
