We don't know if ANY of that is true, he may be stuck when preforming Ignis attacks, his pressure game might sucks, he could have bad defense, his pokes might be super slow. What we THINK and what we KNOW are two different things, and the only things we KNOW is that he can do lots of damage. But you know who else could do lots of damage and wasn't "crazy good"? Hakumen, Tsubaki, Litchi, Taokaka, Carl, Valkenhayn and Jin. They were all good and solid characters, but none of them were over the top or just plain retarded, so I wouldn't worry too much about Relius being a broken character until he starts to get broken down over time.
Solex Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) well we do know that ignis can do some attacks while relius is also attacking from vids and stuff but you are totally right about the defensive options and pokes ive just seen 5b's range and it seemed maybe like 10 frames or so, so i was thinking it was gonna be pretty damn good but you are still right about the damge ya most of the cast can get 10k or so with the right heat and starters but this is off of a 5b thats what made me cringe most of all most of the cast cant get this damage off on a standing regular hit 5b..haz prolly can... fuck a decent amount probably can and ya relius getting broken after a period of time is what im worried about Edited October 5, 2011 by Solex
PhoenonX Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Relius Pressure and Blockstrings look pretty safe from what I've seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjYdntzxY08 At 0:18 in the video the Relius player does a seemingly very tight blockstring on Ragna, gets a hit in, ends it in knockdown and is able to follow up the pressure by covering Ignis' Guard Primer Breaking move with Jumping Air Normals. of course Ragna could Inferno Divider, but it could be blocked and be Fatal Countered for a nice beefy 5-6k combo, should the combo be proven true, and granted Ragna can't Rapid out of it. I'm just theory fighting though, of course.

Relius is one of those characters (like Hazama) where conceptual playstyle outweighs most other factors that would keep them down. That potential pressure game makes him a solid character. The only blaring weakness I can see him having is the same problem Carl and other pressure dependent characters have: Hakumen. Edited October 5, 2011 by kenja0

Ronove Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 More stuff: Midscreen (with Ignis already on screen) 5A > 5B > 5C > 3D(2) > 5B > 6B > 5C(1) > j.B > jc > j.B > j.C > Id > Haas -> damage around 3000 Other sparse comments are that he seems to have pretty good overall damage but his dash is slow and he has some trouble keeping the opponent pinned down once he starts his offense. Of course these are all early impressions, so take them with a grain of salt.
