Astaroth136 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Do you mean me? I was the one Hakumen player besides Volpe. I hadn't joined the forums yet. Hey, it was good having you there. The more people we get, the more MTNG grows. Thanks for the support. @ Tad: I'm diggin' the new sig.
DeathNapalmx Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 No problem. I'm glad I was able to be there, it was pretty fun. Hope I can come again in a month or two.
Astaroth136 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 How are the vids coming along, Doro and Chandler? (not rushing... just asking)
Jackie Chandler Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 How are the vids coming along, Doro and Chandler? (not rushing... just asking) I deleted them by accident. Just kidding. :3 I haven't had a lot of time to mess with them (I've had two tests, two quizzes, and a project due this week) but I'll make sure to swing by the library after classes so I can play around with the footage. I'll definitely have some up by Saturday, but depending on how long it takes school computers to process these things, I may or may not get a LOT of stuff up. I'll keep you guys updated.
Doromac Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I got the videos ready for editing, so this weekend, I'm gonna start cutting up some of it.
Milln Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 I deleted them by accident. Son of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-- Oh, I see. Hurry dat azz
LastStarSaviour Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Lol, can't wait to see em. As for me i've just been spending the last week getting my friends to finally play Blazblue. Hopefully I can train em up and bring m next time.
Astaroth136 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Anybody going to Cookeville Saturday for the MvC3 tourney? I know Chandler will be there. I was trying to see if I could hitch a ride with Grimstar, but he hasn't answered my pm's today.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) Chandy - As to why I didn't attend the last one, I basically ate Tager's Atomic Collider IRL. Fucked my back up and couldn't walk for two days. I was so salty about missing it. I'll only miss for legit reasons... or college girl ass. Yikes. That's what you get for putting down science. Seriously though, hope you're doing better. Sorry to hear that. :/ Anybody going to Cookeville Saturday for the MvC3 tourney? I know Chandler will be there. I was trying to see if I could hitch a ride with Grimstar, but he hasn't answered my pm's today. I dunno if I'll be able to make it, actually... It's such a far drive... :P (I could actually walk there if I had to. It's not far away at all.) I'll shoot Billy a text to see what his situation is. The more from Antioch we get down here in Cookeville, the better. :D And hey, any of you have BBCSII PSP? I got my copy in today and was wondering if any of you with PS3s/X-Link Kai wanted to try some online. P.S. New Ragna is FUN. P.P.S. I'm definitely going to learn Noel in CSII. She has arguably the best Astral comboing potential in the game, and I was messing around and found she can gatling 6C -> 2C -> 5C -> 6B -> 3C. It doesn't combo, but holy shit that's a good blockstring IMO. P.P.P.S. Billy said he probably wouldn't be able to make it. :[ Edited April 1, 2011 by Jackie Chandler
Astaroth136 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Well, I would go if I had a ride. Ah well, I think I need a little break anyway. Some assignments need to be caught up on too...
LastStarSaviour Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) I'm definitely going to learn Noel in CSII. [ This makes me very sad, but I haven't played with CS2 Noel yet but her combos are farely easy to learn from what i've seen. Of course this could just be from from maining her for a few years. I'm hoping to see Noel as S tier this time around. Naturally that means my gameplay is gonna have to be S tier as well. Really looking forward to not getting bodied all the time due to her terrible matchups. Did you import CS2? If so then i'll just do the same. If you could manage to bring that cable for my PSP then i'll be happy to play ya in CS2. Edited April 1, 2011 by LastStarSaviour
Astaroth136 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 And you guys thought I was awesome? Mad respect for this guy.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Well, I would go if I had a ride. Ah well, I think I need a little break anyway. Some assignments need to be caught up on too... Is Patrick going? Maybe you could get a ride with him. If not, I understand, especially if you've got schoolwork to do. This makes me very sad, but I haven't played with CS2 Noel yet but her combos are farely easy to learn from what i've seen. Of course this could just be from from maining her for a few years. If you could manage to bring that cable for my PSP then i'll be happy to play ya in CS2. Very sad? Why? I'm not dropping Ragna for her, and she was my sub in CS, too... She just plays a lot differently, thus my wanting to learn her. :P I'm not sure exactly of the tiers, but from what I've seen, she's at LEAST low S tier. She's so much better this time around. As for CSII, yeah, I imported it. It was worth every penny. :3 And if you'd like, I could just mail that cable to you or something. Next tourney IS a bit of a ways away, and I figure it may give you some time to practice. Then if you can bring it to the April tourney, we could play some games and everyone could watch on the TV. Sounds awesome, right? :] Just let me know what you wanna do. And you guys thought I was awesome? Mad respect for this guy. Holy shit... Did you see what he was doing with his TONGUE?... He must be popular with the ladies. :P
Astaroth136 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 You said that Patrick said (in a text) he probably wouldn't be able to go. He hasn't been on the boards recently, so I'm sure he's been busy with work and other stuff. It's no big deal.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 You said that Patrick said (in a text) he probably wouldn't be able to go. He hasn't been on the boards recently, so I'm sure he's been busy with work and other stuff. It's no big deal. I said that about Billy. :P
Astaroth136 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I can't read/comprehend names today apparently. I haven't talked to Patrick since MTNG tourney, so I don't know if he's going.
