C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Bubble sammich made with a dash player two sounds delicious to me. You're probably right though, it most likely contains big proration pains.
Yggjrasil Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Don't get me wrong though, I also see this as a 100% way to land Astral :3
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I know right? Bondage>Starlight Breaker all over again. I wonder if her command grab is RC'able like Valks...
Cirno Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 >>BROKENTIER HIPNOTIC >>jolly idle animation lol pedos Don't be silly. There's nothing wrong with enjoying her idle animation, and it most certainly is jolly. Maybes tricky delay would open up options for a throw counter GETB style. At the very least the frame advantage is obscene, you could probably land a super during it. Very true! Definitely warrants some testing.
Yggjrasil Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 most command grabs are RC able, hell even May's Overhead Kiss was RC able. I don't know why the hell anyone would RC Overhead Kiss but yeah it was RC able.
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Hmm, it does decent damage, along with an excellent hit box, I could see the followup recovering 35-40 heat too. Cure Dot Typhoon just comes off a little lackluster, so RC's might open up a lot of pathways in terms of damage output with meter.
Yggjrasil Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 just do what Tagers do. Magna Tech Wheel (blocked), RC delay, 360B. or in this case, Cure Dot Typhoon (blocked), RC delay, command grab.
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 That's definitely a great option. I've only seen Typhoon hit once, and it seemed to have nasty knockback, if it doesn't wallbouce you could probably follow up with her corner Bnb.
Cirno Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The Magna Tech Wheel comparison is good, but it's a lot more reaction heavy to try and avoid that if you're standing vs Platinum's, since Cure Dot Typhoon is a lot slower as far as hits go, and there's a delay before the command grab. Presumably of course, but still. Granted, it would still probably work in a lot of situations if your opponent likes to block a lot.
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I wonder if she has guard point during it. She would have to right? Otherwise the animations would be really buggy and the clashing wouldn't work.
Cirno Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Yeah, it would make the most sense for her to have it. Was also re-looking at the Platinum vs Carl match, and I'm trying to remember what move she's using at 3:52. The downwards slam, that groundbounces and has an awful lot of stun, though I can't tell if it's a counterhit or not.
Starlight777 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) That is her midair frying pan item if you pause it you can see she is swinging a small pink pan. Also her weapons are FRIGGIN ADORABLE! EDIT:Also her staff lost its green glow after using this attack so yes its the pan (sorry if redundant lol) Edited November 8, 2010 by Starlight777
Cirno Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 No worries, and good eye, it is indeed the pan. Her counter ran out when she used it last. Seems pretty damned useful, evidently bounces even without counterhit, and standing hit spins them. There's just so much potential with Platinum, and the list of things to experiment with her just keeps getting longer.
Starlight777 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Thanks and I just had a crazy thought! What if the pan was used at the end of an air combo yet the ridiculous bounce from the pan could possibly let Platinum begin another air combo and possibly end with Air Persia? Too bad this is just theory fighter for now. Edit:You know she's looking to be one of the most flexible characters right now with all the possibilities that could be seen with her random drive items. Edited November 8, 2010 by Starlight777
Cirno Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Not so much of a crazy thought. It seems likely unless the stun doesn't last as long later in the combo, or the tech time is increased to the point of another combo being impossible. A super at the end after the pan might still be possible, at the very least.
Hurricane Rev Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Yeah, what Cirno said was right. It would be awesome if that works but the problem with that is that in blazblue, the longer the combos are, the more likely that they can escape out of it. I don't think that you can do your super after it because the ground bounce wasn't really that high and once you get on the ground, they will be able to get up.That is a good thought though. I am very hyped up for Platinum. There are alot of things that I want to try out with her when she comes out. Tao is boring campare to Platinum. She will be so fun to use.
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I can hear Dacid at NCI already. "Pan combo?! Cooking Mama wishes she had a pan like this, oh gawd ANIME INSTALL, HERE WE GO, SPARKLE DAMAGE!" I really hope Typhoon's minimum damage is set high, like Mu12's omihikane, I can realistically imagine it capping every single combo she can dish out.
Hurricane Rev Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 What is the move @ 1:08 in this vid? It looks like a good move
C0R Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I'm pretty sure that's just her punching up a smackdown. From what I can tell her aerials are very multi-hit, like Tsubaki's grounded normals.
Hurricane Rev Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Oh, I see. That is pretty cool I guess. Thanks for that.
K2 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 most command grabs are RC able, hell even May's Overhead Kiss was RC able. I don't know why the hell anyone would RC Overhead Kiss but yeah it was RC able. i will RC OHK flash guard > OHK>rc>2hs>5hs>5hs>s>hs>28s>shs>28s>whale>6p>s>28hs>stun>IK
Marisa Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 While I'm sure most people won't care much, it looks like if you were to RC Platinum's command grab you wouldn't get your drive item refreshed. Her seemingly drive related staff sparkle animation happens at the end of the grab, and I assume that's when the items would refresh. ArcSys may even make it so that the move ends right after the damage is done and then make it so you can't RC the refresh at all.
C0R Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 That's a great observation, I missed that right out.

I guess we could do that when most of her items are stilll there or use it when the person has low life.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 <- Ky approves of this thread BTW now that you're talking about RCing Platina's throw... so far, has anyone done that in videos? Coz IIRC most throws make the rest of attack that follow scale like shit (being the exception Hazama's shit).
