MetalMaelstrom Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Nominees: IkeTakeda MadTeaParty Zeron Zakiyama On a serious note, I only started the combo stuff and tutorials because those are the only questions I see getting asked frequently. I can't recall the last time I came on here and saw someone ask "Hey guys, how do I play this character?" Plus it's much easier to post a bunch of stuff right away without me having to go to UFO, get my ass kicked by Marcell, Pozer, Scottie, Josh, or Kenneth, and then me going back home and trying to figure out why. But luckily, Scottie plays a lot of characters (even though he's aching to play GG and P4A), so perhaps I could post some match-up stuff about the characters that he plays... besides his main, Tager, of course. As far as just general good habits for the character goes? I'd say marksmanship and a deep understanding of movement are the two most important things. Hazama's pressure can be auto-pilot for the most part and safe as fuck, and his hit-confirms midscreen that don't involve Zaneiga are either just Normals > 3C > Jabaki/Ressenga or AA Normals > 4D~D > j.214B#. Hazama is the king of movement in this game (with Tao being the queen), but it can be difficult getting used to how his movement works and utilizing it to it's full potential. That, and aiming his chains and using it to bully people from afar takes both knowing how and where your opponent is going to move and good reflexes. I'll just stop there before I make a tl;dr paragraph of crap. Point is, I've heard your call, I'll start posting less about combos and more about set-ups/hit-confirms/movement options and all that good stuff. All in good time.
Guymam Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Cool. Now everything about involving the TK loop can go into the TK loop thread. That cleans up all the posts about it scattered throughout the Hazama forums. Next we start a Hazama play primer thread, wherein we discuss general strategies and things like that. Then someone takes the good stuff and puts it into the revamped CS2 tutorial thread, which now not only includes everything that's in there (besides any obsolete or now incorrect information), but also good pressure ideas, general gameplan in certain situations (i.e. Near death, fighting a dp character, oki setups, things of that nature) and keep it for that only with no other posts other than any vital information to be added to it remaining underneath it. In theory, the total number of threads we need are 7. [stickied]General off topic Hazama (top hat) [stickied]QnA and Tidbits (Critique of one's Hazama can go here) [stickied]Video thread [stickied]Hazama Guide (includes all the combos and etc. I mention before.) Chain Movement Primer Serious Gameplay only discussion thread (for use in discussing serious gameplay things to be added to the guide and to discuss technical things about the character) TK Loop Primer Then the character matchups of course go in their respective threads. This is my version of a utopian Hazama forum. This is pretty much the only necessary things. Anything else is clutter. P.S. I'm always kawaii. Edited March 22, 2012 by Guymam
MetalMaelstrom Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I agree. Honestly, the combo thread is just temporary. Ideally, either Zeron, Dusty, you or myself would be the OP of the Guide thread and we'd all form consensus in what should be in it and be in contact with the OP to update it. The combo thread that exists right now would just be integrated into the guide. Perhaps we should start now on what to include in the guide, what the format should be, etc. My personal opinion it should look like: *Sexy Splash Header* Little introductory tidbit Movelist Drive explanation part 1: movement Drive explanation part 2: zoning Combo theory/hit-confirming guide Pressure and neutral game Actual combo list Maybe some advanced tech trap/oki explanation stuff at the end Feel free to go ahead and add to this list or perhaps change/curtail it as well as contribute your own thoughts as to what you might put under these sections.
yashanyu1 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I guess I should make a sexy splash header then.
Nakkiel Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 You all should do well to remember that a moderator's basic duty is to moderate offensive or off-topic content among boards. It is not Dusty's, KV's or any other potential moderator ever to supply you with information. Post your own tech, find your own info, learn match-ups, if you want the boards to be good, a moderator is not going to make or break it. It's the users. I even think it's ludicrous that boards even have 2 moderators, the traffic of this site hardly requires 2 per character board. LK is the only Litchi moderator but he also has Mynus and myself supplying information and answering questions consistently over almost 2 years of time, not including other users piping up. I'm not speaking about anyone's performance as a moderator and what I think of it, but really guys, take care of your own boards. Easy way to earn respect.
Whiteboywilly Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Man this thread makes me feel so bad for so many people on so many levels.
ZeroRaider Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Obviously someone hasn't looked at LK's thread lately. Today's special word is..."dumb" sG: Posting and sharing tech was my main concern here, ease of access into starting to learn the character for newcomers too. Mods are not really an issue here, this place does fair with or without them. The threads started here lately are definitely something in the right direction, I believe. With consistence though, that may take awhile, but not impossible here. There are some good people that want this board to be useful and not messy with people asking the same things over and over because they can't find what they're looking for. Anyway I'll do what I can to contribute here and hope for the best, guys. Edited March 29, 2012 by ZeroRaider
_Sey Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Amazing discovery guys, Hazama has not one but two kara throws! too bad they only add flashy animations and no additional range. 5b~c = you can see the first frames of 5B before the throw. 2c~b = you get 2C's knives sparkle while throwing. Gyokuran Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Hi, i'm a Chilean user of Haz, i'm always checking Dustloop but this is my first time talking in the forums. Sorry if my English is bad, i think that's quite basic. So, i'm helping if i can and learning the rest.
MetalMaelstrom Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Ahhhh....sure is peaceful around these parts. I like it better this way. It means less work.
ZeroRaider Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I like to think its because the threads here are doing their job and making it easy for people so they don't have to ask the same questions and we don't give the same answers every month.
Guymam Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 It's probably because no one plays Hazama. :v Also this threads name sucks. I miss top hat top hat top hat
MetalMaelstrom Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 All future Hazama general threads must focus on his articles of clothing. "You wish you had a topcoat." "Yeah, I know they aren't really gloves. So?" "If I didn't wear two belts, my trousers might slip off during a fight. I mean, who would want that?" "They aren't steel-toed boots, imbecile. They're loafers with metal guards."
Guymam Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Hazama is a mathlete. He defeats Takemagahara. With neverending math. Ballers.
yashanyu1 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Shit, I leave this forum for like a month and it dies...
ZeroRaider Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Well shit, there were finals for a lot of people(myself included). But now, for me, I'm busy trying to platinum Resonance of Fate. Almost forty hours in; not much progress...
MetalMaelstrom Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I've been playing Acceleration of Suguri 2 recently. Does anyone else here play that game?
ZeroRaider Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Nope, don't mind trying anything new though. ANYWAY, its that time of year again. Happy Birthday to me I guess.
MetalMaelstrom Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Don't you mean happy birthday to Kugimiya Rie? You should feel grateful for sharing a birthday with her, commoner.
