Jackie Chandler Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hey guys, things aren't going as smoothly as I'd hoped with the Dazzle Plus HD. It's still dropping frames everywhere, and I'm beginning to think it's my laptop. I'm defragmenting now in hopes it helps, but I'm doubtful. Hopefully it'll all be fixed before the tournament. If not, if any of you all have a laptop that has better system specs than one with AMD Turion x2 2.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM that you'd be willing to volunteer for recording, that'd be really cool. Also, if you guys want to have two set-ups for recording, I'm still looking for someone with a Firewire-enabled computer. Most Macbooks are enabled with them, and iMovie works fine with the Firewire Dazzle I have. I'd imagine PC laptops would work fine, too, but I haven't had any personal experience with one. As for the actual tourney, I'm REALLY looking forward to it! Can't wait to see what kind of competition Tennessee offers live! Less than a week away! :D

And Chandler, I would bring my laptop, but it's about 4 years old (it would drop frames too). Maybe Milln can still bring his recording setup, and others should bring theirs if they have one.

Granted, it would take some convincing to bring it considering it's his work laptop, and its specs are only slightly better than mine. But I'll give it a try tomorrow and see how it records. If it works all right and he lets me, I'd be more than grateful. X3

Can't wait for the vids of me barely winning 7:3 matchups (Astaroth and Boomcube) and getting flattened in an even matchup (Midnight). Man I suck lol. But yeah I really had a good time! Not only were they really close, but they were entertaining as well. After winning those two matches in a row in the loser's finals, I was expecting to take it. But, I got too confident or something, and mis-setting my RC button hurt too. Definitely GG's. Midnight - Curse you for winning yet another tournament without facing me. How do the brackets always fall that way? Oh well, we had lots of great casuals, and it was a great compliment to be the first Tager to consistently beat your Litchi. That Lambda though... I gotta learn that matchup. Boomcube - Nice talking to you again, and sorry we didn't get matches in. You were solid though from what I had seen. You better be at the next gathering. Phil - Same as Boomcube, but I didn't even know when you were eliminated. Then you vanished. Tad - You completely disappeared after lunch, but good talking to you. Chandler - It was good meeting you, considering I've played and seen you around on boards for more than a year now. Three astrals in one tournament though? That's a great way to earn some fans... and enemies. :razz: Preacher Man (haha) - Great costume and gimmick. Sorry we didn't get to play, but you did a lot better this time around. Keep up the practice and place top 3 next time. Milln - Again, nice job on the tournament. Everything ran smoothly. But warn me next time you're going to gather everyone around and record the match. I peed a little when I looked around and noticed that the ENTIRE room was watching me. To everyone else - Good games and nice meeting you all. See you all in January or February in the next tournament.

Jackie Chandler Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hey guys, sorry I don't have the videos up yet. I've been busy helping clean the house and get Halloween decorations set up today. My family decided to wait until today to start since I was gone yesterday, so there was quite a bit to do. XD When I had the chances, I've been importing and editing the videos (there were a few instances of button checking and dashboarding :P), and they're all ready to go now. Depending on how long it takes Youtube to put these things up (it's looking to be 40 minutes for a 9 minute video right now... :/) they should be up by tonight. Check 'em out on my Youtube channel here- (http://www.youtube.com/user/JackieChandler) Now, there are a few things I need to address: If I call you the wrong name (or even worse, mix you up with someone else) in the description, PLEASE let me know HERE. I'm not sure I referred to everyone correctly/what they prefer to be called, and I don't want some random Youtube commenter saying "you called me _____ and I actually go by assmunch" or something. XP There are a few videos where you might notice a slight "hiccup" in video and a more prominent one in audio. Those are sections where I edited out button checks/dashboarding- it's not my capture card. And of course, since we were playing on three T.V.s, I was only able to capture footage from one of them. Thankfully, the Loser's Quarter Finals, Loser's Semi Finals, and Finals were played on it so I have those, but most other matches are kind of random. :3 Anyway, hope you all enjoy them once they get up, and I'm looking forward to the next time this rolls around!
