If we had a box around our character that would mean you could get hit when the sprites did not even touch one another.

DFO like other similar games uses collision detection based on the sprites not a "hit box" hit boxes are used in shooters and other games but sprite based games like this use a collision detection engine.

The end of your weapon does count with collision detection since that would be one of the colliding objects that registers but there is no such thing as a "hit box" in this type of game.

I am almost shocked that a real person said that
