Zeromus_X Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Wait you're not going this year Marq? =( Or you're being sarcastic? Also pools for EVO are up: http://evo2013.s3.amazonaws.com/brackets/index.html
Orrax Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Well, looks like Erik might have to play Tempered in the second round: http://evo2013.s3.amazonaws.com/brackets/p4a_c28.html. Good thing it's got "draft" written all over it. Edited July 2, 2013 by Orrax
Omegashrimp Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Anyone else playing at 8 am? Or against James Xie? I play Marvel at 2 pm on Sat in case you were wondering.
LegendaryRath Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Found my pool finally. The only person I'm worried about is Tokido and not actually that much. Marvin consoled me and found some VERY recent footage of a grand finals set. He seemed OK, but gave me the impression that he doesn't really play this game. The mirror match worries me more than anything xD Also, Eric.... Bananaken in your pool x.x GAWD
Valthazeryus Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) I wouldn't underestimate Za Murderface. Edit: After Wang quoted that, I re-read that. So he got into GRAND FINALS with his "OK" impression/knowledge of the game? Edited July 2, 2013 by Valthazeryus

You'd do well not to be overconfident, as he's a pro player for a reason.

(Not saying you don't play the game, it's supposed to be a complement)
Theupstreamer Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Lol, I don't think anyone needs training on how to spend money. Especially before a trip to Vegas. You're my favorite person on here, John.
LegendaryRath Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Edit: After Wang quoted that, I re-read that. So he got into GRAND FINALS with his "OK" impression/knowledge of the game? Ya, here's the set. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOOoHVqPSR8 edit: looks like there was a second video I missed. Two 5/9 sets? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5yVt5Tn8AU Edited July 2, 2013 by LegendaryRath

Valthazeryus Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 What I'm saying is that you might think that's just "OK" level gameplay from your point of view, giving me the impression you think that getting to grand finals at SEAM2013 must've been free if two foreigners just came in who barely play the game and manage to both get into top. I'm saying you shouldn't underestimate your opponents at these big events just because you're not familiar with them. And if you do play against Tokido and lose, I, personally, don't want to read on here about you complaining about his "OK" gameplay. If you're playing Mitsuru at EVO and you play against Tokido, then you don't have a right to complain about errors or which moves are "bullshit" or better than your's. In mirrors, it all comes to who is the better player.
M19Kamikaze Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Wait you're not going this year Marq? =( Or you're being sarcastic? No, I'm not going. Classes, literally start next week and being an art major, that's where all my money goes.
Zeromus_X Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Oh I see, I didn't know what you meant by "yeah, right"...that sucks. I hope you'll still stream monster it up.

It seems weird to me to type things like abbreviations or "ok" without capitalizing them. I'm not going to be a bitch about this. I'm saying I think I can beat him, not that I'm guaranteed to. Forums are retarded as fuck sometimes because you say something thinking you got your view across but it rarely turns out that way. Tone and implications can be taken any direction by whoever reads them. I've actually been called out before because I complimented someone... That said, I really REALLY do understand what you're saying and agree with it. It's clear that he has incredibly good fundamentals, but from what I've seen it's also clear that he probably goes all out on other games, taking Persona more casually. Fundamentals matter more than most things though. And I WILL continue to call out Chie's stupid properties and such, because she's too damn good. And I will complain about Yukiko's terrible (amazing?) 5A. edit: YOOO I get to play with a guy names OutlawVineger. I love how creative people are. Edited July 2, 2013 by LegendaryRath
