"OOO and is this your amazing offensive game with the camper penality system?" (after hazama timed out tager in a Tournament grand final)

Damn, I wish I knew who the Hazama player was :kitty:

But really, most people who say this stuff are straight up idiots or just joking around / they have to put us with us trolling their game back~

You know what would REALLY piss them off?

Be the better man (you and your pals), just ignore them and play the game you like. Be polite, don't retaliate, just show them how petty they are by being indifferent about them and their insults. After all, you're playing BB, a good game which you love to play

Yes I know but im not that type of person,I think Im a good person but "not the better person": when the shit starts im in the first line

To be honest I shitted a bit on sf4(not just me but also some other players who just quit the game in favor of non-fighters) on my own but not as much as the sf4 players did AND I played it for 2 years at a good level

with what I assume is a good amount of people, judging by your story. So why bother?

And this is the sad part,we dont have big numbers, lets say 100+ sf players and 30 bb players in the whole country

I was the first one who quit the game and Im so glad I did it because I realy dont know if the other players would try something else on their own

When we started playing bb during our local meetings we were 3 players + 2 other players who played also(more)sf4, 1 player of those 2 is missing due to personal issues and the other needed months to learn prorate variation combos and other stuff due to the fact that sf4 was still his main game

now we have 4 more players from sf4 and they are very dedicated to the game(quit or almost quit sf4)and they are enjoying the game more than they even did during sf4 times(their words)so Im fine,we are 9 localy plus maybe some more guys in the next future

After all, you're playing BB, a good game which you love to play, and with what I assume is a good amount of people, judging by your story. So why bother? Just hype up your game as much as you can without shitting on their game. I say 'shitting' as in just plainly insulting their game the way they do it to you. Should they try to win over a newcomer to the fighting game community at the arcades (assuming that's where your scene hangs out and plays), stroll up to them and say "Hey, want to try out our game? You might like it" as politely as you can. And if the other guys try to diss your game in front of the newbie, just politely refute him (with examples from tourneys, hell even visual examples) Don't try to diss his game back. BB is actually legit, while SF has stupid design flaws, it's pretty easy, really.

It's important you do this politely, because again, it shows quite obviously how much of a difference the BB players and the SF4 players there is in terms of behaviour and attitude, which would win the interest of new players, seeing how BB players are all cool cats while the SF players are just haters.

Also never, never, NEVER dissuade the newbies from trying out SF4. Let them try it out. The only time you should voice out why SF4 is such a dumb game is when they ask you why YOU don't play it.

I swear you do this, and they can do absolutely JACK SHIT about you and the BB players there. They'll try to 'break' you (you know, troll you, get a reaction from you), but if you do this right, they'll just break themselves. You'll become an Iron Wall.

Also, if you haven't already, play GG. :eng101:

This, a hundred times!

Everyone else - stop shitting up my thread with EVO drama. I'm done with that. This thread is about better attitudes and getting butts in seats near yourself. anything else can GTFO because I don't want my shit deleted, too.

Keep the talk to a positive manner about the threads original topic. No more EVO talk in here please.

Yeah, lets just just play the game we like and try to get people playing it.

Helping a guy host a small multi game tourney. Gonna try to get some BB played for sure, weather it be just casuals or tournament.

I wanna play this game more but over in Pittsburgh no one is willing to learn/play the game seriously ;___;

So I end up playing a bunch of Marvel, SF and random amount of KOF most of the time.

But something that's actually possible is at local gatherings and such, not only try to get people to play the game, but try and make it visible to other people either through recording matches or streaming those matches. Recording matches doesn't need to be something high tech, something as simple as a tripod and a camcorder can be used to get some decent matches. I know the AH3 matches at East Coast Throwdown 3 was done through this, and the quality is all too bad in all honesty. Just need to make sure people don't walk in front of the camcorder.

If you want to capture directly, but not pay alot of money you can probably get something kinda cheap that only records composite cables. Keep in mind that you'll need splitters for the video and audio cables and such. I have some video when I used it for streaming so if you want to look at that for a bit, http://www.twitch.tv/superscience890/b/290158117

As for microphones, interestingly enough Rockband mics turn out to work pretty well for that kind of thing and are also pretty cheap.

