Astaroth136 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 My new job is amazing. Wanna mess around with the newest Alienware computers without paying for them? There's a room for that. Bored before or after work? Go to the "escape pod" room that has consoles and pc's to play on. Hungry? Go to the gigantic cafeteria and buy some high quality food. Need to work out? Go to the full-fledged gym downstairs. The actual work seems pretty easy too. 4 weeks of training is bleh, though.
Tophatmoffet Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) Kain is the master of the Pig, you guys. He got top 30 just recently in Tokyo Jungle for pigs. All hail the Oink This game is getting tough to play. Just got 2500th total ranking (give or take a few hackers) with a porcupine. If I keep setting records every session, its going to take 2 hours every time." Astaroth136 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) ...Dude, are you working at Dell? Yes. Okay, funny story here, Pat. My dad swore he saw you a few weeks ago in the Dell parking lot, but I told him he was probably mistaken. After my first day yesterday, he kept asking me, "Did you see Patrick?" I called him crazy... and now this post happened. Edited November 28, 2012 by Astaroth136
Seiki Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 For those of you who play Gear: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AjtI6IrBGlOadGlTWWdJMWE1T2ZmT2trSUhzSkZ5SlE&output=html Yeah yeah it's only been out for two months or so yadayada...it's interesting to see the initial impression the changes have made to the matchups. Chipp went from bottom tier to top 3 based on the chart. Eddie is no longer a god. Zappa is the new Eddie. Dizzy and Johnny jumped up the list as well. Some characters who were already strong got even better like Millia, Venom, and Faust.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I'll be excited about Guilty Gear again when they can either fix the problems with the 360 controller, or Aksys can respond to one of the three e-mails I've sent to customer service about it. Seriously, I'm astounded with the lack of professionalism. So how about Noel's command grab doing 1.5K unscaled and untechable mid-combo in CP?
Tophatmoffet Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 So how about Noel's command grab doing 1.5K unscaled and untechable mid-combo in CP? seriously fucking silly.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 seriously fucking silly. Yeah, it really seems that way. It actually does more guaranteed damage than most Distortions in Extend. If the fact the command grab only works on standing opponents meant she wouldn't be able to earn it against a crouched opponent, I'd be more inclined to think it isn't all that silly. But since you can force crouched opponents to stand with the first hit of Drive 236D, that probably means the only way Noel won't be able to combo into that with 50 Heat is if her opponent is floated. But maybe some of her Drive combos don't work on standing opponents, so iunno. Game just came out, etc.

But maybe some of her Drive combos don't work on standing opponents, so iunno. Game just came out, etc. You see, the thing about this is that her command grab combos still only do as much as every other combo in the game that uses 50 Heat, but hers STILL requires the opponent to stay grounded through the whole combo. Hazama, Hakumen, Litchi, Tao, Arakune, Platinum, Bullet, Azrael, Relius and Carl all do slightly less, the same or even more damage than Noel does using the same amount of Heat and a starter of similar properties to those that Noel uses her Muzzle Filter combos from. Of course time will tell whether or not she can get up to 5-6k with only 50 meter, but at the moment, it's no better than anyone else, and is a lot more specific.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) Where's our thread at? Lol yeah. When I refreshed our thread using this url after the outage, it took me to a completely different thread altogether. I think it may be because some messages were lost after the outage. Speaking of which... What 360 controller issue? When playing GG with a first party 360 controller's analog stick, diagonals will spontaneously (and often) decide not to register. That means if you try to do a special with one, the game sometimes won't recognize that you passed a diagonal, and you'll only get something like a 2_6 or a 2_4. Of course, when that happens, you'll just get a normal instead of a special. It's extremely frustrating and it completely negates my enjoyment of the game. If anyone thinks I'm exaggerating, go into Training Mode with a first party 360 controller, turn the input display on, and spin the control stick around in full circles. After a second or two, stop and take a look at your inputs. More often than not, you'll see times where you went from something like down to forward without hitting down-forward, or up to back without hitting up-back. Jackie Chandler Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) Looks like a couple posts got rolled back, as well. Aw, you're right. My response to Uri got deleted, too. :/ Yeah and the PSN version is.... is.... :I at least it's finally coming out... soon. Also a character I play is actually top tier for once (Faust)? I excite. Yeah, I'll be looking forward to seeing if the PS3 version handles the 360 controller any better than the 360 does (lol). If it doesn't, I'll vote on buying it or not with my money. And Faust is super legit, even in +R. Prepare for excite in that, too! Wait 'til you learn drill cancels. They are so fun, it's ridiculous. Drill cancels? Whassat Edited November 30, 2012 by Jackie Chandler
Klein Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Drill cancels? Whassat You can do Faust's drill (j.2K) during any sort of movement, like the ascension of a jump, or an airdash, and cancel the startup with Fauntless defense by hitting and holding j.1K, then pressing P to Fauntless Defense. It allows a fast, safe way out of his long air dash, gives him instant overhead options, and moves him back just a little bit for fun positioning.
Astaroth136 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 First work week ever and I'm drained. Getting up at 5am Monday through Friday is rough. I'm excited for some CP though. Wait... now I'm on watchlists.

Volpe-de-Glacio Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 First work week ever and I'm drained. Getting up at 5am Monday through Friday is rough. ASTAROTH GETTIN DAT PAYPUH Who is S tier? ^_^ Apparently Faust, Kliff, and Zappa. You slimy bastard, you. :@ So, like, I still don't really understand what issues people have with UNI. I've heard that it's got a simple learning curve, its gameplay is linear, and its combos are too long/damaging. But these same issues exist in crowd favorites as well. Long combos? Guilty Gear, UMVC3, SG. I mean, c'mon, GG has like 70-80% combos and P4A has one shots. Linear gameplay? Street Fighter, KoF, P4A Simple learning curve? Street Fighter, KoF, P4A JUST JOIN US WEEABOOS AND PLAY DA GAME BEFORE YOU HATE IT, MAN.

ArcSys is the Japanese company who makes GG/BB/P4A, Aksys is merely an American localization company. Aksys works with ArcSys a lot, but they're entirely independent of each other. Aksys isn't involved with GG's XBL/PSN port at all, which is probably why they're ignoring you.

I knew Aksys and Arc System were two different entities, but what I didn't know was that Aksys wasn't involved in the localization. I mean, even Accent Core/AC+ for the PS2 involved Aksys when bringing the game stateside. I don't think my assumption was too much of a stretch- and even if it was, how much trouble would it have been for them to reply with a "yeah, we don't mess with that shit"? :/ The only reason I contacted Aksys customer support instead of Arc System Works in the first place was because I couldn't find any information on if the latter has English-speaking customer support. I'm sure Japan is where all the programmers are anyway, so I was hoping if I brought the issue up to Aksys, that they'd be able to forward the message to where it needed to go on that end, and in the language it needs to be. I know quite a bit would be lost in translation if I used a web-based translator, and I'm worried Arc would just ignore my e-mail if I sent one completely in English. But I guess I'll just have to try both, haha. Thanks for bringing that up.

I can't really see it in SF either. And SF and KoF are only simple at a basic level. I'm watching Seth, and his gameplay could be flowcharted easier than... Anyone really. I'll give it a shot just to mash around with pretty sprites and fast gatlings, but I do not have any expectations to pick it up as a main or casual game to learn.
