Milln Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 EDIT: Oh yeah, just for future reference, my name is written Team DAI | Urichinan. Gonna write it "WozWozWozWoz" (Soisoisoisoisoi) from now on. We <3 you! Welcome any time to visit! You can be.... THE REPLACEMENT LUMIN Barbecue all day with Uri.
Urichinan Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 YOU DID NOT JUST- Man, that video is da bes. Best of luck to ya man, hope to see you out here more. TAF related to GG? I may be way off, but are you sure you don't mean Tad? He's the Ky main who went to grand finals vs me. And I'd assume the other guy you mean is Phil, the Millia main. Also, Boom Cube, you son of a gun. I knew I forgot someone in my shout outs post in the MWC thread. It was cool hanging with you too man, and for some reason I always assumed you never touched 'anime' fighters, good to know I was mistaken from the start. Ah, Tad, I thought he was TAF. :P Mah bad. And yes, Phil was the other dude I was referring to. I'll eventually get everyone's names right... @Milln: I'll bring the BBQ sauce.
Klein Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 WAIT, LUMIN REPLACEMENT? NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo! </3
Jackie Chandler Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Oh yeah, it was a real pleasure meeting you Woz. You've got easily the strongest Litchi I've ever faced (move over, Midnight :P). Hope to see you around more often. You know, you could very easily take the Megabus to Nashville if your parents would be willing to drive you to Knoxville, and the gas prices are INCREDIBLY nice (usually $1 to $3 one-way). The only problem is that you might have to plan around the bus's schedule, and taking the bus at odd times can sometimes be costly. Just keep an eye out for reasonable times/prices, and maybe consider asking someone here if you can spend the night at their place if necessary. Seriously, a single dollar in gas for a 3 hour trip is insane. I'm pretty sure that controller you grabbed belongs to the arcade, but it's totally my fault. I yoinked one from the shelves over by the register so I could use it for Guilty Gear before I realized we had two good ones, having every intention to put it back once I was done. Naturally, that didn't turn out as expected. :P Just get it back to them whenever you get the chance. The arcade had plenty when I checked, so just get it back to them whenever you get the chance and I'm sure there won't be any harm done. Sorry you had to get stuck with that controller though. I noticed how much that analog kinda sucks. Hopefully Star can get YOUR controller back to you soon. And one more thing- you're cool Woz, and we totally <3 you. But you can't replace Lumin. Sorry. :3 Also, holy shit I edited and uploaded all of Soul Calibur in one day. Still need names and whatnot though. Edited June 27, 2012 by Jackie Chandler
LastStarSaviour Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Wait...so do I have Woz's controller or the Arcade's? 0_0" But yeah, it really was awesome meeting you in real life Woz. We've played way too many matches online but I literally flipped my **** after I found out you were somewhere in Tennessee, life can be awesome sometimes.
Jackie Chandler Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 You have Woz's controller, because Woz took the arcade's controller by accident. Sorry, I edited my previous post to be clearer.
Jackie Chandler Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Blazblue in its entirety should be edited and uploaded by tonight. It's clear to me now that the source of my procrastination was my wisdom teeth.
Astaroth136 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Ah, so Woz was that Litchi player? Good stuff, and thanks for coming up. And who was that random white dude that entered Samurai Kirby and Skrillex Girls? It was either Khaos Muffins or TJO, I think (just glanced at brackets). I'm only wondering because he played AE randomly with my two friends Saturday while I played Marvel casuals, and they said they got destroyed. I didn't know if he was a TN player or not.
Urichinan Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Thanks for clearing that up Jackie, I'll bring it back the next time I go. Which might not actually be too long from now. My parents definitely wouldn't let me do that, much less crash with someone they don't know. I'd be down for it, but they'd flip out. =( I do appreciate your input though, I'll definitely bring it up to them. It was nice meeting you as well Astaroth, and keep up your game, you're a true inspiration.
Milln Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 And here I thought the whole controller thing was Psyken's fault. He asked for a ps2 controller because his was brand new and his R2 button had too much resistance and figured someone just picked up the other one. Lawls. I know I know, we can't replace our Lumibro. Jokes. Oh hey. I heard in January there werent any chips in Knoxville. Is this still accurate, or is my information outdated?

And dude, I know exactly how you feel. I'm 20 years old and my parents still treat me like I'm well under. There's a story involving last year's MWC, the accidental negligence of my phone, and my parents driving from Cookeville to Murfreesboro at 3 in the morning to Milln's apartment. But that's a story I can tell in person, or you can read back in the thread for if you're curious. tl;dr- Your parents can't be more unreasonable than mine. :P Oh hey. I heard in January there werent any chips in Knoxville. Is this still accurate, or is my information outdated? If Woz lives in the Knoxville vicinity, he probably doesn't even know what chips are. I can imagine him picking up a bag of chips for the first time, staring at it confusedly for an extended period of time, then going "I don't know how I feel about this."
Grimstar Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 sup gaiz. Ill be back at the weeaboo days when P4 comes out. Or Gear. whichever is first.
Jackie Chandler Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 sup gaiz. Ill be back at the weeaboo days when P4 comes out. Or Gear. whichever is first. Probably P4A, considering Guilty Gear is still in loketest state. If you like Relius, there's a good chance you'll love P4A. Considering... You know... Pretty much every character works like Relius.

Papstr Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 His insta-kill move is called "THE MAN SERIES: BROFIST". Good enough reason to play him.
Milln Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Yo, Woz, imma need that twitter info. I see that hashtag. Edit: How do you all feel about chipspools? Every pools I've been in and run have been round robin. For Final Round and Evo pools are brackets. Little mini tournaments. Pools are used to determine who belongs in the real bracket from a skill perception. Players go to tournaments to play matches, not possibly go 0-2 or get randomed out. Additionally everyone knows double elimination brackets aren't particularly accurate, either. Round Robin facilitates both of these desires by using win/loss ratios to find the consistent best player(s) and seed them and people that were going to get knocked out got the chance to play lots of matches with something at stake, including the chance to play against a top player, if there is one in the pool without instantly being killed and having your trip ended by him/her. Round Robin should be used in pools. It's more fair, more fun, just better. It doesn't even take longer. Get a responsible person to lead the pool and move things along and they get done quick, honestly. I mean... Unless people are itching to spend hundreds of dollars to go zero and two, then never find a casual setup. Edited June 27, 2012 by Milln
Papstr Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Pools? Every pool I've been in was wet. Okay but yea, I think pools should be round robin. I mean that's how it's supposed to go. Like you said, nobody wants to spend tons of money going to a major only to go 0-2 or whatever and then be done for the whole weekend. Specially since set ups for casuals don't exist. Heck Final Round was hype as hell, but it's too bad I went 0-2 and (or was it 1-2? I forget) and bam, that was it for the entire weekend. But hell it was still fun. I agree. round robin should be in pools if only for the ability to play more. Jackie: Stop making me do commentary man. You always give me that mic bein' all like, hey Papstr, commentate. Man I don't know shit about these games or commentating on them. All I do is sound dumb. And my accent is apparently really southern. It's embarrassing hearing myself talk. Maybe I'm just insecure. ANYWAY, STUFF.
Astaroth136 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I thought I hated hearing myself, but when I commentated for SCV, I had this... different voice. It was like a sexy "I know my stuff" voice. Does the headset play the voice back? It might've been a combination of that and the fact that I couldn't hear myself speak normally. On round-robin pools: They could take FOREVER to complete.
Klein Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Hey Milln, how would you feel about picking up and dropping Snipe off in Franklin for next MTNG tournament? He could probably pay for gas money no problem, as long as you're cool with that.
