@Milln: Last two options bro.

@papstr: It's a mystical place where the darkness can't follow Papstr. See, when you go outside, there's this big round thing in the sky. We call that a sun. Everyday the sun rises to give us this thing called "sunlight" something very good for you that you can only get by coming out of your house. In a sense, it is an endgame dungeon, but with a huge power up just for being in the dungeon so to speak.

Hickory Hollow Mall is officially closing down July 1st. MWC is still happening there, but after that, no more mall/arcade for tournaments. Time to venue shop.

That's awful. Any word on what's going to happen to the arcade? Are they gonna try to move, or what?

So Hickory Hollow is finally kicking the bucket eh? Took em long enough, even though I will give the mall respect for fighting as long as it did. Sucks to hear, but such is life.

@Jackie: The arcade's planning to say bye-bye far away from here from what I was last told. It kind of sucks because that's the last thing America needs, the loss of another arcade. I wonder if we can file to have arcades become endangered species.

Sucks to say, but MWC might be the last time I see any of you blokes, (Insert derp face here).

Indeed. I was playing Tales when the news hit.

The arcade isn't going as far as Star makes it out to be. Jason's opening up a spot in Huntsville. Definitely further away than Antioch, of course, but it's not THAT far, honestly. As far as venue shopping, it's like I said at Steak N Shake when we kind of preempted this conversation. We won't have an issue with a place to play. And that's all Ive ever wanted to give you guys.

All this means is that it requires more effort on all of us to actually do meetups and gatherings at houses and homes instea of wait for Milln to run a tournament. This should never mean that any of us are going to stop playing. I'm certainly not going to simply drop my KOF career because my local arcade moved away. F that. Just means I get to star traveling earlier than I initially planned!

MWC is still happening.

I still urge you all to come to AnimeSoutheast.

We'll talk about what's to come.

Yeah guys, the very slim chance we had of having get-togethers just...got...slimmer?

As for dropping game careers, I might as well go ahead and do that now and save myself some disapointments later on:

Blazblue - No one plays that **** in the south (dropped)

AH3 - Never stood a chance (Been got dropped)

P4U - Have high hopes, but I doubt it (dropped)

Selling my games tomorrow morning when I wake up, Lawls.

No, it just means that we'll have to find a new venue. Think of it as a balance patch. Things'll change a bit, but it'll still be the same game for the most part.

You announced less than a week ago that you were dropping Noel for Mu.

AH3 - Never stood a chance (Been got dropped)

Okay, that's actually true. And I just bought this game a few weeks ago. Colon-forward slash.

P4U - Have high hopes, but I doubt it (dropped)

Gawd, you haven't even played the game yet. Don't lie, you're gonna give the game a fair chance, and there'll be plenty in this community that will too.

Selling my games tomorrow morning when I wake up, Lawls.

And then wasting money to buy them back a la KoF. Just do yourself a favor and play the games you like. Just because you can't always have a thriving local competitive medium to play those games in, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy them.

Aw shit, I thought you were joking. For some reason my hype is really dwindling for fighters in general, and P4U/UNiB are pretty much my last hopes. Guilty seems awesome and all, but I don't see it happening. I'm still going to try and learn it; it won't hurt to improve myself either way. I'm also starting to focus more on other ambitions, and my free time is beginning to disappear. It comes down to either writing/producing or training sometimes, and the choice is becoming depressingly easier to make.

Also wtf Dead Space. Isaac is getting younger with each game.

Lol Star said "you train?" to Volpe but deleted it. Lol I know Star is going to change his mind in like 5 hours.

I miss the original ending to his previous post, too. It was like...

So let's see, either I pick up Marvel or Street Fighter to keep my spirit as a wolf alive or...F that, imma just pick up LoL and lose my pants. Thinking about it now, Maybe Middy forsaw all this from the beginning!

Well, aren't we having fun digging up the scraps of posts that I discarded.

Pfffft, as if you can discard things once you post them on the internet.

Oh I can, Jackie. You see, I have a particular set of skills...

Also, it's confirmed. Dead Space 3 is going to be godly. Anyone who doesn't know what this game is is a very sad person.

I dunno about you star, but I don't need a thriving community to enjoy a game, just one good friend.

Also, Milln, can I crash at your place for MWC again?

Posted

I don't recall ever saying I needed one to enjoy a game. I do however require one to stay competitive in a fighting game, there's a difference. I can enjoy a game all I want, but the fact of the matter is, the only thing that keeps me from just pressing my buttons all day and not giving a damn is the fact that I have other people around me who are willing to do the same.

Yeah, just because the mall will close doesn't mean we have to stop everything. It just means we should try to find a venue. I mean, I was really bummed last night when I read it. Then I got to thinking how little I actually went to the arcade, and it was only for tournaments. It was a great venue for us though.

There's no reason to just stop playing fighters altogether just because of this setback.

Exactly. I have two months to find a new venue for August's MTNG. MWC is STILL GOING ON and may I remind that MWC will STILL BE HYPE AS F and an Evo qualifier with top players showing up. I have a convention to run tournaments at in July, and then were back on track for August, September, October. November/December are still break months.

@Klein: Yes, you can. Anyone else looking for housing for MWC is also welcome.

If attendance is going to be small for MTN as it usually is, I might be able to clear out my garage and use it for a venue if worse comes to worse. I wouldn't charge venue fee either.

I can get us the venue in Columbia, which is a venue with limitless potential. It's certainly the nicest facility we'll come across, but if the current Nashville scene isn't willing to make that drive, then it would be pointless. Location is 2494 Park Plus Drive, Columbia.

That's an hour and 20 minutes from me, which isn't too bad, but it isn't great either. Our Cookeville group will have a much tougher trip on their hands though. Sounds good for the last few MTNs of the year at least.

Looks impossible for me currently. Might be able to swing it every once in the blue moon, but definitely nothing consistant, bon voyage MTN crew. I hardly knew thee.
