LastStarSaviour Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Black ops? get that FPS bull crap out of here. I wanna see combos, not a guy getting headshots while the other guy is left thinking "Where the fuck is this guy sniping from?" As for that other stuff congrats Milln. I'd love to enter a Brawl tourney and kill everything with my Pikachu, Brawl happens to be my number one proest game ever. ^_^
Astaroth136 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Everyone missed it. I was using a non-Tager character last night. Felt weird...
Grimstar Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 hey kids, watch me suck at SSF4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AWIo9cD6wg&feature=feedu (note to self, do not intake large amounts of alcohol the night before a tourney, hang overs FTL) AND WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT BULLSHIT ULTRA @ 2:00 HUH?!?!
Storyteller Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I'd like to get someone to teach me BB sometime soon if possible.
Grimstar Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 Oh shit Richard! You want to play this WEEABOO SHITS?!?!?! lol, I'd be happy to help you out man. I can bring my copy to the arcade sometime if that's cool. I could help you learn the basic gist of the game. I assume you'd be interested in learning Tager since he's a grappler... I don't know a terrible amount about him, but I do know some very basic setups and combos I could show you.
Storyteller Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Maybe, I don't know much of anything about the game, other than it looks pretty in HD and you guys hit buttons and get combos lol.
Grimstar Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 lol basically... It's a love/hate relationship with me and this game. The combos last forever, matches time out way too god damn much... Some characters are stupid good. But at the same time the variety of the characters is really cool.
Top_Cat Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Use litchi and watch the mtnbb2 videos so you can win tournaments like me <3
Storyteller Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 K I think I got it: Use Litchi Carry Doromac in doubles. This game sounds easy!
Milln Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Hahaha wassup Richard! Grim may be a better choice since he's more available than I am, but i'd be happy to teach you stuff on the forums. General gist is you win with mixups and tech traps that lead to high damage combos. You can Rapid Cancel back to neutral standing, similar to Focus Cancelling(or whatever it's name is, I'm sorry, i'm a chump with Street Fighter 4 terminology) and it takes the same amount of meter. Tager is the big-ass grappler. Jin Kisaragi has EX moves that take up additional meter just like in SF and have increased properties if you want to use characters that can be seen as "sort of" similar.
Storyteller Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Right on, yeah trying to equate it to SF4 terms is a little easier for me to understand lol, I'll have to get with Grim, me and him live like an hour or more apart unfortunately, but soon. I'm liking the way that Hazama guy looks, and I'm digging Ragna, but thats probably because the few times I messed with GG, I used Sol. Just whichever one would be easier to jump on at first would probably be my first pick. Probably going to hit up training mode in a bit with a copy I borrowed and see what I can come up with.
LastStarSaviour Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 And Noel is the girl who you want to stay away from til CS2 because she's low tier. XD
Milln Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Hazama's really cool and has a TON of mobility. Flying around the stage on snakes is definitely fantastic. Most of his bread and butter comes off of 3C which is a low trip move and you bring that into an air combo. Ragna is a very straightforward character. Probably the easiest to pick up. He's got a shoryuken, but no fireball. This is a glaring difference, but each character's is their own little gimmick that adds their uniqueness to the game. Ragna has giant waves of blood and darkness and crap that drain hp. Carl has a robot that he can independently control, giving him TWO characters. Noel has a branching gatling system.. You could sort of equate it to Rekka. A lot of her combos involve links, too, rather than cancels. Hazama swings around on snake chains to give him a tie for second best mobility in the game. Lambda shoots swords giving her very easy zoning Rachel controls wind, which blows characters and her own projectiles in that directiong, giving good zoning. Bang has guard points, which auto-guard a specific attack and then he counters with another move. He also throws nails. Hakumen has a straight up counter and a variety of them into throws, pushes, spins, etc. He also has a different meter than everyone else's that enable his specials. Tsubaki is Order Sol. Unfortunately, she's pretty garbage in Continuum Shift. Continuum Shift 2(in spring), she gets a buff. Jin freezes opponents for a short time allowing to continue combos. He also has EX moves that can refreeze the opponent. Taokaka has diving claw slashes that she can cancel to stop where she is or go behind the opponent. She has the best mobility in the game, I believe. Valkenhayn turns into a werewolf and gives him second best mobility. He also steals Jon Talbain's Beast Rush. Makoto charges up her moves for a split second (There's a guage, it goes 1 to 3) to empower her moves, giving them wall splat and skid properties to gain combos. She also has a lot of fake crossups with her dopple move. Mu-12 throws out turrets that shoot one laser. She can then activate them to shoot another laser or explode them before she has to redeploy. She has the shortest combos of the cast. Tager cannot dash or air dash. He has magnetism to counterract this. His big electrical moves magnetize the opponent to where your throws and other magnetic moves pull them IN CLOSER, making throwing easier. He also has an anti-air throw. Arakune has a curse meter that, when you fill it up, he can throw out fish bees(I'm not kidding) if he's not blocking or getting hit that are complete bullshit and give him 160 hit combos and 90% of your health bar if he starts off on the right move. Litchi has, basically, two movesets. One with her staff, one without. She can also flick her staff at you to continue combos. Platinum, coming soon, shoots cat missiles and hits you with frying pans. Another big difference between this and street fighter is you can combo and get really good damage off of throws, rather than using them to set up your opponent for mixups. Milln Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Just got confirmation clearance for February 26th. MTNBB 3 has a date. I'll throw the thread up in a few days. Edited January 31, 2011 by Milln
Storyteller Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Well talking to a friend of mine, and giving it a go in training mode, I think I'm going to roll with Hakumen. Now I just need to play a real live person
Milln Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Hakumen's neat. Very very long pokes with his giant friggin' popsicle stick. His meter is really cool, too. I'll play ya if you want, I have a new character to learn.
Storyteller Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Alrighty, I'll hit you up on live in a bit. My connection us a bit sucky. Does this game still have the old Lag Compensation thing from CT in it? because I was able to run CT almost flawlessly online
LastStarSaviour Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Haku-Men, I could show ya sum neat stuff with that guy. Awesome resets, yukikaze set-ups, and some other fun stuff to know. Unfortunately, I don't have blazblue for 360.
Grimstar Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Oh shit, Rich just hit me up on XBL man if you have the game. XBL is Grimstar. As for hazama... That's my main man dude, anything you want to know about him I can show you. But he is a little more technical than other characters starting out. Same with Hakumen though, to really be able to be good with him you have to know when to activate his counters and how to combo with them. So basically he requires a lot of good match up experience. (OR BE A C MASHING FAGGOT AND WIN THAT WAY) If you liked Sol, Ragna is sort of his equivalent. He's a boring fucking LOSER in CS though. God, FAGNA Also Tad you need to git the fux online fool, I want dem wulf mirrorz Grim may be a better choice since he's more available than I am OH MILLN, THATS WHAT ALL THE LADIES SAY Edited January 31, 2011 by Grimstar
Milln Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 OH MILLN, THATS WHAT ALL THE LADIES SAY I only belong to one lady and only need one. Awwwwwww Yes, CS does have lag compensation. It synchronizes at the beginning of the match.
