Do you really want to deal with having to synchronize connection with 3 or more people with a fast game like Guilty Gear? Even Persona still has detectable latency on both systems. FRC's would never, ever, ever come out if you do it on sight.

Guys.

Guys. GUYS.

Guilty Gear comes out tomorrow, and the thing that gets everyone talking for the last 3 pages is fuckin' dustloop avatars?

I mean come on, seriously.

We already got a gathering going on at Kaos Theory tomorrow night. It'll be streamed, too. http://www.twitch.tv/kaostheoryinc

I see you changed your avatar, as well.

Downloaded ggxacp this morning and played a couple matches online. Seems pretty damn smooth. I'll be at Kaos Theory around 5-6pm today.

GAH! I'm excited that GG is finally coming out! I need to start coming to Kaos Theory. I really wanna level up my GG/KoFXIII game.

We'll see you tonight, then, yeah?

I've only heard bad things about this GG reboot. Do I wanna blow 1200 points on it?

1. It's the fighting game community. People will always find things to complain about.

2. It's Guilty Gear. The game itself is amazing, so when negative things about it pop up, they stick out like a sore thumb.

3. Don't lie, you know you wanna play Potemkin.

4. Even if you think you don't wanna play Potemkin, you actually do wanna play Potemkin.

5. It's fifteen bucks. For the size of the roster and depth of the game, that's really reasonable compared to most current-gen fighting games.

I was kind of getting in it for the netcode (since I can't regularly attend offline sessions) but heard it was mediocre. No lobbies is a letdown too.

I'll think it over while I'm out today.

Netcode doesn't seem bad to me. I was able to do some FRC's (albeit inconsistently), but I think that's more because I'm still unfamiliar with the timing themselves than the online messing with my inputs.

Speaking of inputs, I'm really struggling with how strict Guilty Gear's inputs are. There's a small chance it might be my controller, but about 1/3 of the time I go for a special input (QCF/B, DP, etc.), it'll come out as a normal instead. Maybe I'm not doing exaggerated enough inputs (going from exactly 2 to exactly 6 for a QCF), or maybe I'm not doing them fast enough. Either way, I'm really gonna have to figure out what it is if I'm going to seriously play this game. My execution at the moment is abysmal.

Im gonna slap you jackie. GG is the shit. I actually spent time in training mode today.

Yeah, I spent some time in Training Mode myself. Sidewinder loops are SOOOOOOOO much easier for me with the 360 controller. I agree, it's definitely the shit. We're still gonna meet after my last class today, right?

Also, I'm really starting to believe the problem might be my controller. If I input a directional motion too fast, even though I can undoubtedly feel my analog stick running over the "corner" of the circle, it'll sometimes come out as, say, a 26 instead of a 236. This bothers me. Very much.

I haven't downloaded GG yet but based on arcsys history, BB had shitty netcode when it was released and persona for the 360 did but they both got patched and have great netcoding. I think it's the same with GG. They need to figure out how the networking for the game behaves in the real world and then make modifications to it.

Do you guys know if they modified GG to work on HD tv's without lag?

Ah, I hadn't even thought about that. That's true. And in a game like Guilty Gear, where timing is super strict and important, we need the best kind of netcode we can get.

And I don't think the problem with Guilty Gear lagging on HDTVs was ever a problem native to the game- I think it was a problem all last-gen consoles had, because they weren't designed to be played on HDTVs. It was really bad if you played with composite cables (RWY), and it was better if you played with component cables (RBGRW), but I *think* there was always just a little latency. Anyway, I don't see why Guilty Gear would have that problem now, considering this version of the game was designed to run on current-gen consoles.

Net code on launch for any game will of course be sketchy.

However, now I hear it's "okay" but you can't do any one frame jumps or Flash guards or anything for its intended purpose reliably. Potemkin is going to be stupid broken tier online.

Defense will be the worst thing to deal with.

........ Grabs will be even more untechable than they already are.

But if you can play Marvel online, Astaroth, I guess you can play Guilty Gear.

Online for fighters sucks regardless, always. (but don't listen to me, you all know I'm Biased)

I haven't heard anything about lag or not in HDtV's.

In GG you don't break grabs, you Jump them.

Also, Jackie, get a stick. Seriously. Learn GG on STICK for the love of FUCK-sake

@Chandler: I had the same problems when i tried playing 3rd strike on my computer with a 360 controller. . I think it has to do with old school fighters being in the arcade and the arcade stick only registering up,down, left, right, and the diagonals.Even though I didn't like the dpad i found it to be more consistent because it resembled the arcade stick in terms of all the inputs it registers. The 360 joystick seems to have more angles it covers.

So on the arcade stick you would do 236 and on the xbox joystick it could be registered more like 2, 2.5,3,3.5,6 and where 3 is actually located on your joystick is very specific and thus the gap in between 2 to 3 and 3 to 6 is greater so you have to do it faster and more precise. I'd say the best way to test your controller is to use a character with a 3 directional move like johnny's 3HS and start at 2 and test how close to 2 and how far from 6 you can be for it to register as a 3.

Quick guys what do I need to know about Order sol?

Hi.

Someone save this man from me before I give him advice.

When just starting out learn how to 6H. Then spam 6H. When you get a dizzy, walk away because you won.

But seriously, Gun Blaze level 1 on their wakeup. Just starting out, do it all the time, then start working mixups into it with what you do after Gun Blaze and whether or not you Gun Blaze at all.

Learn the corner throw combo.

Learn how to 6H and 2H. 2H is overhead and Later you can 2H > Roman cancel for a combo.

Learn when to raw charge and when to charge after a special. Later you can learn charge store combos.

Blow all your meter on Fafnir Force Break.

He has a stick, he just won't use it, no matter how many times I tell him you could fix x problem with a stick.
