Blackgenma Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 naw, even if you can't communicate, 2 vs 2 is where it's at. that's why you have the message system, which is all fine and good if the other player actually listens to you (and you listen to them). plenty of my matches are epic when I play with the JP (who is all I ever play with most of the time anyway) a good player will know why they lost and avoid making the same mistakes in future matches the more they play 2 vs 2, so things like communication other then the message system is not really needed if both players generally know what they are doing. 1 vs 1 aren't boring to me, but they aren't anywhere near as fun as 2 vs 2 matches. points are for shit and giggles, as well as practice. I enjoy it thanks to the lack of competitive tension, which is a nice change of pace. needs to get less crappy with paradigm.
Xithmos Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 True, but even then some players won't act with or without the system. That's why I prefer to play with someone that has a mic. Now that isn't always the case. When I played with other Japanese players, they seem to always know what to do in every situation (back me up when I'm dying, clear a group of servants, capture ghosts, etc). I miss 2v2's. :<
Blackgenma Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 everyday I decide to play GG2, I manage to play 2 vs 2's with few exceptions, because I'm an insomniac. they are easy to find, considering you don't mind staying up late.
Sol.Badguy Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 You can always count me in ^^, sorry again about that last match we had when I couldn't "gather up", I wish they had an "I can't I need to kill these guys over here advancing to my masterghost" instead of "No way" so it didn't sound like I was just ignoring it xD.
Blackgenma Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 when I checked what you were doing while I was facing the two, you were killing an armor and a mobile unit in the corner of the map, at an isolated ghost on our side (and it wasn't next to your masterghost). seeing as that wasn't your master ghost, and I was dealing with the two enemy masters about 2 minutes, you got distracted by shit that wasn't the most pressing issue. if you had units advancing towards your master ghost, you should have had servants defending that spot. I know your master ghost was assaulted right before I was pinned down by both enemy masters, but I could have sworn we took care of all or most of them when I went to help. meh. I would look in the replay if I cared to confirm what I just said, but whatever, and I doubt it's possible now.
Sol.Badguy Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I came to try to help after I killed a few but there were still guys going to my Masterghost. I thought I had guy there though but I guess I forgot. Btw, does anyone know why it says people have different versions sometimes when trying to join games >.<?
Blackgenma Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I don't know either, it's pretty inconvenient when that stuff happens, usually when I try to set up games with other Americans. since I don't really do that any more, I don't run into that problem.
Sol.Badguy Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Man I really learned some NEW stuff about the gigant yesterday, mainly concerning his ranged upgrade. Like, that if he hits a master with all of it, it kills the master + the master can't block it I guess(keyword:if). But mainly the kind of damage it can do to a master ghost o.o, if you could somehow get the barrier to 0% and have your gigant shoot it with ranged upgrade, its game :D, the only problem is..well...everything. Btw, With upgrades like mobile, does it make him do more damage to armor units? and would a mobile upgrade make him take more damage from melee servents? Oh and I tested that thing about using a mouth zipper on quadro baliff. Didn't work. He still switched between sword and bow attack :/

Oh and I tested that thing about using a mouth zipper on quadro baliff. Didn't work. He still switched between sword and bow attack :/ the upgrades for the gigant do not change its attributes, it behaves like a armor unit regardless of the upgrade. the thing with the quadro baliff and the mouth zipper works perfectly fine, I tested it out plenty, and the GG2 wiki confirmed that the shooting mode has a 15 second cool down upon activation or something along those lines. you want a way to mess with the mode changes? go up to a quadra baliff, and watch it go into shooting mode. run out of it's range, and it will go to normal mode. go back up to it, it won't go to back into shooting mode for a while (like 15-30 seconds) to shooting mode is a item ability it has, and locking the item slot will prevent him form activating it. if you put it on him whilst he's in shooting mode already, you wasted a mouth zipper.
