I think I'm the troll in "trollroth".

Excellent, then we can just be Team Ass-troll-roth. Assuming Astaroth and Milln are cool with this, haha.

Can I have a 1-man team?

But you play Noel. In Extend, that should be handicap enough. :P

Random question, what are you guys' feelings on Skullgirls and Soul Calibur 5?

I've been sorta following Skullgirls a bit, but just recently took a hard look at it, and I'm pretty excited, but what will really decide if I get into it is if others do. I don't really wanna learn a game that nobody plays. Same question goes to Soul Calibur 5. Typically I don't like 3D fighters, but I'd gladly give it a chance if that's where the competition lies.

So yea, your thoughts?

Soul Calibur 5, both me and Astaroth are big on the series I don't think anyone else has ever -really- played it. To describe the competition level... If Street Fighter is the young adult that gets the scholarships, and if BlazBlue is the preteen named after the Hip Uncle and gets all the sugary cereal, and if KOF is the foreign exchange student making good grades, and Tekken is the angsty 15-year old..... Then Soul Calibur is the pet goldfish that keeps jumping out of its bowl. I think that's actually accurate.

Skullgirls... Ehh... My hype has kind of died down. I don't think it's going to be too popular with middle Tennessee, but maybe I'll be wrong.

I personally never -really- played SC before, but if people pick it up, I'll be all for it.

Skullgirls, yea, I've got this feeling that it won't be big here, which is a darn shame. I'll probably still end up buying it just to support them, because the game is just so cool looking. It's got a helluva lot of style to it. It intrigues me.

edit: your edit makes me laugh. Best description of competition levels ever.

I promised myself I was going to learn a 3d fighter but I'm not a big fan of soul calibur. Definitely going to be picking up Tekken Tag 2 though.

My handle comes from Soul Calibur. I have to play it. As for TN, I don't know who all will get into it. A few people on SRK have been asking me questions about it though. Plus, new games bring in new people. 8WayRun may lead people to us.

It's late, so I don't get this analogy at all. In my head, SF is the hot chick everyone likes, but once you get to know her, she's actually really boring. Marvel is the guy you want at parties because he's so crazy, but is too wild and spontaneous to befriend. Blazblue is the shy, underrated Asian; he/she only speaks when spoken to. KoF is the cool, new Hispanic guy that is trying to unite the jocks and nerds. Tekken's the rough-looking black dude that people stereotype, when he's in fact very chill and easy to get along with. Smash is the annoying younger brother/sister of any of the aforementioned people who try to prove themselves too hard. MK is the social outcast neckbeard. And finally, Soul Calibur is the "perfect student." He/she has both friends and enemies, but the rest have no opinion because they've never gotten to know him/her.

SC5 can prepare you though. 3D is magnitudes different from 2D. By getting used to sidestepping, pokes, and positioning in SC5, you'll have a lot less to learn in TTT2.

SC isn't fun to me so it's not worth buying. It was fun when I played fighters casually but, like mvc, I don't enjoy it as a tournament kind of game. I'd rather wait and learn 3D fighter mechanics in TT2.

In the mean time I'd rather get good at KOF. That game is hard.

I was saying as if fighting games were part of a family, which one would be which kid and making the analogy if their competitive scene rather than their gameplay.

I own Battle Fantasia and played it very briefly, but I never really understood it. It reminded me more of Street Fighter than an Ark game. :/

All i will ever see battle fantasia and arcana as are two games arcsys spent money on to make instead of guilty gear.

@Astaroth&Sarah: As many as she has. I always want setups fuggin' everywhere.

@Battle Fantasia: I played it for a little bit. I'm always up for playing it some more.
