  1. Delay free netcode, please. It can be done. If HD Remix had it, then I do not understand why Guilty Gear could not also - HD Remix was not ST built from the ground up with netplay in mind. It was plain old ST code with netcode slapped on top of it. I'm very very tired of buying fighting games that are unplayable online.
  2. I guess I'm gonna have to wait til next season to find out whether Digital Watches survived being stabbed by Cersei
  3. I suppose it depends on when the "last half of the animation" starts. Early enough, it *could* be useful in extending blockstrings or in combos off of heavy hits, but there's definitely not much in the way of mixup opportunity in it. The video makes it look like the window doesn't open until the ass end of the move, which is well into useless territory. I'd *much* rather Baiken be able to FDC the run. Oh god that would be amazing. Baikens dashing bravely across the screen, alternating between high/low block state, buffering counters the whole time... so beautiful
  4. noooo my instant youshijin ... I'm pretty sure Baiken could guard cancel from command run in AC, too EDIT - Ah. I got "63214K : now possible to do guard cancels while successfully guarding with the move" from SRK DL's "63214K : now possible to do guard cancels during the last half of the animation" explains what's happening in the video perfectly
  5. I am, schedule permitting. What days and times were you thinking?
  6. Well, I like the Skullgirls about as much as I suspected I would. Here's my tag, in case anyone else wants to play the game some time: PSN - keefemoon
  7. Sounds like it's going to have one thing I know only one other game to have - decent netcode. I *really* appreciate good netcode. Oh well. Here's hoping Guilty Gear has decent netcode! I've been looking forward to a game I can stand to play with you guys for a long time.
  8. Skullgirls isn't nearly as poverty looking as it was at SCR over a year ago. I'm pretty excited about it.
  9. I don't know. I've heard about things being irreducibly complex before.
  10. Greyvan - I didn't know it was even possible to look forward to playing Baiken! Yah, can't wait to play everyone again. I even miss Luke's Sol and Nick's Slayer. I've got a four day weekend coming up soon, maybe I'll try to make it to anything Guilty Gear related that happens that weekend to get a feel for how much grinding I'm gonna have to do. Ruben - Ya, feel free to hit me up for KoF if you see me online! I'll be sure to do the same if I see you first. If I could stand to play AH3, I reckon I can take all that Skullgirls can throw at me. And it sounds like it's gonna have delay free netcode. I like delay free netcode SO MUCH
  11. Ted - 1. Because I'm spoiled! HDR's netcode allowed me to get good at the game without ever leaving the house. 2. Because I'm neurotic. I would hold myself to a minimum standard of competence and feel that I was wasting everyone's time if I performed beneath it. 3. Because my schedule sucks. I don't get off work until 3AM Saturday morning on Fridays, and by the time I wake up Saturday afternoon, I'm in Glendale and not really in the mood to drive much after driving 70 miles a day for five days straight. Sunday is family day. So, I've let go of my AH3 aspirations. And my KoF13 aspirations, which kinda sucks because I liked KoF13 even more than I did AH3. The only FGs games I see myself getting into in the forseeable future are Guilty Gear and Skullgirls.
  12. I tried to get into it, but the netcode was too bad for me and I was too bad for Ted.
  13. I reject the premise that Guilty Gear's timing requirements preclude it from enjoying decent netcode. SF2 can be chopped into very tiny slices of time. It makes you deal with one frame windows to attempt reversal throws and shoryukens all the damn time. Like Guilty Gear, it was made in the days before online play. Now, AE and HF were awful online, but the 360 port of HD Remix had delay free netcode that could provide a solid playing experience up to about 110 ping territory. You reliably do 1 button reversals and reversal throws online. Bear in mind you had a one frame window to press the final input of those commands, not 2 to 4 - anything with a 2-4 frame window was of course perfectly possible to accomplish online as well. In return for the lack of delay, you had to deal with rollback. In my experience, rollback wasn't really noticeable til you got into 100 ping territory. 180+ ping games could look pretty ridiculous. The PS3 port also had delay free netcode, but it had 1-2 frames add input delay. It was not the preferred platform for tournament play. If HDR could have delay free netcode, I think Guilty Gear could, too. HDR SF2 was not remade from the ground up with netplay in mind, netcode was imposed upon the original SF2 code. Whether Guilty Gear *will* have delay free netcode or not, is another story. I'm hoping for 0-3 frames total delay. 4-5 I'd tolerate, but it'd play in a soupy, PS3 HDR-ish way, ugh ugh ugh compared to offline on PS2. 6+ = no thanks
  14. After seeing what a game rebalancing did for the SF2 scene, I can't say I recommend it for AC.
  15. HI MEHRAJ! How goes! Is your facial hair still top tier? Hi Luke! ....I'm gonna have to grind for months before I can compete with you, aren't I? Hey, Brian! I finally got and beat Demon's Souls, it was fantastic. Working through Dark Souls, stuck on post prison Seath atm. Hello there to everyone else, too! Miss yall.
  16. rollback > input delay Please do not screw this up. The game must be worth playing for those who can not enjoy the benefit of regular local competition. Please do not let this turn out like KoF13.
  17. haha, sup Vince! I'll be back to my regularly scheduled lurking now.
  18. O_O oh please have rollback rather than input delay please please please
  19. Oh hey Dustloop's back! Ruben - Thanks for the invite! It was pretty awesome to see everyone again, plus the Guilty Gear was fun. I was impressed to see so many CS players - wtg, AZ BB! I'm stuck at work tonight, unfortunately. I should have the evening of the 22nd and 29th free, tho.
  20. Ruben - I've got two sticks. I'll be sure to bring them both! I can drag that 21" and a spare PS2 and copy of AC along with me as well if need be.
  21. I'm swapping shifts w/my coworker til August so I actually have Fridays free for the next few weeks. If there's room at Ruben's, I'd love to get slapped around at Guilty Gear some. It's been so long.
  22. Online support. And for it to be Accent Core, or at least still have throw breaks, JIs, FRCs, FDCs, 1f jumps, slashbacks, instant blocking and bursts.
  23. That's one of the reasons I like HDR so much - you only have to force 2-3 mistakes in order to win a round. Or even just one mistake, if it's a bad enough one. <3 ToDs. Bip - bip - bip - bap! - dizzy - dead. Love, love, love ... but I'd give it all up for some AC w/GGPO quality netcode. Oh, how I'd love for my understanding of Guilty Gear to be as comprehensive as my understanding of HDR is!
