ikeTATARI Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6WTATSd_5U go to 2:42 Yeaaaaah, Mu's ombos got nothing on Zappas.
Ryd' Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Oh hey, I played that all last Saturday at my brother's house. He took to the game more enthusiastically than I did - he's HR 49 while I'm still running around at 41. I'm so proud, he usually quickly loses patience for the twitchier games! What HR are you at these days? I've been doing offline mode to familiarize myself with new monsters and grinding out my gear. Still at whatever HR I was at when I last played...which can't have been too high. Working on elemental SnS sets+farming Lagiacrus for armor to see if that'll maybe make SnS feel like a pale echo of duals. If not, I'll be sad and continue along with switchaxe and lance. Can't wait for MHP3 so I can get my duals and gunlances back :<
Hateraid Red Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 any games happening today? I need to play something; ANYTHING

Hateraid Red Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 wow, vince got fucking trolled. GG champ~ <3
Spiteful Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Vince your my hero. Maximum homo be only because your a fellow Latino like myself...
Ryd' Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Playing the MHP3 demo. Dual Swords are even more badass than they were before. Switch Axe has also been improved; no more worthless wild flailing.
milesokeefe Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Yeah, I'm jealous that none of that stuff will ever be added to the Wii port. Well worth the loss of underwater combat!
Ryd' Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Loss? What loss? Removing aquatic combat is the greatest thing they could do to Tri, right next to reimplementing Gunlances and Duals. Slower mobility with a poorly implemented Z-axis in an already limited-mobility game is hardly my idea of a good time =T If you were able to at least swim up/down without having to aim the camera in that direction, it'd be so much better. Unless I missed something in the manual and undersea battles that lets you do that... You should get a PSP.
Hateraid Red Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 you can do that on the classic control scheme.
Greyvangelist Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Carlos, I think you're doing it wrong. Last time I played a game with underwater controls you mash the jump button to stay afloat and dive by not pressing anything.
Danwx2 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 So, is there anything going on today, or is it Minecraft day for me, lol? zzz
Theupstreamer Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Pretty sure we're doing wings and guild wars. I just hope that we go to wings during happy hour.
milesokeefe Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Ryd - You can use the shoulder buttons to ascend/descend in the default scheme, but it's still very clunky. As for getting a PSP, I'm really tempted to. It just seems like a bit of a waste to fight great big thundering beasts on a teeny tiny screen! And I'm kinda scared of how the PSP might handle, I can hardly play the more active DS games for longer than 30 minutes at a time without my hands cramping up.
Synthesis Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Get the PSP! It handles like a playstation controller. Also, Dissidia. I need people to play against.
milesokeefe Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Ted - A PSX controller, eh? I like PSX controllers... Marvin couldn't get the time off for SCR, but it sounds like one or more of his friends might still be interested in carpooling from Tucson to Mesa, and then carpooling with me from Mesa to Cali and back. Get in touch w/Marvin if you're still interested in going to SCR, he might could get you a seat in the Tucson-Mesa carpool.
Theupstreamer Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Ted is going with asian brian, dan. EDIT: oh derp, your suggestion still makes sense bcause ted needs to get here from tucson first. NVM GAIS
milesokeefe Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Right on, glad to hear he got something arranged. But yeah, I *was* kinda hoping to have a social wingman or two for the ride - I have an easier time not being painfully awkward around people I don't know if I'm with someone I *do* know. And Ted in particular is amazing at killing awkward silences before anyone even has a chance to hear them. Oh, well! Worst case scenario, I'll get to know one or two new people. And annoy them with my music.
Hateraid Red Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I would ride with you and talk about GGXXAC but i have my own flock to tend to. stay strong, dan; stay black.
Synthesis Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I might be driving there with my boyfriend, actually. We have 3 spaces in the car and we'll be heading up to Phoenix so if those Tucson guys would like a ride, have them contact me, and if there's room, we can probably grab you, Dan.

And I'm kinda scared of how the PSP might handle, I can hardly play the more active DS games for longer than 30 minutes at a time without my hands cramping up. You know, I distinctly remember trying the shoulder buttons and getting nothing, which led to some disgust at seemingly not having that option when there were buttons not being used; couldn't check the manual because it has apparently grown wings. I'll check again next time I feel like playing it, though that'll only solve part of the aggravation; that camera really needs to be faster. The worst that a PSP will do to you MH-wise is force you to adopt an awkward left hand posture for manipulating the camera and moving at the same time. It's difficult at first, but kind of grows on you.

Not having to drive for 7 hours straight would be incredibly awesome. I'll let Marvin know, he's the contact for these mysterious other guys.
Ryuuka Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 So then Ted, should we remove your spot in our reservation?
