At first I thought it was some water since the ice was melting, but it was way too rigid. Then I realized that the windshield itself was cracking. Now it's almost cracked in half and I'm afraid if I poke it it's going to shatter into a million pieces. It just happened out of nowhere too. I guess it was too cold? I don't think it's legal to drive around with the car like this...

Take it to your local mechanic(given you have decent visibility, otherwise tow it) and ask them if they can treat the cracks, otherwise you might have to replace the whole thing which will be costly.
