Oh wait.

That IS a little different. The video Moblin posted has the other player dropping to the ground and unfreezing instead of still staying up in the air.

That Hakumen disappointed me really hard.  He landed a 5C on a relius later that tournament, ODC cancelled it, and proceeded to Zantetsu into mashing buttons it looked like.

Btw, I've been meaning to try out corner-swaps after I get a confirm into OD while in the corner.

I need to find out which starters are good for corners swaps.

(Starter) -> OD > 5C (or optional gurren if they're standing) --> Zan(1) > Kishuu, 2b >Renka(1) > Kishuu under.   Then you can 2C > Hotaru or just 6c if you are close enough to the corner.

I was experimenting a few months ago with that off his counters, if I can remember.

Back to corner:  5D/2D>Enma, JccOD, Kishuu(The swap happens here), 5C, stuff.

Guess I'll stick this one here for our collection as well.

Its ok, you're doing god's work. I wish I had more time to spend in the lab, but alas...the college life.

While we're talking about sideswaps, you can do things like CH 3C > 2B > Renka > Kishuu > OD (raw) > 5C > stuff. Not sure if it works on everyone though.

Do we have anyone that can translate the text?

OverDrive Yukikaze > Mugen > Shippu > delay Zantetsu(1) > Kishuu > step Agito > Hotaru > Tsubaki > 5C > Renka(1) > Shippu (charge level 2) [8868]

OverDrive Yukikaze > Mugen > Shippu > 6C > Shippu (charge level 2) > delay Zantetsu > step Agito > Hotaru > Tsubaki > 5C > Shippu [8243]

OverDrive Yukikaze > Mugen > Shippu > 6C > Shippu (charge level 2) > delay Zantetsu(1) > Kishuu > step Agito > Hotaru > Tsubaki > 5C > Shippu [8974]

OverDrive Yukikaze > Mugen > Gurren > delay Shippu > delay Zantetsu(1) > Kishuu > step Agito > Hotaru > Tsubaki > 5C > Renka(1) > Shippu (charge level 2) [8976]

OverDrive Yukikaze > Kishuu > 6C (charge level 2) > Mugen > Shippu > Kishuu > 5C > Zantetsu(1) > Renka(1) > Step Agito > Tsubaki > 5C > Shippu [8718]

Not entirely charge what the blue flash when you charge 6C is so I've just left it as "blue charge".  Thanks Schneider-X.  I can probably try translating the combo execution notes as Japanese practice.  It would take a while though since I'm super rusty.

6C (blue charge) is just a lvl 2 charge 6C which will blowback on standing opponents.

Also I'm fairly certain alot of the text is just talking about how you have to play around combo timer by interchanging move orders.

Posted

Yeah i feel like those notes would be the most important.   This is probably the hardest thing any Hakumen main will have to learn, execution wise, in the history of BB.

It's OD Yukikaze though. How often do you think that will come up. There were lots of harder combos, like Mugen ones, in the past. But they just never came up.

I think CS2's extended star heavy BnBs were the most technical. I could never get them back then. It's easier now, but I think move properties changed... oh right, they made Hotaru lift up way higher.

Posted

You'd be surprised. I get OD Yuki all the damn time since everyone wants to mash you out when you activate OD in their face.

Posted

I also hit with OD yukikaze a lot, people want to keep you locked down in OD and they mess up their pressure a lot because of how scared they are.

Which CS2 combos were those Mac?  I can't remember those at all.  All I did midscreen was Renka(1) > Gurren > AD combo.  Never thought it was worth doing anything else outside the corner haha.

Also Mugen will be a bit more viable in 2.0 or sure.  I have no idea if it will be relevant, but it'll be viable.  Especially after console release comes out and everyone has a chance to find out all the routes into it.

There was the Renka (1) > Kishuu > 2C > Hotaru > AD into stuff combo that had super tight timing and took like 6 stars. Then there was one that involved 2C > sj2C > Tsubaki > AD falling j.2C with like one frame between all of them. And a lot of variations in between. These were all midscreen.

OD Yukikaze combos aren't something that would occur too often in an offline match, but its good to know for when it does happen. Plus, you get maximum sweg points.

I was playing around with CSII Hakumen and I found out that you can cancel backwards dash into tsubaki and renka! Literally a few minutes ago I tested this in CP and it works. Does anyone know if this is useful or is it just a useless tech?

Posted

It has been noted, but unfortunately it hasn't seen much use.  It's prohibitively hard to do on arcade stick too from my experience.

The best thing we think you can get out of it in CP is backdash Tsubaki (counter hit) combos into 2a, which you can combo into 5a, 5b, j.b > j.2a, d.j. > j.2c > Agito.

It's cost efficient for the combo for the most part but it's hard to use.

Definitely something to do for sweg points.

As far as I know, he quit playing bb soon after 2.0 hit. Not sure if that's changed recently or not.
