After saving a replay, is there a way to get the data onto a PC for uploading? Maybe a small write-up would be nice for the folks like me who are new to this idea.

I don't think there's a way to directly transfer replay data. I believe everyone just records their TV screen through a capture device or a camera.

So I played a bunch of matches with Zeth's Bang two nights ago and forgot to save them. Luckily Zeth was a bro and uploaded everything:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzk1gol1heg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npz5xSbgzBg

Both of these parts are 15+ minutes, so there's no need to watch all of it. It gets pretty stupid after 5 matches or so anyway.

And here are two matches I've uploaded.

vs Litchi

vs Litchi 2

I have no idea what to do about Litchi's new 6C. You can see in the second video I just let it hit me so I don't get guard broken.

All I can say is jump around more, since you don't really have any other way to move in without getting hit. And then when you jump around more, watch out for anti-air. But hey, if you jump in at her and barrier block her anti-air, you're still closer than you were before. Force her backwards constantly and then try to catch her doing something dumb as you corner her.

That is how you play Tager, I can't critique those match ups atm I will tomorrow when I am on.

To the vid above, work on your block 720, you could have easily punished Hazama's special thing with it.

Crap, I don't have a CS2 vid of my tager yet.

Guess it's time to record with my phone.

I hope it won't be too disgusting

I'm sure you already know this, but execution is the elephant in the room, you dropped almost every combo you went for and at times didn't even attempt the most efficient combos. Unless you request it, I'm not going to go over every single one, but I will say your use of MTW was highly inefficient. Rather than go for an unburstable collider whiff MTW TB you went for two resets which were both dangerous. Which might be justified if the combo wouldn't have been a kill combo, but it sooo was. What was with the Bsledge MTW about also? I would quit that altogether, tell me your reason for it and I'll tell you something more efficient for it.

You lucked out because he got impatient (Love it when they do that), but Hazama didn't have to go near you ever, since you spent most of the time walking forward or backward, which he can zone safely. Moving under and over chains are slow ways to try and get into range, random spark bolts from full screen are really high risk, you can punish some low chains on reaction, so it is good to have spark to limit his options if nothing else.

Regular throw isn't a great punish for gaps, or for damage, but it is safer on whiff... I want to ask whether you were going for forward or back throw. Since most of the forward throws would have put him full screen away and back throws are as slow as your jab anyway.

That's a pretty nice phone recording btw.

There are quite a few things to work on... I would start with the execution. You dropped quite a few combos. Though I couldn't tell from the video if that was lag or not. Practice Atomic Colliders in regular Tager situations, such as 2C-Atomic, 6C-Atomic, Backthrow-delay5C-(6A)-Atomic.

Another thing would be that you should blow people up for doing something really unsafe, such as that Hazama who did Jayoku on block. 720 it to make them feel REAL SOVIET DAMAGE.

Lastly, Spark Bolts. You should use these with care. You should make it dangerous for your opponent to approach you blindly, and use it when they least expect it. Unfortunately, Spark Bolts doesn't follow targets, so if Hazama is trying to zone you out with Chains, you shouldn't waste it on thin air.

First and foremost thank you for taking the time watch my vids :keke:

Can't really pretend the opposite , I am still new to VS genre scene and I am still learning how to execute correctly my combos.

You prolly noticed how 263C ended as 3C in my vids :/

Unless you request it, I'm not going to go over every single one, but I will say your use of MTW was highly inefficient.

That's exactly what I am looking for , I mostly played my tager so far by abusing Sledge + Grab sledge combo that worked in CS1 , now that it got removed in CS2 , I need to learn new trick , or I should say learn the basics.

What was with the Bsledge MTW about also? I would quit that altogether, tell me your reason for it and I'll tell you something more efficient for it.

I Tried to do a Sledge confirm > Rapid Cancel > MTW

That's a pretty nice phone recording btw.

Found an alternative way to record didn't use my phone in the end :)

Thanks for the tip , i ll work on this

Sadly , I don't 720 cause i am not confidant with them :/, always fear to end up jumping and getting punished for it.

Roger that

Bsledge, if it hits, usually leads to a combo, sometimes just a mix up as they have enough time to tech the stagger/you are to far away.

It prorates a fair bit by itself, but if you did bsledge rapid super you'd get ok damage. Just ok. Not really that much more than the combo and for 100% meter that is pretty awful unless it is death. If you want to burn meter there are other ways, like spinny super rapid mix ups or burst safe 360 combos.

720's come easier off of obvious punishes like that blocked super. You have a lot of time to buffer several rotations to make sure the game knows you're spinning that stick, then you just have to press the button when you recover from block stun.

Spend some time learning to combo off hits that you get, but also pay a lot of attention to what your opponents do so that you can learn their options. You don't want to throw every time they jump in a block string because you weren't paying attention.

Incidentally, whilst 236B RC is a waste of heat, 2D RC is a fantastic use of it as it's a bigger hit and prorates really well (Well, for tager anyway).

Very noteworthy. You can get 4kish without doing anything particularly fancy and you get some heat back.

Speaking of 2D RC, In CS1 sometimes you had to do 2D RC walk 6A 2C..... Can you now use 6[A] to pull them in a little bit instead of walking?

Me herping on netplay with a Rachel player.

Ask any questions critique if you like this is just note taking.

Edit: @ Manta: you can actually just do 6A without walking, 2D leaves you closer to your opponent now.

I was definitely testing stuff on Rachel, I have 2 more vids to upload.

You can tell through the vids that I was searching for ways to get to Rachel.

It was more like a "try this and see how it works" approach to matches.

Also ribbit ribbit ribbit

So for the whole you block and read Rachel. That must be rough. How you tried nailing her with j.B before?
