Kuuhaku Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Overview Lambda's zoning can still be a pain in the ass for Rachel. She also has pretty decent mid screen damage. Increased wind momentum makes it much easier to get in on Lambda though, and Lambda no longer has a DP. As Lambda's a zoner, the general game plan is to get in on her, then corner carry and do the usual. Tips/Misc Tempest Dahlia can be used to punish some of Lambda's slower projectiles. gli Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I started to use 5B has a way to stuff Spike Chasers. I think that's a reasonable way of dealing with it if you are short on primers. Just don't do it predictably though.
LordPangTong Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Hey fellow Rachel players. I've been having trouble with this match quiteee a bit. It's very hard to get in on Lambda because she doesn't give you a chance to summon pumpkin in neutral. Winding at her with a dash/air dash/air tech is good, but I find it difficult to evade Lambda's swords because of Rachel's fairly large hitbox. If Lambda gets you in the corner and sits just outside of 6B's range, there is nothing you can do but sit there and lose your already poor stock of primers. Any advice fellas?
Chazmobile Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Try to bait swords, once you see her whiff one, that's your cue to wind in there and try to stay there as long as possible; 4dd is also a good opportunity to close the gap. Also, if a Lambda tries to summon full screen spike chaser, you can probably summon pumpkin on reaction, which makes rushing her down pretty easy. Tempest Dahlia works really well to get you in if you feel the meter is worth it. Finally, rod placement is really important as well, if you get one close to her or on Lambda, you can make her much more afraid to push buttons, guaranteed pole placement helps with this a lot. Hope this helped.
calendula Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Lambda's 3c is comes out fast and has decent range, keep that in mind through out the match.
CrescentSaber Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Watch out for 4B also. Some Lambdas will throw it out unexpectedly. If you think you can, try and react to parsers. 5B or 6B will do the trick with proper timing. 2C can beat her C parser but loses to the other two. Aside from that, throw out lobelias EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. Make sure they NEVER underestimate Rachel when she has rods placed.
[SpA]Relentless Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) Played a few sets against emjay's Lambda the last 2 days and let me tell you: Winded techs are so godlike in this matchup, I honestly believe they make it a 5-5 (or at least close to it). It destroys all oki Lambda has and that's the only thing that got better for her in CS2. Some common ways to apply a winded tech: *) After you got hit by an aircombo ending with j214D (crescent saber): Airtech after you bounce from the ground with 3D. This will let you apply pressure if she tried doing 236D Oki or punish a 214D. Lambda can catch you with 2D if she predicts it, but you can delay your airtech3D and make the 2D whiff and apply pressure again. *) After you got hit by 236B (Low Act Parser), emergency tech or neutral tech with 5D will get you rid of 236D Oki. Pretty sure you're forced to block or dodge 214D, but 214D~C can definitely be punished. *) After you got knocked away by a defensive burst, airtech before you hit the ground, then immediately airdash with 6D. Punishes 214D and again gets rid of 236D. I wasn't able to use it yet (cause my reactions suck :S) but I saw it in videos and it's definitely legit. You can't really abuse this all the time because eventually Lambda will wise up and try to catch your winded approaches, but then again you can just not do a winded tech and you won't be forced to block mixups if she's scared enough to not do oki anymore.