Sol.Badguy Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I could have sworn I hit him with it when it said sword above him, but it doesn't really matter for me since I'm not smart enough to remember to use items =[
Blackgenma Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 you know, I rarely have the time to hit the thing with it, since I'm always fighting some body when they poop the unit out. the most effective thing I can say to use is a scare crow, because even without the range mode activated, the unit has considerable range. mouth zipper is active for 30 seconds when placed on a servant. it's worth using it depending on the situation. Gigant is such a bad unit, it's sad that I'm forced to use it on occasion.
Xithmos Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Good games Sol Badguy. BTW, you use your Y attacks waaay to much as Sin. Besides AudioHaddock, were the other 2-3 guys Japanese as well?
Sol.Badguy Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Haha I was sin, what do you expect? xD. I believe the other guys were isiko3(I play with him quite a bit) and Hirokosuke. Good games though :D It was nice to see you back on in a while. I think I'm going to switch back to maining Sol btw. Talking with Kou after a while has inspired me...sorta.
Xithmos Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Kou talks? <_< Any who, you should use moar 4X and X to poke. The guy that played Sol saved my ass so many times when AudioHaddock kept jumping me. You'd best to switch back to Sol. Sin is mai maine. Or I'll use Izuna since 6X~4X canceling is OP.
Blackgenma Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Don't play sol! he's so bad! playing him is insanely frustrating at times. INSANELY FRUSTRATING. theres also the laggy online matches that don't let you reversal your opponent, which is one of Sol's best features. I don't even try to reversal people any more online, it only comes out when I'm VERY lucky. Sol has his moments, but he's got it so bad it's crazy. what were you talking to kou about by the way? spamming 8y with raven is da best. is he attacking my units? 8y! is he attacking me and wiffing? 8y! is he back stepping? 8y! is he trying to run away? 8y! it's nice to actually have range after playing Sol and paradigm so much. Edit: kou talks if you send him some messages. the guy is almost never on when I play though.
Xithmos Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Get on and play with us right now. We have 1 spot open Boundary.
Blackgenma Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I can only play when I'm at my friend's house. I never post here when I'm on GG2. that's why I only play on the weekends. don't own a 360 but my copy of GG2 is mine alone.
Xithmos Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 The Hoshi no Kaabii guy and I work really well with each other. I'm never going to forget what happened today. I counter burst against KOU and Hoshi comes up with a 8Y cannon to get the kill while KOU is still in mid air from my burst.
Blackgenma Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 don't characters who shoot projectiles constanly stay back and shoot projectile to support? that doesn't sound like anything out of the ordinary is you ask me. I mean, it's what they are meant to do.
Xithmos Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 No, since that isn't what I do with Valentine in GG2 and Nu in Blazblue. Hoshi is a pretty good about going up for pressure and unblockables (]L[8X), he'll only use it to prevent someone from running. The guy was trying to score hits from behind to go for aerial combos, but I thought it was cool since he killed him off of my counter burst.
Blackgenma Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 ugh, don't compare this to blazblue, especially since the example you used from it doesn't even fit the scenario. the general rule with character that can out-zone another character is to utilize that ability. this is more blatantly utilized in a 2 vs 2 or 2 vs 1 situation since one guy can engage the opponent up close, and the other can sit back and shoot, which usually grants better results than something like two sol's scrambling to catch an opponent (not that it's something to laugh in some cases, but you get the idea)
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I stay back and shoot shit with Val, I still manage to fail at it.
Blackgenma Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Kimera Cryin Vs. Boundary (Me) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/1265563561 Underworld Hill 2 look at me get my ass kicked. Edit: someone translate this for me please: 今回の対戦相手は動画はじめて?の外国人様です。 日本の初心者よりウマかったです I'm not certain of the meaning of the second line using a translator.
Sol.Badguy Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 He bought wisemen o.o lol. I've gotta play Sol anyway cuz he's so much fun ^.^ even if it means getting raped. I love his guard break SO much too. And yes Kou messages and talks to me quite a bit, we even do some 1v1s so he can help me get my Sol better, he believes that Sol and Ky, Played right, Are the best 1v1'ers.
Hoshi no Kaabii Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I think the second line might mean something along the lines of "You're more of a noob than a Japanese horse."
