Seiki Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I really recommend SSFIV AE it really improves your yomi. No fighter does it better. Yeah it maybe boring at first but it's an aquired taste for people new to the series.
LastStarSaviour Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) I'll go ahead and answer each of thes questions in the order in which you asked Milln!: No Duh The release was scheduled for this summer but was pushed back further. They're saying maybe early November I'm always ready to get better at a hype fighting game. Preparing to put KOFXIII, Skullgirls, GG, and Vampire Saviour on my to-learn list. A lil of both, Suguri was indeed fun for everyone from what I can tell but, speaking for myself it feels like a game for when you've got nothing better to do . Just keep doing what you do (Being an awesome TO) and wearing that hat. @Seiki : I wish I was new to the SF scene, maybe then it would take me another 4 years to hate it all over again. Doromac Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 No Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but that won't be released on consoles or America anytime soon. The holiday season. I'll try more KoF on console. I already sorta secretly play street fighter (AE and 3S) for fun. Not gonna bother with other older games like GG and Vampire. Skullgirls is already on my to learn list. Oh, and I want to play more blitzkampf. I played some more of that game and just had fun with it for some reason. Suguri didn't interest me. More publicity.
Seiki Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 suguri isn't fun. i dont care about skullgirls. KoFXIII might be on my plate depending on if it's more popular than mk9. SFXT looks terribad but im gonna play it cause i can make a team of guy and raven. Nothing is more badass than that.
Klein Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Still hyped about KoF? Yes, a little. Truthfully, how interested, generally, are you all in learning and getting better at a new game? Depends highly on the new game, I'd be far more inclined to learn GG or a game I can play on GGPO than Tekken, but Lambda's getting me all burnt out on combo learning because it's woefully boring. Was Suguri a hit, or is my own hype blinding me? I like Suguri a lot, still need to buy it. Do you have any suggestions to improve MTNGaming? It's good now, but another game I enjoy would be nice I guess.
Grimstar Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) KoF is mah jam, boiiiii Who cares about Skull Girls I'm interested in learning and getting better at a fighting game as long as it doesn't get stale too quickly. (Blazblue for me) Suguri seemed cool, I only played it once though. you should run a tourney for shits and gigs though. Suggestions........... nope... You're doing pretty good man. Don't take my (or anyone else's) disinterest in Blazblue personally. You still run great tournies. and I plan to show up to as many as possible, regardless of if I'm entering, just to show my support, and help out if I can. Edited July 30, 2011 by Grimstar
Mr.Pickle Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Yeah I'm really starting to dislike this game now, but I still wouldn't want to miss one of Milln's tourneys....just can't promise I'll enter everytime.
Jackie Chandler Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Is there a new Tekken aside from the two crossovers scheduled for this year? Still hyped about KoF? Does Skullgirls have a date of release? Truthfully, how interested, generally, are you all in learning and getting better at a new game? Was Suguri a hit, or is my own hype blinding me? Do you have any suggestions to improve MTNGaming? Tekken Tag Tournament 2 comes out in Japan Arcades in September. No word on a console release- probably not this year though. I actually AM hyped for KoF XIII, but I'm prepared to suck at it for a long time. TBA 2011 is "official," but like Star said, November is the month that's floating around. This is a tough question. I'd like to think I'm open-minded enough to give new games a try, and when I do I have fun with them more often than not. It's just tough for me to dedicate myself to more than a few games at once. Really, it would depend on how complex the game is, how much time I'd need to spend with it to stay decent, and the kind of community playing it for me to decide if I should learn/get better at one. Suguri is a good game to have on site- I can't think of many times the T.V. it's hooked up to hasn't had two players at it. I DO enjoy it, and I make a point to play it at least a couple times each MTN. It just depends on what you mean by it being a "hit." It seems like a fun game to pick up and mess around with, and that's why I think many of the people who play it do. I can't really see much of the community getting REALLY into it, though. Just do with it what you feel is right to do. The community will follow. Ways to improve MTNG? Hm... All I can think of is getting more matches uploade- *Shot* But yeah, GGs last night Milln. Don't underestimate him guys, he's serious business now. And I talked briefly with Milln about the recordings situation, and it's stupidly lame. I've gotten a few of the matches edited and done, but for some reason every time I try to upload them they always get midway and fail. With a problem like that, I haven't been exactly motivated to continue editing, but I'll do my best to get the rest done before next tourney, then get them to Milln to upload. If you all have any suggestions, though, I'm all ears. I have no idea what the problem could be besides a shitty internet connection.
Milln Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Probably the best idea is what I suggested: I'll bring my external and you save recordings to that and I'll do all the segmentation work. Thank you all for your feedback.
Jackie Chandler Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Can do, Milln. Although I still feel bad giving you all that work with as much responsibility as you have already. In other news, did you guys hear that Spark (a Hakumen player) won EVO this year? I don't wanna hear any excuses from TN's Hakumen mains now.

