Boodendorf Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Anybody got tips for that matchup? I'm getting stomped very hard by Litchi, I have no idea what to do against her. Her pressure is crazy and she got that ultra long range poke that's very annoying.
916zking Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) This match-up really is really tough, and I think a lot of Relius players struggle with it (remember RYO at ArcFes?). So my general tips for dealing with the long rage pokes would have to be use 214A/B/C from afar to lock her down then rush in (actually...thats what I do for most matchups but whatev). She also tends to take to the air a lot and use j.d to stop your approach, but you can stop this with well timed 4D's. If she uses four winds (the spinning staff one) then either try to weasel under it or just stay back, this move stops a lot of approaches and gets dangerous. You really need to protect Ignis well in this match-up, since Litchi can out-poke you by far. To get out of her pressure....well Relius doesn't have to much here. I'd say just look for openings in staff placement to jump out, or even try to hit a gear super if you can time it correctly. Or you can always go with Relius's best friend the CA, which I would say is the more likely option. You can follow up the CA with a 214B or 214C to get Ignis near her, and even if it doesn't hit her on wakeup you still have Ignis close to her to pressure with 2D and j.D's or use it as an opportunity to rush in for more pressure. Hope this helps ^_^ Edited June 8, 2013 by 916zking
Boodendorf Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Well I guess this does help slightly, better than not knowing anything at all lol. Sometimes when litchi jumps during her pressure, I try to anti air her with 2C but I usually eat her rod protecting her during that jump :/. Thanks for the input.
