I've played many, many games against a great terumi buddy of mine and I'll have to admit that this matchup isn't bad at all for Relius, seems in his favor. Really the only moment where Terumi seems scary is in the corner, because once he hits you he'll get some crazy damages off it. Just zone/poke him midscreen, bait his AA with j.Ds and everything should be fine. For his pressure, the dash punch is actually unsafe on block, so 5B when you block that. His 236D isn't very safe as well, and his 3 hit knife lunging move isn't at all. If he rapid that move you still have time to punish using 5D if you're in blockstun (though it's pretty hard to do I think). Kill his j.D with 4D and his j.2D with 2C if you see them coming. Aside from 236D, not a lot of his moves have range, so you can usually outpoke him with 5B/2B/6D very easily midscreen. I'll write more later when I have a clear head or something.

Looking for tips on this matchup, to me it's pretty hellish and I have no idea on how to approach the guy.

If anybody got tips on doing 632146D and 23663214C supers please tell me, I can't help but fail those supers most of the time (especially gear super) outside of combos when I could do them just fine in EX to react to stuff ;_;. And why don't we have "#1 dad" under "Relius Clover" in char subforum yet .

So, what does ETERNAL IGNIS do? I put it on my Relius and the ignis gauge is exactly the same as before. It depletes, and Ignis can't be used once it reaches 0 . I thought I'd be able to spam 5B 6D all day D:.

IAD j.A beats charged sledge, but not the followup. Very useful as you can throw out a 214C and if the Tager attempts to sledge through it you can bait that and beat it out. Don't rely on luck when anti airing, if you can use 4D rather than 2C. Much safer and you can still get a combo out of it. j.C is an instant overhead on crouching tager, you can do j.C j.2D j.B into stuff. Watch out for his own 2C tho.

Aside from "not dropping combos", you can go for simpler ones when you feel that you got too much stress on you. After a few tourneys you start getting used to it. Here's what I think you should do more: j.8/6/2D, this move lets you control space so well, you should just use it. ground 236A 214B dash, better than 214A outside of corner since it gives you a better oki, especially if the opponent immediately wakes up. Don't hold a button to wakeup, delay accordingly to roll outside of the corner/avoid a reset. Work on your pressure. 5B 3C jump cancel 6D barrier can be your basic pressure starter to get into your mixups. Maybe you know what to do and it was just the tourney mood that killed this as well but I think you still need to work on it. That's about all I can think of right now. -

Delay both the 6C after 2C and the 41236B cancel after 6C. It'll keep them low enough to have your 5B 5C(2) hit and that your 4D will launch them low enough for you to 3C at the end. Also 4D has to hit at the same time as the second hit of 5C.
