Jigoku_Roa Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Well that sucks I only gained 50 cents Friday when I realized the results.
Dios <-X-> Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 will the Pc ver. of guilty gear support TE sticks? I used to play GG up until #Reload.
shtkn Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 there is no announced pc version of ac. just ps3/360.
glod Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 ah, well, there goes that idea. Once the 360/PSN versions of GG come out that'll make things much easier...
jinxhand Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 So for those that don't know, there is no more CO-- as in dude just cleaned the place out and dipped... Dunno all of the details yet, but I'm searching... Maybe a relocation, but it's uncertain...
Wild Wallice Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) Doesn't mean it does a good job of it. Word is that one of the reasons why backwards compatibility was pulled was because not even Sony knew how to emulate their own shit properly. I've heard that ps3 is a suboptimal platform to play GG on, and whenever I see it being played, its always on ps2. The ps3 apparently makes it lag from what I've heard, even if you don't have upscaling or any fancy stuff on to fix the aspect ratio. I can ask when we go on Tuesday if they have a CRT monitor lying around. They might actually have one, who knows. Additionally, I am working on another solution. We'll see how it goes. Jigoku_Roa Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 On a side note, (nothing important) we to try to chat on the Facebook page, cause it's sounding dead with invites for events now, we need to start using that more now, and tell them what's going on in the group now.
Dios <-X-> Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 People do play guilty Gear Ac on PC I believe. And play online with it. Not sure how to get it though. Not sure if it was for sale, or the cab roms got leaked and people emu it. Edit : nvm. I think its #Reload on PC.
shtkn Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 currently ac is on comp through emulation. we don't allow piracy discussion on these forums obviously, so please don't discuss getting ac+emu any further.
glod Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) Well I made a post asking about CRTs on the facebook group, so hopefullly we can convince someone to bring one edit: From the facebook post: "what's wrong with HDTVs that have the correct inputs?" I'm assuming it's a lag issue but before I answer this incorrectly I wanted to check Edited May 7, 2012 by glod
Wild Wallice Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) Flatscreen MONITORS are probably going to be ok. I'd even say that ANY monitor would work fine provided it had composite inputs. They're monitors designed for computers, so they will more likely to have acceptable levels of lag that are unnoticeable, because they need to keep up with the computer's actions. Flatscreen tvs, or hdtvs, whatever you want to call them, are completely different. They are designed with the assumption that you will be watching things on them, not using them for anything else. What matters in that situation is whether things look pretty or not. Almost all hdtvs will lag badly, even when set to the most basic settings with all extra stuff turned off. This is because they have a hardwired post-processing of the signal, which is already lagging because its digitial, so you end up with dogshit. We need a CRT TV or a computer monitor that accepts composite cables, and in the latter case we will still have to test it to make sure it doesn't lag. Like I said, I am working on another solution. Might not work out though. About the FB group: Yeah we can talk more on there I guess. We pay more attention to this thread because we know a majority of the people who show up every week have accounts here and pay attention. Not everyone here has a FB account, so we can't use FB to the exclusion of this thread. Hell, the FB group originally was supposed to consist of new people we picked up from Box Arena or just random dudes who saw our advert on their stream or at Frubble. So far as I can tell, none of that really worked out. I'll try to post more on the FB group but it seems kinda redundant since the only people using it are people in this thread really. Wild Wallice Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Solution finished. I will have a Accent Core setup that should be compatible with ps3/360 sticks, te or otherwise, on Tuesday and Friday.
Dios <-X-> Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 If someone brings a Guilty Gear set up on tuesday that will support TE sticks that would be neat-o.
glod Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I think Wallice is doing that. Personally i am hoping to just get some decent BB time in while running the SG stuff
Jigoku_Roa Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Good shit tonight guys. Here's the game we should have for Friday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md33X8cAQRI
jinxhand Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 So... What's the game lineup looking like for Friday??? We got some cats over at Dreamcancel that are gonna go to Frubble, myself included...
glod Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 These for sure: BBCSX, Guilty Gear, KoF13, and Skullgirls. If there's enough people that want to play them we can also run: Melty Blood, Arcana Heart 3. Also we're probably going to be running Jackie Chan at some point because that game's amazing. Good shit last night guys, that was the most fun I've had at BSL so far. Running the stuff and commentating was great. Also this is what the people at Wendy's last night thought of us:
glod Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I know me, Wallice, and Roa will play it if you wanna bring it along. Maybe others. I'd say just ask about it when you arrive. We're pretty open to just playing whatever people want to play. I think you're the only one that has Vsav ready to go though, so you'd have to be the one bringing it.
Wild Wallice Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Friday is gonna see our second Blazblue tournament. That is the main event. Skullgirls, as always, will be on the side. Depending on the numbers we might run that too. Two new groups will be showing up on Friday for the first time: Dreamcancel and those Guilty Gear players we met before. We are going to try and accommodate both groups, so the main games will probably be BB, GG, and KoF. SG is going to take second priority because people already get a lot of it on Tuesdays. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to request we not mash any random fighters from this point forward. This means no Vsav or Melty or the like. We need to make sure we have both room and time to get the bigger games out of the way. Depending on what happens Friday and how many people show, it just might end up being "just play whatever fucking game you want" anyway. Jinx, I posted on Dreamcancel, but I'll repeat it here just in case you see it here first: I talked with Frank about having KoF as a regular thing at Box Sessions Live, he said we could give it a shot. We're having a tournament on Tuesday, the 15th. Going by the Skullgirls example, if that does well, KoF will start getting stream time the week after, and if it doesn't then it'll just be forgotten. Get hype and make sure to let people know whats going down on Tuesday.
Ichipoo Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Don't think I can make it this Friday as well unfortunately as I'm going to be studying for four finals, all which are going to be on next Monday and I really want to finish this semester strong. As for CO, yo wtf happened? And having GGXXAC as a main game for our meetups has me excited for next Friday.
Watermelonz Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I'm probably not gonna be able to go this Friday's meetup, I'm not sure yet. For now, assume that I can't make it.
