DoctaMario Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 One of the things that everyone seems to say about the GG scene is that it needs some revitalization. I think one of the best ways to do that would be to make a Guilty Gear Anthology for PS3 and 360. Not only would it make GG playable on recent systems, but it could serve as a sort of historical benchmark to show where the series has been. Maybe it could include every GG game up until Accent Core (excluding Overture and maaaybe Isuka, but Isuka could be a lot of fun if they fixed the Turn button shenenigans.) like GG1 and GGX. The more controversial (as I see it anyway) of these ideas is the idea for an iPhone Guilty Gear. Why iPhone? Well, for one, think of all the people who have iDevices. It could increase the number of people who possibly buy the game by a lot. It could also be a testing ground. They used the iPhone version of that game RAGE as a way to test certain aspects of the game before it made it to bigger systems. ArcSys could use it to test new mechanics and see how they work, in game with real people playing it before they commit said mechanics to a larger game. Sure it would have to be paired down a bit to be playable, but I think if they DO make a new GG, it's going to get paired down a bit anyway. There's no way we'll have Accent Core Part 2. Graphically the game could look incredible (look at KOF-i's hand drawn graphics!) and that alone would probably sell it if it were put out at a reasonable price. They could update it and add more characters like Capcom does with iSF4. SF4 Volt has also shown that good netplay for a fighter on an iDevice is a possibility so it could be the first GG (non PC anyway) to have real netplay. It would a low risk/cost way for a lot more people to get into the game, get familiar with the mechanics of it, and if/when it DOES finally come to the home consoles, they'll be more likely to pick it up. I know something like this is probably a few years off, but I think if ArcSys really played their cards right, the GG scene could be healthy once again (outside of Japan that is).
ThatKid Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Sounds like a good idea, because the only fighting games I can think of on the app store are KOF i-02 and Street fighter 4 volt (feel free to direct me to any I have missed). I wouldn't even mind other ark system works fighters on the store.
Squared Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 add more characters So do you mean start with 5 er so chars and add new ones on over time? cause for a second I thought you meant add new chars to the original roster which would be a terrible idea for a couple reasons. anyway, they are planning to make a new guilty gear but we can only speculate on whether or not it will hold true to its predecessor.
Blade Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't mind a HD port of Overture on PS3, I bet PSN could handle it better. I'd be up for a Missing Link/X+/#R/Slash/Isuka/Judgement/Dust Strikers/AC+ Bundle as well. Edited August 26, 2011 by Blade
Coperiv Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) I'm an Android user. Do you know any options for Android OS? Edited December 19, 2011 by Coperiv
Fenrir Werwolf Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 There is already the first GG:the missing link for mobile devices Also, GG is not that much story driven that actually needs an antology. Just the AC port will satisfy many. Oh, Fighting games for Iphone/android are ridicoulus (Even SFIV was)
