Milln Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 I would also like to note that I feel that Tekken is the least interactive fighting game. Opponent gets a launcher and you're not playing for five seconds or more. Guess wrong on oki and you're not playing for longer. I hate that game.
Grimstar Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Naimat WTF are you... some bizarre Canadamericasian hybrid being?!??!

Doromac Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I'm still alive I promise. I'm doing MK9, but didn't make it out to the tourney last week tourney. I'll join the tekken bandwagon if it starts up. That mtac tourney sucked btw. They had some rule about sticks. got second in mvc because I used a pad with fucked up buttons for two rounds before I switched. I have the pc version. I don't care about it too much, but I'm not too much into anime fighters atm.

You just described nearly every fighting game out there. At least it has oki, unlike weeaboo hearts. Tekken looks more fun to me than SF. I played SF for about half a year, and when it devolved into pokes for 30 seconds, I couldn't handle it. It was far too boring. EDIT And yes, I know Tekken has footsies, but it looks more fun than SF footsies. I'll probably pick it up when that crazy new Tekken comes out. Then I'll move on to SC5 when it comes out and dominate with Astaroth. Edited April 25, 2011 by Astaroth136
Milln Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) I know every game has combo systems that you can't get out of. That's what makes it a combo. However, in most of those other games you can choose to Burst(or similar) to stop getting hit or can tech out if your opponent isn't perfect. I don't really care if a game has a drawn sprites art-style and that's a silly proclamation to make against me; I like a lot of the characters in Tekken and I like their moves and played 3 through 5:DR with competitive intent so i'm not just talking to complain and nay-say. I just have problems, nowadays, accepting the gameplay. Edit: I am willing to give it another go, but doesn't KiT already have Tekken under control? Although it -is- only once a year... Astaroth136 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Edit: I am willing to give it another go, but doesn't KiT already have Tekken under control? Although it -is- only once a year... Yeah, just keep it in the back of your mind for a little while. MK9 might pick up a lot faster. I'll probably give it a try after this semester is over. I'm just too busy right now to pick up new games.
LastStarSaviour Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I'm actually just gonna give up on playing new stuff altogether. Just gonna stick with Arcana Heart 3 and BBCS2. Those, in my opinion offer the best fighting game experience for me. Would love to start GG up again but I have no one to train against so that's a wasted effort. I'm still going to look at Skullgirls, even though a few things about it are starting to draw me away from it.
Seiki Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 @Milln, I don't care for tournaments I just want people to play the game with me. =( I don't want to learn Tekken because of its complexity or because it's a game of rock-paper-scissors (although almost all fighters can be classified as that) I just want to learn a 3d fighter because that extra dimension makes the gameplay feel a lot different and when you include that characters have a huge variety of moves and no 2d fighters' "special moves" it brings about a different experience that to me is a good break from the plethora of 2d fighters I've played. I would play Virtua Fighter if it wasn't so god damn slow.
Astaroth136 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Naimat, have you ever tried Soul Calibur 4? It's a 3d fighter, but it has ringouts.
Seiki Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I used to play SC2 never touched the sequels after SC2. I don't like soul calibur because of the ring outs.
Astaroth136 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 That's why I mentioned ringouts. Some see it as cheap, while others (like myself) see that it adds another aspect to strategy.
Milln Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 You played Soul Cal 2? That's as far as you needed to go. That was the best one, anyway. Awww, Milln... that's meaaaannn.... Naimat, you should play Bloody Roar! =D
Astaroth136 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Milln, I may have recruited an out-of-stater for Saturday. No need to thank me. I'm just awesome like that.
Loffter Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I was just directed this way from another forum. I have full intentions of representing Thor this weekend.
Milln Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Pretty boss. Thor's got a sweet hammer. Thanks for having interest in us. I might even buy you a drink.
snipingsnipe Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 For the next tourny this weekend I can bring a setup for a ps3 thats dual compatible with ps2 games, along with CS and Ill probably bring GGXXAC if anyone even still plays that game (AH3 will be on it as well) My friend should be able to set me up with a tv as well

LastStarSaviour Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) I'm always up for a lil GG. Anybody seen if Tad has come out of the shadows yet? I wanna know if he making it or not and if I can still borrow that fightstick. Also, I've got my two setups already in the car packed and ready to go. I do need a third TV for my PS3 though. Gonna see if Volpe can bring his HD one again. Going to be a pain in the arse chugging around two TV's but it's for MTN so it must be done. Anyone come up with any good ideas for BBBBCS = Bye-Bye Blazblue Continuum Shift? Edited April 26, 2011 by LastStarSaviour
Top_Cat Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Yeah, randoms. Fun, lulzy lulz and needs to be done. NEEDZ A VOTE! Really looking forward to the AH3 casuals though since more ppl have the game now.
Klein Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Needs a vote NOW. So when it turns out people want randoms more I get to ignore Hakumen training.
Seiki Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Question: Does installing a game to your xbox 360 hard drive help to run the scratched disk. =/
LastStarSaviour Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Question: Does installing a game to your xbox 360 hard drive help to run the scratched disk. =/ By running the scratched disk do you mean that if the disk itself no longer works than installing it will make it work? If so, then the answer is no. Even if you install the game you still require the disk to be able to run on its own, which really makes installing the game data pointless in the first place.
Seiki Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Well I don't get an error like "your disc is damaged etc etc." my xbox just says "open tray" and every now and then it will read the game and I can play it. I'm thinking that if I install it to my hard drive it will be able to run the disc with a lot more ease since it has the information already loaded onto the hard drive.
