AirMaster Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (Out of topic: should I feel bad for not even seeing a difference between Dolphin and Wii?...) Yes. Invest in a pair of glasses.
LeDom Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Well on the first pic I do see quite a difference, second one however...
Rhannmah Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 you're always drunk so your argument is invalid
WakeUpDP Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 GGs everyone. its been a long night. I encourage Rurouni to keep going. Practice, practice, practice. LeDom, I am faaaaaaaaaaaar from a makoto player but I have a feeling that you could get more damage out of your combos. Apart from that, I'd look into different mixups. tick throws, empty jump low, etc. Never got to face Brice in the end. Got dodged. I'll have to pass for today Sam, sorry ;-;
Bibiquadium Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I told him a few times but it's not always easy to suddenly adapt optimal combos.
Circuitous Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Edit: Oh and Circ, do mind that sidequesting puts you way ahead of the powercurve. Which is kinda sad since sidequests feel mostly fun and rewarding in Xenoblade but then you end up stomping for a bit. It's generally advised that when you reach Alcamoth you pretty much don't bother with most of the sidequests, since it's a part of the game where you really want to move on with the plot and that city is huge and stupid. My completionist tendencies won't allow this.
DerQ Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 LeDom, I am faaaaaaaaaaaar from a makoto player but I have a feeling that you could get more damage out of your combos. Maybe I shouldn't be saying this since I never played the guy nor do I invest enough time in the game to be a proper judge. But grinding (new) combos while we are less than 2 months away from the new game... You definitely get better at this version or in execution, but wouldn't you lose part of that improvement by the end of october. It's kind of unmotivating to some extent.
LeDom Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 At the very least, it would get me used to try new things and learn basics I may have skipped on. So it wouldn't be entirely pointless.
Bibiquadium Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 This is the lazy way of thinking. If you pull Makoto's optimal combos with ease in Extend you'll be more than ready for any combo CP has to offer.
DerQ Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (edited) I'm not saying entirely pointless and I don't know if it would do it for you, but I know that when guilty gear +R came out, I was a bit reluctant to get into it simply because I learned how to do something awesome I assumed for too long was too hard the week prior in the last version. It really depends if you feel it'd be partly in vain (which isn't totally) Then again, that's taking out of the equation the fun of learning new shit and applying it in matches before the game does come out and general execution grinding benefits. It's really just CSEX optimization in combos that is less likely to be carry over in CP as a player asset. Then again, I'm saying this without any idea on how Makoto changes/is affected, I just like discussing Edited September 13, 2013 by DerQ
ReynTime180 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I agree, the more you master and learn and understand your character now, the easier it will be to do different, more complex stuff, either in this game or the next
RurouniLoneWolf Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 GG's to everyone last night Shoutouts to Brice's Loli Ball I believe it was you I was fighting in SG yesterday if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the matches. I was glad to see my Parasoul hadn't gotten rusty. You played pretty well considering you don't usually play on stick. Quick Fun Fact: You can combo Valentine's Mortuary Drop into her flatline super. Wish my friend was still around so he could show you Valentine's Ambiguous IAD jHP cross up that drives me up the wall but sadly, he's gone back to school. Also, a quick Parasoul tip, if your opponent blocks your level 3, you can use the LK Egret to RC and close in if they're far/go for mixups when they're close while the Egrets are firing. Let's play again some time, especially when Squigly + the new rebalance patch drops on consoles. You too Dom. I need the solo Squigly practice ^,^ Fighting WakeupDP's Relius = profound sadness. My mission is clear now: To beat WakeupDP in AquaPazza! Chizuru is pretty cool but I can feel that my true Aquapazza waifu is still out there waiting for me. Got to find her!...oh, and I guess I should make beating you in BB a goal. I need to work my way up to that though, lol. Also, O.O @ Air's lambda. So many scary BB players here in Montreal. This is going to be a long journey and I haven't even started the GG struggle yet ;.; Anyway, thanks for the BB matches everyone and thanks for the tips Sam, Kirbster and WakeupDP.

I had fun playing with you too. I was actually trying to do EKG after command throw but to no avail ;_;. Look me up on PSN if you have it, we'll play online some time

I need the solo Squigly practice ^,^ I will start playing the game again seriously once Squigly comes out. Then I'll dedicate my life and soul to it once Robo-Fortune is added.
ReynTime180 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Eliza will be my third and final waifu
DerQ Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I guess I should make beating you in BB a goal. So many scary BB players here in Montreal. This is going to be a long journey I hope you see the slight contradiction with both these statements. Winning is a pretty vague distant goal. It's important to have the will to compete and keep up, don't get me wrong on that. But focusing on the winning part is the result, not the how-to get to it. Keep playing now and then, keep asking questions and before you know it everything will fall into place and you'll keep up with the other players
samthegreat Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 @Rurouni I will post a few videos later that you should definitely watch. Also we should have a training mode session together at some point. Also, anyone interested in playing games tonight? So far I think there's me and Pedro. Sent from my T8788 using Tapatalk

Then I'll dedicate my life and soul to it once Robo-Fortune is added. Sure, we'll play on PSN sometime. Though right now, the small amount of free time I have is going towards wrapping up Xillia and the eternal Rachel training. I'm sure Eliza and Robo-Fortune will be worth the wait. Keep playing now and then, keep asking questions and before you know it everything will fall into place and you'll keep up with the other players I'm aware of this. I do have sub-goals that I'm keeping to myself like getting the hang of hitconfirming, practicing my approaches, getting a better understanding of the Rachel vs. Relius matchup, etc. But reminders like these are good for keeping sight of things. Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. @Rurouni I will post a few videos later that you should definitely watch. Also we should have a training mode session together at some point. Cool. I'll be sure to watch the videos when you post them, though not right now since I'm still at work. Probably later tonight. But I should probably mention that I watch a ton of Rachel vids, both from CSE and CP but Rachel's playstyle is so unique that I'm still having trouble figuring out when I should do specific things. I'll watch the videos anyway though since I feel every time I watch a Rachel play, I get a little closer to understanding her more. Thanks for the help.
AirMaster Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 My Lambda isn't that great tbh XD. You should see Nedel's.
pochp Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Airmaster's Lambda could still be considered as the first boss. Like Brock.
kirbster Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Airmaster's Lambda could still be considered as the first boss. Like Brock. Fucking lolllll

FUCK YEAH subgoals Airmaster's Lambda could still be considered as the first boss. Like Brock. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. That's a rock solid statement like his attack patterns. Rock throws Get it? because he throws a lot