I don't wanna hear any excuses from TN's Hakumen mains now. more like I don't want to hear any excuses from anybody about using any character....buuut also it's because the level of competition in blazblue in america is pretty low. Just recently I learned a dude with XBL gamertag: Stickbug is actually lord knight. I go even with him and I don't practice this game. Either this game is a lot more simple than I thought or we just aren't that good at the game.

Either this game is a lot more simple than I thought or we just aren't that good at the game. don't forget netplay messes with players, regardless of their skill level. Frames are frames. That's awesome you go even with him, though. We could use law of skill to find out who da bess is
mAc Chaos Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 more like I don't want to hear any excuses from anybody about using any character....buuut also it's because the level of competition in blazblue in america is pretty low. Screwing around on XBL is different than being able to beat him in a tournament when he's gonna be serious though. And it could've just been Stickbug if it was Makoto.

Just recently I learned a dude with XBL gamertag: Stickbug is actually lord knight. I go even with him and I don't practice this game. Either this game is a lot more simple than I thought or we just aren't that good at the game. Stickbug isn't always lord knight. Stickbug and LK are close friends, and I know I've played both of them on that XBL account. LK kind of trolls around online, so don't take it too seriously. That said, Blazblue does have strong American players, but the problem is that they're too spread out to actually play against each other. The best Tagers are in MI and TX, Carl is in CA and GA, Valk is in FL, Ragna is in TX, Makoto is wherever Omni is, and the rest... I'm not really sure. Since the netplay is crappy, they can't get experience without awful lag.
Seiki Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I played both makoto and litchi and it was 3 bar...so you can't say it was just netplay, I mean some amount of skill was in play? It wouldn't have differed that much from 3 bar to offline, and I saw LK on the stream he didnt play much different against me. We have strong players, but the community as a whole is pretty low in terms of developed skill vs the S.F. community. I saw a lot of very skilled players able to hold their own against top players on the SF evo stream but it doesn't really apply to the bb scene. It's probably because bb scene is smaller and younger though.
Seiki Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 not even thunder man. You stole like a hand clap. ...that's low.
Klein Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 For the record, I am happy about this, because I love watching Spark, and think he's a fantastic player, but I still think Hakumen as a character is average at best, bad at worst.
Grimstar Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soH8jG_gfGQ Watch this.
Jackie Chandler Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soH8jG_gfGQ Watch this. Was that... Ragna's VA? FUCKING. AWESOME. Time to get around to playing Disgaea 3 so I can buy this on launch day now.
LastStarSaviour Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 In other news, just got finished watching Tokido's Noel and all I can say is that i'm in love with this character all over again. Realising that I possess nowhere near this level of skill with Noel both frustrates and encourages me. I honestly have never felt this bothered/excited about my gameplay. The fact that i'm so open to getting better has me extremely pumped. Guess i've rambled long enough. Thank you Evo and Tokido, I've got this challenge. Time for me to step up my game yet another level. Expect great things next time we battle everyone. *Plays inspiration theme* Wait for me Noel, i'll be good yet. *Walks off into the moon-lit night* To Be Continued...
Jackie Chandler Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I wish I'd had a moment like that with Ragna, Star. :[
Seiki Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Funny thing is Star. He doesn't actually play BBCS2. That street fighter yomi/footsies really helps in any fighting game. Telling you guys, if you want to get better at fighting games play SF.
LastStarSaviour Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 T_T *Sighs* Alright then, guess i'll have to trust you on this one. If Street Fighter will really help me improve with Noel, then i'll take the leap of faith and start playing it again. Can you bring a copy of it to next MTN? Also i'll need some help remembering a few things so you mind helping me? @Jackie: I can only call this feeling I have right now the purest hype, and don't worry. I'm sure the time will come when you see a Ragna that makes you go through some crazy revelations and strive even harder for that character prowess.
Grimstar Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) Was that... Ragna's VA? FUCKING. AWESOME. Time to get around to playing Disgaea 3 so I can buy this on launch day now. Yes, that was Roy Mustang's VA. :P And definitely get it man. I'm currently destroying the 3rd game. It's story line was ass, but the gameplay is still fun. Just working on maxing out my guys now and unlocking secret characters. Debating on dropping 50 bucks on the DLC characters xP But yes, the 4th one is looking to be the best one since the first. The main character seems badass as hell. Edited August 1, 2011 by Grimstar
