NeoGio0o Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Not sure if this has been posted but counter hit J.D after the wallbounce your opponent can tech before they hit the ground. The other drives seem unchanged when they CH as I saw CH 2D,J.4D still worked,overall tao looked much stronger this week so stay optimistic fellow tao's as she is looking pretty strong right about now. XDest after we see a little more concrete AB2 usage it's safe to open the CSEX combo thread as I'm starting to see a pattern in what CSEX Tao's are hit confirming into as well as similar enders.
KM Riku Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 If anyone is curious, Tsujikawa switched to Tao again saying that she's fun now. Anyway, Nikki from our brazilian forum is translating changes/notes/combos/comments about every character (he translated almost every character by now). Probably he will translate Tao's later this week, but I asked him to let Tao be the last character in his list so her jbbs would have more information by the time he translate it.
Cryingvoid Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Awesome! Tsuji is back! Our mentor for life Can't wait for his vids with combos fully tested. Riku, about the j.b > j.c route, is it safe to say, that when we confirm a croucher and it won't supposedly connect, we can do just 5B/2B>6A straight and still get decent dmg?
NeoGio0o Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Tsujikawa + satsuno is all I need to keep playing tao, also 5B,2B,6A was the combo route I was thinking of for solid mid-screen damage only problem is that you need to be at a certain distance to get 2B,6A to work.The 6A will whiff if your too far away.....hopefully it still combo's. currentlemon Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sorry for the intrusion of your forum Tao players, but I just want to ask something. Overall, how did Tao change in Extend. I wasn't really paying attention to her in CS2 nor I played against a lot of Tao players.
Cryingvoid Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 At first it seemed for the worse, but now, as jp tao players have used her for awhile, she looks much better and stronger. What I guess we all hope for is a strong character with pretty difficult combos and many specific notes. Basically, she is not what she used to be any longer. She may prove even more dangerous than she was in CS2 in terms of confirming, spacing and tricks, but no more stupid 7k loops. It is as I see it.
Mystic d Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 For what it's worth: 5B (Anti-Air) -> 5C -> JC -> j.8D~A -> land -> j.C -> j.8D~A -> 2D~9 -> j.9D~9 -> j.3D~C -> j.C -> j.6D~6 -> j.C -> j.9D~9 -> j.236BBBBB [3737] Also, I'm sure Tao has some nice Gold burst combos now that can probably reach 8 or 9k in corner (unless they changed the P2 of gold burst; i didn't read all of the system changes)
KM Riku Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 From Tsujikawa twitter: - 2[C] FC->6[C]->Cat 3->2D~C->Gold Burst->6C->AB2 combo->RC in the last Cat 2->Gold Burst->6C->Cat 2 x3 [~11000dmg] 8k with 50% meter and no gold burst 10k with 100% meter and 1 gold burst
Fluck Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Gyuudon posted on his blog that Tao is demonic. CA nerf was pretty justified imo :3
KM Riku Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I think he called the combo demoniac, not Tao herself lol.
XDest Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 6C's new properties pretty much allows AB2 combos off any low near corner D~A. For example on the JBBS: 6C -> 6D~6 -> 2D~6 -> j.C -> 5D~A -> 6C -> AB2 ender Pretty sure we'll end up with a hell of a lot more going into that. It seems like that's where the awesome damage is at.
NeoGio0o Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) XDest in that nico video you posted it looks like the hakumen player crouched at the last second;it makes sense to try and block after a whiff grab. Still that was a very easy hit confirm so 2B into 3.5K looks really practical, overall tao is looking great outside of the defensive nerfs. any new info on JBBS? Edited October 14, 2011 by NeoGio0o
XDest Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Apparently the characters thought to not work with the 5C->j.B link actually do work, but you have to change up your timing for it (you'll see the word jump delay come up several times). From JBBS: "ラグナ ジン ツバキ ハザマは立ちくらいjB昇りコンのディレイ必須" Roughly: "Ragna, Jin, Tsubaki, Hazama standing j.B combo you are required to jump delay!
KM Riku Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 From Whister/Uisura twitter: (Coner) Air Throw->dash 5C->j.C->j.D~A->6C->4D~A->6C->6C->AB2->6C->6C->HJC->Cat2->etc [~6400dmg] 4 6C in a row, I like it :3
NeoGio0o Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Is it possible to use Tao's j.B as an IOH due to it's new hit box? Also has it been confirmed if you still have to delay J.b to make it an Overhead or did they just changed it to a mid? Tao 6K with AB2 off a forward throw is just amazing. Makes you feel like your playing AE Yun just without a dive kick/broken normals.
KM Riku Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I don't think they changed its hitbox at all. Even if they did, it still doesn't hit most of crouching characters if you don't delay it...maybe it work against Tager or Hakumen.
NeoGio0o Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Well on a standing opponent it would work, though your right about the crouching thing. Still I wonder if they fixed that weird glitch in which when you do 214D-fast j.b it's a mid but when you delay the j.b it suddenly becomes an overhead.
iTz.WiiTarD Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 tao is starting to look good again, its nice to see ab2 in good combos now, i did leave tao in cs2, her combo just seemed boring, but now with more different combos, she will be worth playing again,
KM Riku Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Well on a standing opponent it would work, though your right about the crouching thing. Still I wonder if they fixed that weird glitch in which when you do 214D-fast j.b it's a mid but when you delay the j.b it suddenly becomes an overhead. It's not a glitch, j.B first hit is an overhead while the second is not. If you do it too fast, the first hit miss and you only hit the second, which is mid.
NeoGio0o Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 It's not a glitch, j.B first hit is an overhead while the second is not. If you do it too fast, the first hit miss and you only hit the second, which is mid. There is actually a way to make the first hit a mid as well,the timing on making It an overhead is Dumb. The entire idea of making one hit a mid and one an overhead is silly if you ask me. Thanks for the insight,now would you be so kind on telling me how to do that 5D,RC,IAD,J.a that satsuno has been doing.I can never get the air dash to come out.
NeoGio0o Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Weird when I tried that I still could not get the air dash to come out. Oh well I'll give it another shot then at least I know I was on the right track. Thanks again Km for the help.
XDest Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 I'm starting to see a bunch of players reset while in AB2, then restart the combo with 2B/5B into another 4k+. Pretty impressive damage-wise. Regardless of the double not being able to mixup, you personally still can. Also, if they're in the air, 6C actually seems to wallbounce a good bit away from the wall, allowing you to simply run up and 6C again to continue the combo. I've also seen 5B -> 5C -> j.B -> j.2B -> j.C actually being looped into a reset in recent videos, pretty interesting.
