Chumaralupa Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Nick, Ruben; Heard the new Oh Sleeper album? Hella good, go get it Done annnnnnnnnd, DONE. I'll let you know how I like it. Need anymore sexual tension?
IKRENEGADE Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) I think I would have loved this album a few years ago, right now though my tastes have been mellowing out. Still though, pretty solid metalcore album. I will say though that i still went ahead and got it, I'll give it a solid listen through if I find myself in a hardcore kinda mood. Speaking of music recommendations, mehraj check out you are my sunshine by Copeland. Siiiick album. Edited October 2, 2011 by IKRENEGADE
Greyvangelist Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Speaking of music recommendations, mehraj check out you are my sunshine by Copeland. Siiiick album. You preach to the choir my friend, Copeland's def one of my favorite bands. In Motion and Eat Sleep Repeat are my favorite albums but You Are My Sunshine is really good too. Shame they're broken up though.
IKRENEGADE Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I cannot get over the last track, especially the alternate melody the female vocalist sings about halfway through.
Greyvangelist Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 That album puts me in such a sleepy mood. If you like Copeland you should give Anchor & Braille's album Felt a listen; Copeland's frontman collaborated on it with the lead vocalist of Anberlin. #azdustlooptalksmusic
Chumaralupa Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Talk about bands dis-banding, Atreyu breaking up broke my heart. I can't think of another band that I've enjoyed as consistently as them over the last 6 years.

We need to test how Tager auto-corrected animations for the 360A.

IKRENEGADE Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I listened to copelands older stuff on the road today, I was not nearly as impressed as I am by sunshine, I'll put anchor and braille in my car tomorrow : )
IKRENEGADE Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 double post because Anchor & Braille's album is completely amazing.
Zeromus_X Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Omg, finally have internet at my new place. Jimmy, will you be at PCP this Wednesday? I have some of the money I owe you and your Devastation ticket. If not I can just meet you at Devastation on Friday. Also Brian, I've been looking at the new Innistrad cards, I wonder if you could fill me in on what's good. I really want to build a deck around milling myself cause it sounds so silly. With that said, would anyone like to come over to my place the weekend after Devastation (14th-16th)? It's not much of a "housewarming" anymore, but with my computer here we have one good HD setup and 2-3 pretty big CRTs.
Chumaralupa Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 what about "The white stripes"? Ya know I totally forgot about that band, I'll have to get their newer stuff. double post because Anchor & Braille's album is completely amazing. The sunshine album by Copeland was alright but it felt like I was listening to the same song throughout the cd, it was definitely good background music that I didn't have to pay attention to though. Actually the whole time I was listening to it I kept thinking it was going to crescendo into something epic like Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape from Underoath. Holy shit, that being said I just wiki'd the name of that song and apparently a singer from Copeland is featured singing that song so no wonder why I kept thinking of it....... god I'm good. Mehraj I finished listening to the Oh Sleeper cd like 3 times, it's not bad, but Emery's In Shallow seas we sail kinda set the bar higher for me especially since that type of music is my favorite. That said I like the Oh Sleeper songs past song 3 the best except for the last song. Emery really did make a lot of stuff just sound boring to me. I'll have to check out the Anchor cd.
Ryuuka Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) There's a couple variants on self-mill combos that people have been throwing out there. Necrotic Ooze in play, Mirror-Mad Phantasm in your yard. Activate Mirror-Mad Phantasm's ability on Ooze to mill your whole library in one go. If you run multiple Mirror-Mad Phantasms, you'll need to Surgical Extraction your Phantasm in response to the ability. Flashback Memory's Journey to get your maniac(s) if you don't already have him in play, otherwise flashback Think Twice to win. Then forget about actually pulling this off ever again. Necrotic Ooze in play, Civilized Scholar in yard = Infinite mill as long as you keep discarding creatures. Honestly, Illusions and Pod/Blade decks are still pretty big right now - you'd probably have better luck with those. I want to do some G/B Fight or maybe some Jund Heartless Summoning combos. In Shallow Seas We Sail is pretty stellar so I understand. I do really like Oh Sleeper's new CD but I think Son of the Morning (album before this one) was way better, I felt like it had more songs that stuck in my head... maybe I've just got a special affection for it because that's basically all they played at their set back in June... Amazing live show, they need to come back now. Anchor and Braille is all acoustic pretty much, really soft music. Just be prepared Ruben, haha. Glad to hear you liked it Nick :D TKT if you like The White Stripes have you heard of the album Rome by Danger Mouse? It's awesome, the whole album is like a spaghetti western score and Jack White from The White Stripes and Norah Jones sing on it. Definitely check it out.
IKRENEGADE Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 In shallow seas we sail wins at post-hardcore forever. And yeah sunshine does sound like one song, but to be fair I really like that song. Speaking of awesome albums phoenix's wolfgang amadeus phoenix is insane if I havnt mentioned it before
Theupstreamer Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Jeez now we're talking about Magic AND music?
Chumaralupa Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Anchor and Braille is all acoustic pretty much, really soft music. Just be prepared Ruben, haha. I listened to it in my car today, yeah I didn't really care for it.
Spiteful Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You guys really need to hear the GGXX Sound Alive soundtrack version of the GGXX tunes. I will send it to y'all next time I see any of you on AIM. Jimmy: yeah that was weird, pretty sure it has something to do with Noel's randumb hit-boxes during Chain Revolver.

Chumaralupa Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Hmmm, so since I'm in HoN at 11 am I guess I can't play in BB at noon. I hope our team actually all shows up.

Also hearing a live version of Feedback is jfsaiocsdfjasjirawesome That's the one. Their arrangements of Kage Matsuri and Existence are by far my favorite. Blue Water Blue Sky, Keep Yourself Alive II, The Midnight Carnival, and Noontide are all really good too. Can you believe Bryan and Nick haven't heard these tracks yet? o.0 And yeah, the very first time I heard Feedback, and realized it was all being played live, I had a man-gasm.
Spiteful Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Man, all this music talk really makes me want to play more GGXX music with band Dustloop. Recorded or not, it needs to happen. =D
