Tiamat Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 lol I just thought of that randomly cause once I was beating this friend of mine just by spamming the hell out of it and doing tick throws with it. just kept doing it repeatedly. I told him he could probably backdash out of the repeating jabs or something but he either couldn't or he failed miserably lol. Vegeta's reversal works though I know that...
Kanebou Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I enjoy diverting the conversation over to Cell... Though I find his Heavy Homing better than his jab, especially with the skill that let's you continue your dash/homing even when hit. Videl gets Vegeta's counter too, but she sucks nonetheless.
Kanebou Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Is this game still popular? It's been months since anyone has talked about it.
PozerWolf Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Is this game still popular? It never was popular to begin with. I'm actually thinking of hitting up on this game again soon just because I like it. However, the lack of comp for the game really dis-motivates me.
furix Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Yeah, there is a seroius lack of competition for this game. Such shame as this game is really fun...
PozerWolf Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I actually didn't know that the American version is different from the Jap version. Supposly certain combos don't work in the American version and you got stupid tone downs (like Piccolo not being able to combo from jump Heavy). Don't know much in-depth info, but I'm trying to find myself a jap copy of the game to see whats up.
furix Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Oh.. so that's why! I kept trying to do some Picolo combos I saw in one video once... with jump heavy, but they NEVER worked. >.<
blackstar14 Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 ...what can't you pull off with j.H? Everything I've seen in vids (I've watched most of the vids from Red/White/Yellow freeza) looks pretty standard.
furix Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 well I noticed that some things that worked before when I played the arcade and japanese demo... didn't work in the US version, but at first I wasn't sure if I was doing it right.

PozerWolf Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 You can't combo off j.H if you don't have wall smash. If thats what your talking about. Perty much I was told this: Goku's Tornado Kick cant be combo'd from on the ntsc version. Piccolo's jumping strong doesn't give you juggles in ntsc version. A lot of combos and among other things were toned down from the japanese version. If you play the american version, and then watch videos of the japanese version playing you'll notice a huge difference. Piccolo's j.H seems to 'cause the opponent to just slide and not actually give a juggle afterwords. I'm not too sure wiether or not you need some special ability to give j.H a ground bounce, but when I asked for a list of changes in the american version, the reply I got is what you see in the quote.
blackstar14 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Well that does explain why I notice alot of the combos I see do stupid damage and when trying to replacate them, I always felt like I was missing something since the damage was noticably different. But besides that, I don't see much of a difference. Which is the ntsc version? Like what countries sell it? When in versuses mode, I'm not sure which handicapp setting it should be on, since it's normally all the way up, but two combos and your dead, so I know thats wrong. Typically I play on 4.

Handicap 4 is a little much. 3 is default, I don't know what gave you the idea that it was any bigger. Plus, two to three combos and your dead sounds about right. And you don't know what the ntsc version is? Well, look at your game cover and find the "ntsc" symbol on it (assuming you bought it in amercia or whatever).
blackstar14 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 aright so checked it. Yea, I thought it was wall smash, but, I thought it was so straight forward, that I was thinking too much about it. I use to do the falling H,66+L,L dash,L,L,214+L_L,unfly H,H, Super Kama with goku when I played him and had wall smash so positive it had nothing to do with the game version. Anyway, everyones been saying the game doesn't get played which is true, but crazymasterhand had a link to an interview with the creator who said that they WILL have another sequal to the game but it'll be for one of the next gen consoles.....so basically i'll be playing SDBZ until I decide to buy a ps3 which will be never.
PozerWolf Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I found out that nothing was wrong with the American version. WTF? :8/: to let ya know u dont need the pal version for thos juggle combos. All ya need is wall smash technique from teh skill tree. My bad. keep your ntsc version, and bring the rape another time. Assuming he's talking about Piccolo (which blackstar14 seems right about the wall smash thing). Still asking wiether or not it is the exact same gameplay-wise. Funny thing was, I actually stopped playing Super DBZ because of this, lol.
Tiamat Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 piccolo is trash without wallsmash piccolo with wallsmash = good stuff cause it makes his jH go from total ass to godly wallsmash makes a lot of his other moves better too like beam cannon and special beam cannon (I think). his damage is totally retarded

Except, it seem like the way I was told was that he didn't need wall smash (from the posts before). But it seems obvious that he does. Piccolo does not have many mix-up options, but he has great attack range and does a lot of damage for the type of character that he is.

Kinda put Super down and tried to focus on GG once Accent core dropped. but yea, I heard of the sequel in development, but didn't hear anything about it being a next gen game. I mean it's really too early to call with it having to hit arcades first and foremost.
CrimsonDisaster Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Super DBZ? More like Super Magneto no Ken II: Turbo
Tiamat Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 lolz and i kinda see what you mean when you posted a long time ago that the only way to win in this game is to not do anything XD
PozerWolf Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 lolz and i kinda see what you mean when you posted a long time ago that the only way to win in this game is to not do anything XD Wait, what?!?!?!? If you don't do anything............. yeah, you'll just die without even noticing it >_>
Tiamat Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 naw like...what do you do if they are just sidestepping at long range?
PozerWolf Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 naw like...what do you do if they are just sidestepping at long range? Ummmmmm... I don't know if you know this but when you hit forward, you move closer to the opponent. Some may go as far as to say its a hidden move in the game, seeing as how it isn't listed in the booklet. Now if you wanna go advance, there is something called "zoning". But, that should be discussed another time.