Seiki Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Lol CS2 Noel is free. The character design is so simple and brain dead. She has no unique mobility options and her drive is just combo filler, all she has to offer is combos. That's it. She is like a female version of Ragna, no wonder Jackie picked her up. Give the game a few months she will drop at least to A tier.
Jackie Chandler Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Lol CS2 Noel is free. Not as free as CS2 Bang. Ba-zing! Honestly though, I don't even know where to start pointing out what's wrong with those points. Instead, I'm just gonna link this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG5q7prOgPo
Seiki Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Not as free as CS2 Bang. Ba-zing! Honestly though, I don't even know where to start pointing out what's wrong with those points. Instead, I'm just gonna link this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG5q7prOgPo actually Bangs have been taking more top placings in japanese tournaments than noel. He keeps moving up the tier list. And I said that Noel was just a one-dimensional combo whore and you link me to a combo video as a counter-argument? wtf.
snipingsnipe Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 @jackie I got CS2 if you want to try and have some online matches, although I'm not too sure what X-Link kai is
LastStarSaviour Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 As for where Noel stands on the tier list or if she's free or not doesn't really concern me much. I'm sticking with gun girl til the very end of days, this will not change. Regardless of what she is lacking as a character (no puns intended). Plus, I don't really see Noel as a combo whore. Yes her combos are sexier to look at than Bang's but that's just because Bang was a terrible character from the beginning.
LastStarSaviour Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Very sad? Why? I'm not dropping Ragna for her, and she was my sub in CS, too... Sounds awesome, right? :] Just let me know what you wanna do. I'm just sad that someone will have the upper-hand on me in terms of gun girl practice. I'll be glad to give you a few pointers on playing with her if you ever need em. Dispite not having the game I can already tell most of her gameplay and match-ups. Hoping to start my own BBCS2 Noel Matchup thread perhaps. But this'll all be after I actually get the game next week and play Noel throughly. Also, i'm totally down for whatever you want to do Jackie. Your cord, your call. If I do get it then we could showcase CS2 on a TV. That would be a blast!!
Jackie Chandler Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 actually Bangs have been taking more top placings in japanese tournaments than noel. He keeps moving up the tier list. And I said that Noel was just a one-dimensional combo whore and you link me to a combo video as a counter-argument? wtf. For one thing, being combo-oriented is never a bad thing. The video was supposed to show that she's flexible with her combos, very fast-paced, and has quite a bit of utility at her disposal. You can't argue that because of her enormous combo potential (especially with her Drive), she's one-dimensional. That's like saying Arakune's one-dimensional because he revolves around getting curse, Tager's one-dimensional because he revolves around grabbing, or Lambda's one-dimensional because she revolves around zoning. If you're going to say Noel's brain dead for being oriented around combos, you might as well just call the entire cast of Blazblue one-dimensional for having a strong point players base their playing styles off of. In fairness, I haven't seen much of what Bang can do in CS2. I've only seen a bit of gameplay of his, and I've seen zero combo videos. I just don't understand why all the Noel hate. :P
Jackie Chandler Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 @jackie I got CS2 if you want to try and have some online matches, although I'm not too sure what X-Link kai is Me either, really. I think it's a way of getting "online" with a PSP without having a PS3, but I don't know any of the details. PS3 ad-hoc seems to be the best option. If you wanna add me, my PS3 I.D. is Jackie_Chandler. You might have to help me with some of the more technical stuff, since this'll be my first time making use of PS3/PSP ad-hoc. :P I'll try to be on a bit this weekend, but I've got a local Mahvel tourney to attend and videos to edit, so let me know when you're available and I'll try to be on then. If I do get it then we could showcase CS2 on a TV. That would be a blast!! Sorry, I wasn't/am not trying to 1-Up you in regards to practice. Even though I might have an upper hand in combos, you'll definitely know better approach options and how to play her better in general when you pick the game up. :3 Looking forward to you getting the game, especially if it's in time for the next tourney. Assuming CS2 for consoles isn't out by then (which I'm assuming it isn't, since we haven't heard any news about the patch at all), CS2 on big screen TVs would be really hype. Keep me updated on your game-acquiring situation. :D
