Postulio Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 i was thinkin itd be cool to save dustloop links of matches to your profile. when you save the link, youd have the ability to choose which category the link falls under ( a section for each character, with the addition of a 'general category'), and the categories you choose that have links in them, will show up on your profile. for example, if i saw some good rachel match videos, i could have a choice to put them in a category of any of the fighter categories. obviously i'd choose the rachel category..... and so after the link is saved in the rachel category, my profile will show a 'rachel section' with the link(s) below it. (in addition, there could be an option to rename the link....for a more organized layout. and so you know what it is specifically about) im not sure if this would be possible by simply 'right-clicking' a link.... but this would be very helpful for me instead of going back through the forums to find a really good match/combo video. on top of simply being more convenient, i think it would attract members to look at other profiles to find some great videos. just thought of this now so it may sound unclear :P any suggestions or criticism?....
CakeWasBannedd Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 this already exists on youtube with playlists and favorites :/
Postulio Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 yea i know, but i dont wanna bunch of BB videos on my youtube account. plus, id like it better on my dustloop profile. itd be a lot more organized like that too. plus other reasons i listed....did you read what i said?... :P
shtkn Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 wow... this would be a lot of work for me to set up for not that much payoff imo. i don't think this type of system exists and would have to be created from scratch. I also think that while a system like this would be helpful, i don't think it would be THAT helpful: it'd basically just be the equivalent of jumping between subjects in wikipedia. if you want to find/write this system up, i'll consider it, but i have no interest in making said system.
Postulio Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 haha yea...i have no idea how to do this shit, so i was wonderin if it was possible :D
Circuitous Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Actually, there's probably some sort of vBulletin bookmarking plugin out there somewhere. That's basically all it is. Something that rips off the likes of del.icio.us. Quick Google search pulls up this: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=149449 If it can be integrated into profiles (or if there's a different plugin that just does profile bookmarking) it should be pretty easy to implement.
