LegendaryRath Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Actually this picture says otherwise In all honesty though, Koko is Loco and also bananas. Thanks for the smiles
Valthazeryus Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 That infinite blockstring isn't infinite Hmm. What was this called again in English? Synecdoche?
Omegashrimp Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hmm. What was this called again in English? Synecdoche? Jimmy, you are the best at what you do.
Chumaralupa Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Speaking of stuff that seems broken, what the hell is this? -> http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22718136 That's called giving a balanced character a good option.
Zeromus_X Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22718136 I'm guessing that requires 3x Power Charge and a CH, but still...lol.
LegendaryRath Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I'm guessing that requires 3x Power Charge and a CH, but still...lol. He sets it up two other times. Non-CH does 9k lol. A short combo kills Kanji xD
Chumaralupa Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 What? No, it was just one SB Charge, although now I wonder what two of them with awakening meter would result in?
Theupstreamer Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I don't think I could ever take GG seriously enough for a tournament. I don't have a firm foundation for the controls still and too many unpredictable things happen even to this day.
Loli Bacon Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hmm. What was this called again in English? Synecdoche? No. It's called mis-information. This is synecdoche: That's honestly everyone's reasoning.
Chumaralupa Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Rachel's guaranteed guard crush setup in CT, and you guys didn't bitch about that. xD Actually we didn't know any better and it took us too long to realize how BBCT was amongst the worst fighting games ever made. In Rachel's case, she was stupid yes, but she was still overshadowed by NU-13. If it was just us bitching about how shattered Kokonoe is, I'd agree that we're just bad, but obviously the entire community is bitching.

The entire community outside of top level players is also pretty babied about this sort of thing (Eddie lolol). Most top level players think she's really strong, yes, but they are indifferent about the ban. It's really the mid-level and low-level players who truly care.
LegendaryRath Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I'd recommend giving factual arguments from now on, rather than just insulting people. Reading a lot of your posts seem like you're really reaching to rip apart (sometimes even kindhearted) posts.
Valthazeryus Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Stop arguing and follow your motherfucking dreams. http://youtu.be/OfVh1v7GGKY
Loli Bacon Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I'd recommend giving factual arguments from now on, rather than just insulting people. Reading a lot of your posts seem like you're really reaching to rip apart (sometimes even kindhearted) posts. I haven't insulted anyone on purpose. If anyone felt insulted, I mean, if the shoe fits. Honestly regardless of what I bring up, her "potential" is too good for anyone else to care. And while people are bitching that it's too much effort to learn the matchup, that there are 25 other characters they have to learn the matchup for, as a competitive player you should worry about the one that is more difficult for you; the matchup that is more likely to come accross. Playing Guilty Gear, I can say that I never played against a good Millia (I never played Ray; I think Ray would consider himself bad, knowing how modest he is), but I didn't focus on that matchup because she wasn't likely to appear. Playing Arcana Heart, I didn't focus on the Yoriko matchup AT ALL (still don't know it in the slightest) because I worried more about Maori, Elsa, and Weiss. Just because not every single character is viable at tournament level (even with her ban, Izayoi and Amane are still going to be trash) doesn't mean the game is no longer competitive; if you pick a terrible character, expect to have terrible matchups. If you pick a character that has a bad matchup against a top tier character, expect to learn that matchup inside and out. If you want to use facts for this argument, the fact is there is no evidence that she is unbeatable at a tournament level. There is POTENTIAL, but we aren't discussing theory with you, otherwise all of this would be moot. She is honestly being banned on the premise that "she's too strong (theoretically)". There are facts like what she CAN do, but there are also facts like what she can be punished for, what isn't safe, and what she can't do. I'm just saying with the current logic going on with this subject, I'm surprised CS1 Litchi (I can't get out of Great Wheel Oki mindlessly and she gets 6k meterless bnbs wahhhhhhh) wasn't banned immediately.
Chumaralupa Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Ted, did you read the voting page essay? The top players care, and are really the only ones who seem to have a valid say in the matter at a tournament organizing level. I think that voting page didn't really tip the scales in a way that they weren't already regardless. I think it was a formality such that "if we do ban Koko will the entire community be pissed?" Well the answer was no apparently. Also CS1 Litchi was very good, but Bang was also batshit insane and she wasn't the end-all of all characters like Koko is in terms of pastabilities, nobody even considered ever banning her. Ted, go learn Tao like you were, she's still top-tier, but fair. Also Amane is fine.

Goddamn it. xD Honestly, I don't care if she's banned, I told Erik I was planning on playing Litchi if she was regardless, but I think it's stupid how they're going about handling it. If the string is truly an issue, just ban the string > blackhole instead of the character. EDIT: You know what? Just ban her at our ranbats, I was the only player using her anyway. I'll just actually learn Litchi now, maybe. I'd rather know now than putting in more lab work just for it to be all for naught. Edited January 22, 2014 by Loli Bacon
Valthazeryus Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 (even with her ban, Izayoi and Amane are still going to be trash) Amane and Izayoi are still pretty good if you play against players that actually use them as their forte. I've played against really intense Amane's and Izayoi's and even Ruben saw. And he learned a lot from them, too. Like how to do 4k 2orb meterless. I'm surprised CS1 Litchi (I can't get out of Great Wheel Oki mindlessly and she gets 6k meterless bnbs wahhhhhhh) wasn't banned immediately. Litchi on the other hand though took practice. And she couldn't really afford to drop it and pick it up for free, like some characters, because that rack gives her back problems.

The thing is, if SCR doesn't ban her then I'd rather not as well so that the people here who plan on competing can get as much practice against her as possible before running headfirst into the train at SCR.

Well considering how everyone is reacting to her infinite blockstring, I'd say whether I played her and gave you guys matchup experience or not is moot; you'll still just eat the infinite blockstrings and lose, guaranteed.

Well to be fair I guess, I'm not actually entering SCR, so it's probably moreso Jimmy's call on what he wants to do, I mean the RanBats ARE half his idea.
LegendaryRath Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm with whatever side has more free food. That would be Jimmy's side. Also, I may bake some brownies or cookies for the next one. I do that sometimes.
kenja0 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Players can't adapt too well. I think she's OP but I still want to play against her because it makes me work harder and smarter. Also, as irritating as the match up is, I do have a lot of fun playing it. Besides a patch is inevitable. If she's nerfed to holy hell, this character will never be playable.
LegendaryRath Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm doubtful we'll receive a patch. Just... don't count on it.
Valthazeryus Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't think there will really be a patch for a while, cause there are just too many characters to make changes to. Lazy ArcSys will probably stay lazy.
