flytai45 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 So I had trouble fighting a rachel (lol) a few moments ago and came here for advice only to discover that there was no matchup thread for jin vs rachel so i decided to make my own !!!! Anyways the trouble I've been having with her goes as follows: 1. On wakeup they always use that electric cat move (Nago) and if i dash in and bait it, i try to punish with 5c and get hit so i didnt really know what to do about that. 2. I couldn't figure out how to play this match like whether I should Pressure her or let her come to me. he reason i say this is that when i pressure her like i said before they do that electric cat move or try to keep me out with projectiles but when i let her come to me i couldnt figure out how to break out of her strings so my only choice was to wait for when i saw a HUGE gap or when i saw her use her wind to stay in..... (any advice)
Zeromus_X Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 No need to bait it, just start grabbing her on her wakeup (you can grab her out of cat chair), she should stop using it like that right quick. If you do bait it, it's like -30something, just gotta wait until after the spark appears to CH her. It doesn't guard point from the start either, so a meaty attack should CH her if she tries it too. So she's pretty much free on wakeup. =(

Moy_X7 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Slowly work your way in, dash and barrier break and try not to IAD too much because you'll get hit by random Lobelias. Rachel will only come to you when Pumpkin is out or if George has you locked down, be ready to react to an overhead if it's the latter. Condition her into never using cat chair as a free way to get out of pressure, grab her out of it or be ready to bait a burst if you 2C FC her after she recovers from cat chair. Her pressure is balls, go read her Revolver Action chart from the frame data in order to learn her gatlings and jump cancelable moves so that you can learn what her pressure options are. Throw some 236Bs to punish her if she's being too predictable with her Lobelias and DP A her at max range out of the air after you condition her into throwing out Lobelias in the air.

Moy_X7 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I suck at explaining things, I learned how the frame chart works mostly on my own with the exception of me having to ask what P1/P2 stood for. The Revolver Action Table is self-explanatory, I really don't see how you don't get how that one works. tl;dr - sorry but I can't help you with that because I suck at explaining things, I think there's a link to the beginner guides in the home page.

The Revolver Action table lists normals (ex: 5A) along the y-axis. Along the x-axis are categories of normals (A, B, C, etc.) and other cancels (dash, jump, special, super, and throw). Each category of normal (A, B, C, etc.) lists what normals, if any, that the normal along the y-axis can cancel into. So, for example, Rachel's 5A can cancel into (another) 5A, 2A, 6A, 5B, 2B, etc. The cancel categories (dash, jump, special, etc.) detail whether that normal has these capabilities (Rachel's 5A, for example, is jump, special, super, and throw cancellable).
