RavenOmni Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Date: December 10th Times: Guilty Gear Start Time: 5pm BlazBlue Start Time: 7pm Come early so you'll have time to register, we open at 3pm on weekdays. If anyone is running late, please let us know by calling us or someone who is already attending. Location: Gameclucks 18717 76th Ave W #A, Lynnwood, WA 98037 Registration Fee: GG:AC: $5 BB:CS: $5 Venue Fee: $5 Pot: This will be decided depending on how many people attend. More than likely it'll be a 70/20/10 split. General: - We have plenty of 360s but for those who absolutely WANT to play on the PS3 then BRING YOUR OWN SETUPS, TVs, consoles, controllers/sticks, games, etc. I can't stress this enough. This goes for Guilty Gear especially. We don't have any PS2s so we need people to bring in their setups. I will be able to supply one setup each for both games but that's all. - Bring your own controllers/Sticks or borrow one from someone else if they'll let you. - Button mapping is allowed. Let your opponent know before hand that you wish to do a button check/mapping - Pausing during a round will count as a disqualification. - The loser is allowed to switch characters, the winner must keep the same character. Rules: Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core - Double Elimination - Timer set to 99 Seconds - Best 2 out of 3 rounds - Best 2 out of 3 matches - Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5 - Button Binding is allowed - EX, Shadow and Gold characters are banned - Kliff and Justice are banned BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Double Elimination - Timer set to 99 Seconds - Best 2 out of 3 rounds - Best 2 out of 3 matches - Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5 - Button Binding is allowed - Unlimited Characters are banned - Valkenhayn is Banned --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This upcoming Friday we are having an All Night LAN at Gameclucks from when we open (3pm) till whenever. Typically we have the Halo community that comes in these nights but Chris has given me permission to partition off a section of the backroom for this event. If some of the Halo guys come in more than likely the middle section will be reserved for them. We'll have enough room regardless. Like last time, for the first 15 entrants, $1 of your venue fee will go towards the pot, everyone after that will have $2 of your venue fee towards the pot. Want a higher pot payout? Bring whoever you can. This goes for both games. If we can get enough setups I'll section off a section for Casuals for both games. I will also try to have a station or two for BB:CS open for Casuals while GG:AC is running. I'll work with what we are able to work with. And to those who weren't able to make the last events, I apologize for the short notice. I'll do what I can to remedy that issue in the future. Also as a note, if for whatever reason there isn't many people for either game, the Tournament will be played Round Robin style instead of Double Elimination. ========================================== Date: Saturday, December 18th IMPORTANT NOTE: Chris is also hosting Tournaments this same day in Portland, Oregon. If enough people want to do GG and BB and bring setups he will be willing to hold a GG and/or BB Tournament on the side. If you can make this event then please do so. The Tournament in Portland takes priority over the one at GCs. Kaigu Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 "- Valkenhayn is Banned" Sad times. I might show up anyways if others are down.
huey253 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 idk if i'm supposed to be somewhere on friday or saturday, but i'll be there if i can
RavenOmni Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 You have all day and night so whenever you have time. Typically our All Night LANs close around 7-9am depending on who's closing, or in some cases, we don't close period. The decision to ban Valkenhayn came from the previous Tournament but you're free to do what you want during Casuals.
huey253 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 bachelor party on friday so I'll be too drunk to drive. sorry
gameclucks Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I will take a gamble and go for the $5 Venue Fee at All Night LAN for this event.
Kuuhaku Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Last week was pretty bad for me, but I can probably swing Saturday evening if anyone else is going. :3
RavenOmni Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 I'll be in Saturday, anyone else who wants to come by is welcome. Just remember we do have a fee for different hours. I'll have the info for the December 18th Tournament up soon guy's, so stay tuned =D
gameclucks Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Dec 18th event is already posted. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10632-TourneyPlay-Portland-Dec-18th-2010-w-NBA-Sponsorship-of-the-event
RavenOmni Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 I was talking about the one that'll be at GC for those who can't make it to the Portland Event. If you can make it to Portland though guys make that the priority.
Adelheid Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Super QQs, but I don't think I can go to this. I suddenly became a bit behind on a project and should really be focusing on college over video games.
Kuuhaku Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Lol. This week is tough because a lot of us have finals. But we'll do what we can to show up.
RavenOmni Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, sorry for the late response, been a rather hectic week. Chris said we could partition off four TVs specifically for the Tournament, if anyone brings a TV and a setup in we can work it in somewhere. I'll have things situated later today before everything. Hope to see you guys there tonight, also, good luck to everyone with finals =D I've also added the information for the December 18th event(s). Edited December 10, 2010 by RavenOmni
RavenOmni Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 Take it people had finals and such? Things were pretty dead last night, no problem though. Thanks to KayEff for coming out, it was fun =D. If anyone can make it to the one next Friday, awesome.
Kuuhaku Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Next week should be better. We appreciate you hosting. :3
RavenOmni Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 No problem at all, just trying to do my part for the community.
RavenOmni Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Just a reminder guys, for those who cannot make the TourneyPlay event this Saturday in Portland, I will still be hosting a GG/BB Tournament at Gameclucks that day for those unable to make Portland.
huey253 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 valkenhayn has been released for 360, so there isn't much of a reason to keep him banned. The argument was that 360 people would be at a serious disadvantage againist Valkenhayn, due to how much harder it is to combo him than it is normal characters. I guess he does the most dmg in the game but thats not important
Jais Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I've never heard of a char being banned for a wonky hitbox...
huey253 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) me either, but thats why the did it at NEC, so you should ask them why if you want to know. EDIT: I actually asked them why they banned him before NEC, and I thought it was somewhat of a legit reason, so I brought it up here. Edited December 16, 2010 by huey253
RavenOmni Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Yeah, I've been juggling the Valkenhayn situation for the past week now. Personally, if people want to use him sure but then there's the issue of is it fair... yet. It's been a little over a week now, couple that with video footage that's been out for months, match up discussion, etc. I'd say there's enough info wise to be somewhat knowledgeable on how to approach him.
Adelheid Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I need a ride to this. Can anyone give one?
