So BladeDiva, JUST got your message on XBL since I actually was on my console for an extended period of time because of SC5 (no seriously according to the game I already played 10 hours).

Anyways, even though I got the message two weeks old, I'd like to say that since this coming Friday might be one of the last two gatherings I'll EVER have my house, you should try to come up.

Friday 6pm and later etc. same ol' same ol', I might go out and get some food again since I need to make use of this 20$ BBQ as much as I can before I leave.

Welp, Soul Calibur 5 is complete ass. instead of adding to the game, I think the producers decided to TAKE from it. I know most people don't play fighters for the story, but this shit is ridiculous. There's just so much wrong with this game...

Oh, and unfortunately, I won't be making that trip to Vegas. Health issues (again) and what not.

The gameplay itself has some fun changes, but I agree the story was horrible. My major concern with the game is that it does feel like there wasn't enough content to warrant 60 bucks. It's like they wanted to test out the new mechanics and see if they were popular enough to release 6 with the same style of gameplay and all the rest of the content they skipped out on this.

At the very least, with a less than 3 hour long story mode (assuming you watch all the cutscenes) everything should have been done in CGI instead of those paper scroll cutscenes that were just plain ugly to watch.

So it's like the Soul Calibur version of KOF12 (is that the right game?)

I liked the paper scroll cutscenes, just not all the time. I can't get mad at move changes as they come with every new game, but yes, the story and lack-off story was just bad. My only other quip is the Critical Edges. Instant, Pure invincibility, FREEZES EVERYTHING so you better be blocking/not attacking... They make the game brutal.

Oh, and PSN is skippy like peanut butter. If you have it for 360, let me know how the netplay is.

I am rather enjoying the character creation.

Not all of the critical edges are that good. They actually have a lengthy startup time, though once they activate it's basically instant. The only good ones IMO are Ivy/Astaroth/Ezio for being throws, and Nightmare's for having GI through the entire thing.

Legendary Souls is complete BS, though. I don't know how anyone would ever manage to beat it, as I wasted an hour trying to beat Kilik and then gave up.

The creation is cool, but still using SC4 items. Bit lazy on the game makers' ends. And I guess I'll stop by PCP tomorrow.

And there are things FAR worse than Kilik...

Critical Edges are pretty fast but you can block after activation if you were in neutral.

All Games Jimmy, well god hope Marq can come and bring dat Blaz. I'm going to get the other type of burger, angus beef or whatever the other one was.

I wouldn't mind the Bacon weaving but the cleanup was horrendous, so I'd rather you didn't.

Ya'll can come anytime after 6.
