Volpe-de-Glacio Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I never said I could go without getting hit. I'm just saying that if your opponent lands multiple criticals on you, you're clearly doing something wrong.
Astaroth136 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I wouldn't compare throw teching in SC to tripping in brawl. Tripping is purely random. Throwing isn't. And honestly in a game where everyone has a weapon of some kind. It's kind of hard to stick your arm out without it getting chopped off...so throws need to be rewarding in some way. I heard Ezio gets lots of clean hits from one of his moves. Don't remember. Btw, is Ezio banned from tourney play? No, he's not banned.
Milln Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Maxi has lots of stances. And when he's in a stance, he changes to different stances over time while passing the nunchuks. He definitely takes getting used to. @Clean Hits: it isn't just unfair if I'm the one getting hit, if I clean hit someone I still consider it bs. I mean, imma deal with it. I'm just expressing my dissatisfaction with this feature. @Star: you're fine, man. I have to work tomorrow anyway. Edited February 5, 2012 by Milln
Astaroth136 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Maxi is hard to learn. =/ Heh, he's probably one of the toughest characters to learn.
Papstr Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 So um. The guy who just delivered my pizza? He was at KOF last weekend. Said he was the one who got 4th. He told me his name but I didn't hear it clearly. But still, wow. Small world.

He told me his name but I didn't hear it clearly. But still, wow. Small world. 4th? That's Patrick, aka Boom Cube. Skinny white guy with a soulful deep voice. 5th would be you and Graham. Graham has a build like mine, but short hair. I think Graham lives in Cookeville, Patrick lives in Murfreesboro/Nashville. Competitive Gamers are everywhere, doing the things they do, making the world a better place and keeping Papstr fed. @Astaroth: you seem suspiciously short on your conversations. You okay, friend?
Astaroth136 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 @Astaroth: you seem suspiciously short on your conversations. You okay, friend? I'm fine. Dustloop posts have been on the bottom of my priority list, nothing against you guys. I've been playing the hell out of SC5, researching/testing stuff with Astaroth, posting those Marvel videos on facebook and SRK for Hulk and/or general advice, looking at Spanish homework and never actually doing it, and eating three times a day between all of that stuff. Also, Papstr commentary made me laugh.

Nah nah wasn't boomcube.. He wasn't a skinny guy. Fairly big, and..black hair I think? Anyway. Maybe it was Graham. The individual said he'd beaten you so. Also Astaroth, lolwut. That was pretty much KO talking. My commentary is balls awful. Unless its like. poking fun at Jackie or Milln. lulz.
Astaroth136 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 You were John Madden at one point. KO's commentary was very good, considering he doesn't even play Marvel.
Papstr Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 You were John Madden at one point. KO's commentary was very good, considering he doesn't even play Marvel. I did a john madden thing that one time. I didn't commentate any marvel matches though. I commentated some KOF. I mighta done a John Madden thing there. Don't quite remember. Man, Ima come dressed in a suit next time. Esports dawg.
Jackie Chandler Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Yeah, that was Graham, Papstr. He works at Dominos. He's a cool guy.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Man, I want me some SCV now. Hilde looks boss. Does anyone have some gameplay footage with skilled fighters? I'm not really finding any decent fights on youtube, and even if I could I'm not sure I'd recognize it. Edited February 5, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
Jackie Chandler Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I may end up maining Natsu. I played SCV at a friend's house today, and I had a lot of fun despite the silly things. It's going to be a transition, though. I'm really unfamiliar with 3D fighters, and SCV doesn't seem to be a game emphasized on picking up combos, either. Do any of you know a good learning source?

Milln Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 I'll reiterate something Astaroth has said: learn the Spacing on all your moves and where they hit and how they track. 8wayrun.com Do not waste you time trying to be a retard and figuring out combos. Know what anyone will do? Air control that S. gtfo, get in training mode and figure out what your crap is. Then go and learn everyone else so you know what's a low and what's not. Then MATCH EXPERIENCE.
Grimstar Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) FUCKING MILLN LOVES THE PYRRHA STUN STABS YAAHHH YAAHHH YAAHHH MY HEAD HURTS YAAHH YAAHYHAHAHHYAAHAYAYAHSHSHAYSHFGSEBIRJKN$%^RTU%^J It's ok though... Because according to Siegfried YOU COULD NEVER UNDERSTAND!!! Edited February 5, 2012 by Grimstar
Astaroth136 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I'm really liking mitsurugi and xiba If you use Mitsu, I'll forever brand you as a brain-dead scrub. Not even joking.
Milln Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) I'm looking like gritting my teeth and playing this incarnation of Raph I truly loathe. "Gimme Dat crotch" sig worthy. "Holy crap Elysium has giant boobs. I know they nerfed these chests but did they give it all to her??" sig worthy, especially since it came out of nowhere. Or playing PLEASE STOP/Nightmare/Siegfried. Edit: online really is good. I had 4 bar connection with Astaroth, and 5 bars with Grimstar and could react/setup whatever I wanted. Press a button and something happens, you have almost all your frames! And you guys know I love my frames. Edited February 5, 2012 by Milln
Astaroth136 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 "Gimme dat crotch" was definitely the highlight of last night. That had me rolling.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Speaking of frames, we should get some fights in with that new KoF net code.
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) I'm a complete stranger to this scene, I only saw recent posts. Just noting that the patch did NOT make changes to KoF's net code. It only made improvements to the matchmaking process. The net code itself is still not that great. If you use Mitsu, I'll forever brand you as a brain-dead scrub. Not even joking. I suggest a more humiliating title. The title of "brain-dead scrub" will backfire if he starts winning with Mitsu. Losing to brain-dead scrubs is never a good thing. Losing to "asshole" or "faggot" though? More acceptable. Edited February 5, 2012 by Bolverk-GTM
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well either way, the connections are a lot better. That's all that really matters.
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well either way, the connections are a lot better. That's all that really matters. I could manage good connections on KoF prior to the patch, so I can't say there's a noticeable difference. Glad the patch seems to be helping somebody at least.
