WolfCrimson Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Question about Haku's frame data: Which moves are known to ignore combo rate, and why usn't that info included the framedata? I know Zantetsu(1), Tsubaki, Shippu ignore combo rate, any other moves?
Spark Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Crush trigger ignores character combo rate, hmm didn't notice it wasn't mentioned when I was copying it over from the excel sheets.
itsme Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Also to add, only Shippu (the sword part, not the wave) ignores the combo rate during Mugen, you can't use CT during Mugen and Zantetsu (1) and Tsubaki follows the CR during Mugen.
Sophisticat Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Mac needs to get on Ps3 because we're all on Ps3.
toanenadiz Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 mAc is probably one of the best Hakumen players around though Nah. Mac is free. He just has you guys fooled into thinking he is good.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Nah. Mac is free. He just has you guys fooled into thinking he is good. Yeah seriously all you gotta do to beat mAc is spam raw Terra Breaks everywhere.
dioxideUniversa Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Just curious, but how many of you PS3 using Hakumens would be able to get your hands on a friend's 360. after being out of town for a week: i have access (but not to a 360 stick so)
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Nah. Mac is free. He just has you guys fooled into thinking he is good. Yeah seriously all you gotta do to beat mAc is spam raw Terra Breaks everywhere. Or use Ragna/Valkenhayn or any semi to heavy rushdown characters. Am I the only Hakumen player here who finds this character is hella unfun when playing online due to his combo system? I don't see anyone complaining about it but I know everyone's aware of it who's been at a least a long time Hakumen player. EDIT: @ctrl, how good are you at giving advice to new Hazama players no I don't play nor do I intend to play Hazama.
mAc Chaos Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 after being out of town for a week: i have access (but not to a 360 stick so) You mean only for this week? Maybe there's a friend or something that has a 360 stick out there. Don't worry, I play pad anyway. :3
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 @ctrl, how good are you at giving advice to new Hazama players I get YouTube messages, DL messages, and even XBL messages from people who've watched/read my (shitty ass) old GF guides. I don't mind it but sometimes it starts getting really annoying when all I can really say is "fucking practice it until you can do it." Do you have a new friend who's picking up Hazama or something? Also, I think Haku-men has some really obtuse combos when performed online, but he's also probably one of the easiest to play with a delay.

Yea and it's more along the lines of him knowing what he's doing wrong is why I'm asking. I told him to ask one fo the better Hazama players on dustloop, I can give a general outline of what NOT to do as a player and somewhat with regards to Hazama but I don't play that character so I can't say "do x or y in this situation because Hazama can punish it". I've already told him what he needs to work on and how to do that. But the same way as I was helped by someone who mains Hakumen I could imagine the same thing being beneficial to him. Also with regards to the Hakumen combos online, ctrl, do you regularly play offline as well. @mAc yea Terra Break has blown me up occasionally as well lol.
mAc Chaos Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 It is my kryptonite. It always goes: successfully bait MTW > go to finish Tager off > punish whiffs through TB > die
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 It is my kryptonite. It always goes: successfully bait MTW > go to finish Tager off > punish whiffs through TB > die What you don't realize is that my MTW is all a ruse, I'm only letting it whiff because I know you'll get blown up by TB. He's free to ask for my advice. I don't have a problem with that it's when people ask me how to input very specific things that I start getting annoyed. Like somebody was asking me how to get jB > jCx2 > jCx5 to work properly on Haku-men. I was like "you have to make sure to delay the second jC after the jCx2 for a little bit so Haku-men will bounce high enough" and they responded with something like "how long exactly do you mean?" and I was tempted to say "I dunno, go fucking practice it in Training and maybe you'll figure it out." Also with regards to the Hakumen combos online, ctrl, do you regularly play offline as well. No, I don't play offline at all. I just meant in comparison to Training/offline modes.
Sophisticat Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 I've never really had a problem doing his combos online, but that might be because I'd always been a netplayer prior to going offline. The lag has to be pretty bad for me to switch combos, though I often just DQ in that case.
dioxideUniversa Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 You mean only for this week? Maybe there's a friend or something that has a 360 stick out there. Don't worry, I play pad anyway. :3 as in "i am replying to this 4 page old post because i was out of town" 360 pad is your realm, mac--i would not match you there
mAc Chaos Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Both of us playing on pad is like running a marathon except we both broke our legs beforehand. Except racing with broken legs is my SPECIALTY. Take that dioxide. Also, there's a discussion in the Ragna forums about who's pressure is stronger: Ragna or Hakumen's. I think it's Ragna that has the better pressure. What do you guys think?
kirbster Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Hakumen has the better pressure because fuck Hakumen
Kanashimi Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Also, there's a discussion in the Ragna forums about who's pressure is stronger: Ragna or Hakumen's. I think it's Ragna that has the better pressure. What do you guys think? Haku as we more gimmicks to use than Ragna and some are less predictable as well, however it usaually costs us meter and some form of set up while Ragna has easier outs.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Haku, because Zanshin puts pressure on the opponent even when they're pressuring you.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 snip Thanks, I'll let him know he can contact you in the future, I was going to tell him to see Lich, but I forgot you wrote an FAQ/Guide on how to use Hazama. Both of us playing on pad is like running a marathon except we both broke our legs beforehand. Except racing with broken legs is my SPECIALTY. Take that dioxide. I'm tempted to sig this. Also, there's a discussion in the Ragna forums about who's pressure is stronger: Ragna or Hakumen's. I think it's Ragna that has the better pressure. What do you guys think? Ragna. Though if Hakumen has 3+ stars and the right spacing, Hakumen can be more ambiguous. But Ragna always has the same decent tools, and can be more ambiguous and gimmicky once he has 50% meter. Hakumen has the better pressure because fuck Hakumen lol the hatred the salt That salt bro... Haku as we more gimmicks to use than Ragna and some are less predictable as well, however it usaually costs us meter and some form of set up while Ragna has easier outs. Ragna is gimmicky, like Sol and Jin. Hakumen can be ambiguous like I said though with 3+ stars, without that it's hard for him to open up opponents who know how to block and tech grabs. Haku, because Zanshin puts pressure on the opponent even when they're pressuring you.
MashThat5A Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) Ragna is gimmicky, like Sol and Jin. Hakumen can be ambiguous like I said though with 3+ stars, without that it's hard for him to open up opponents who know how to block and tech grabs. Being gimmicky means they have good pressure right? Hakus trm setups suck right? React to the grab 18 frame overhead is easy to react to right? Haku not having meter is a problem even though he gets it by standing still right? Ragna gets gimmicky when he has 50 meter, Hakumen gets legitimately scarier when he has 37.5% meter. Ragna is better. Edited May 10, 2013 by MashThat5A

I'm surprised a Hakumen main would say Hakumen. I expected all Haku mains to say Ragna.