Yea.... This post turned out a little longer than I thought, but TL;DR - Another way to get this to public eye is recording matches and posting them, alerting Shoryuken, Dustloop, w/e to show the community is active.

Also, let you level up with other people's input

I think the problem lies more so with how other people perceive the actual game than our own community. There are problems within the BB community, but other people who don't play BB refuse to give it a chance because:

-It's not a capcom game

-It's not GGAC

Oh THOSE people. Sure, BlazBlue is no Guilty Gear. The characters and music might not be as good, nor the gameplay: But it's still a damn good game and matching up to Guilty Gear Accent Core is near impossible, considering it is probably one of the best 2D Fighters ever made(In my opinion, it is. But I'm a Baised ArcSys fan)

This comes from someone who can't BEAR anything made by capcom. I hate SF4 with a undying passion and MvC3, god damnit just GTFO. BlazBlue is much different from GG, as I play both I guess I can say this. Guilty Gear is much more idk, animalistic and fast, and the characters are usually all over the screen. BlazBlue is much slower and more strategic. The Guilty Gear players who bash BlazBlue because it's not Guilty Gear are the same as the people who bash Sonic because it's not Mario, and the people who give Zelda games 10/10 just because "It's Zelda." I'm a big fan of ArcSys, and I won't deny that Guilty Gear has flaws. The fact nothing from ArcSys is in EVO2012 and it's mostly dominated by Capcom makes me sad.

Why BB got cut from EVO2012 I don't know, because it did so well last time. EVO needs to have multiple line-ups instead of 5 Games.

I bet BB got cut because of burst. Too many Youtube fighters and not enough people playing the game for what it's worth. Capcom made great fighters until after Marvel v. Capcom. Everything after that had no substance. And SF4 is too slow for nowadays. MvC3 is by far, the most Youtube star ridden game there is out now. Everybody plays with the top tier and nobody plays with the radicals. I find it more fun to fight my friends using rocket raccoon than using dante or virgil. And people always forget that even though BB and GG are made by the same company, they were made by different teams. They won't play the same, even if ideas were borrowed. Your gonna have die-hard fanboys for almost every underground hit, but I get kinda frustrated watching the feeds on shoryuken. The evo roster looks too slow for my tastes...

Shame BlazBlue is such a awesome series but to most people it falls short of Capcom games even though I get more hyped playing/seeing BB then SF.

ANYWAYS, Working on setting up an event. I gotta see what's going on in the next two weeks.

I like this. I'm all for this, the last major in my area only had 8 people show up for BB.

Some of them aren't even native to my area, just visiting. I usually try to take time out to get to develop a friendship/rivalry with people that I meet in BB tournaments, hoping that that relationship forged during the tournament branches out and become something bigger.

If more people here did something along those lines, there'd probably be a bigger BB scene in IL.

Also....

People. Stop comparing GG to BB, and BB to SF.

This isn't a comparing and contrasting FGs topic, you should be trying to at least give some positive feedback to help move this project forward.

This. That's half of the problem that BB has been facing since the beginning.

A lot of people in Alabama are interested in Extend, and we have some solid players who've been playing since CS 2, things are looking up here.

TC, I'm in. I just started attending (well I've been once) locals here. I would like to join in on your streams either playing or watching them while you stream. Needs more hype, I do love BB. Lastly, we do have a local fighting game stream (Boon Gorillas), but sadly that is dominated with MvC3 and SF4. I commented on the stream regarding wanting some BB (if they had that I would actually go out there), but the commentator replies not a lot of ppl play BB. Not sure of their set up, but all of us local BB players should just show up and play BB (mightfo is so pro at hyping, i bet he'd get the crowd going)

Good on you guys. Make sure people take the game as it is and get hype and stay hype. Part of this might require you to bring shit, but so be it. Just make sure whatever's in your way of keeping your stuff safe is taken care of.

People LOVE the guy who brings a console, and when it's you, you get to decide what it's for. :)
