Ragna's got a pretty stylish walk. Not gonna lie.

Johnny walk > Ragna walk anyday.

I might be on soon. Depends on my homework situation (aka "Can I procrastinate more or have I run out of time?")

I love the Tager VS Ragna matchup. On both sides.

I love smacking Tager around with Ragna every time he tries to move.

I love blocking half of Ragna's stuff for 90 seconds and then killing him in 9.

GGs, NoNombreHombre, Mac and Argent! I had fun getting 720'd all over the place!

[EDIT]

You're in luck, Lime! I just left. So there should be a spot open.

ragna vs arakune

I'm gonna go after this one too. I need to set my sleep schedule right again.

All right GGs guys.

If only I knew the throw combo for Ragna. It's like throw > death spike or something.

Argent has conditioned me for this match-up so hard. I'm so damn scared most of the time. Most of the time though I'm just waiting to punish Arakune since most of the time (fuck I'm saying "most of the time" a lot but SCREW IT!) if I try and go offensive, I'll run into his multitude of counters/fatals and get cursed. When I AM cursed, I'm slowly starting to learn to block everything and be patient. Then when I notice an attempt in the Arakune to change up his offense which usually gives me a chance to throw out a move? 2A or something. But even that's silly risky. x.x I'll get hit by bugs everywhere.

[EDIT]

@ Mac

If you're in the corner, you use Dead Spike and you can either use 5C or 2C -> 6A into j.C -> j.D etc.etc.

You can also get 6B -> 5C if you wind up Dead Spiking them too high after the throw.

Midscreen? Throw -> GH (delay second hit) -> super j.C or you can catch them with a 6A innto super j.D

Wanna get REALLY fancy, back throw -> first hit of GH -> 5A -> super j.C j.D j.D Belial Edge. It even does a little bit more damage if you can get the link right.

Grab! Grab!! Grab!!! Fatal KO.

GGs Kuraudo, Nohombre, and mAc.

mAc, that is one tough Hakumen. Probably the best I've seen in a long time.

Kuraudo, you! You've been holding back, haven't ye!

Nonombre, a little too defensive in general. Try being alot more aggresive.

Well, you seemed like you were doing good enough. Although a few times you almost lost because you tried to be fancy when he was at like .1% life.

We only got to play once or twice. But I was surprised. I was expecting it to be a walk in the park (or at least as much as Arakune could be) after playing Biscuits in a FT10 and more. But you play way differently.

I had fun with my Ragna VS your Tager too. I guess you were referring to that when you said you didn't like people playing keepaway if they were good enough? Luckily I'm not good enough. :eng101: Plus why would I want to get near that hulking beast.

No, no. You're not at all like those slimy cowards that I despise. I'm refering to those that ONLY keepaway, regardless of what there against. Never go and dive straight into the battle. It's boring to watch and fight against. If anything, you were very aggressive and baiting everything I could do, I love it.

Nope. I wasn't holding back before. I'm just learning. :eng101:

Fancy + Netplay = Doesn't work so why the hell do i try it

But loud and clear. I can definitely do more safer match-closing stuff if needed be.

And no. People playing keepaway for Argent are players that get the life lead and don't care about negative warning, and fly around the stage without giving the Tager any chance of catching them. Case and point Hallelujah the Valkenhayn. ... not that hard to beat when you're not Tager I guess. >_>;;

GGs Kuraudo, mAc and Argent. Thanks for trying to help the hopeless.

Tagers, Tagers everywhere.

I was baiting so many 720s but Nombre never bit. ;_;

I think that NoNombre could benefit from a couple more 720s at more opportune moments.

Yeah, I was just gonna say. Don't be afraid to 720. You NEED to have it hanging over the other guy's head so they are afraid to go nuts on you. If you can bait them to rush into it, or catch them being too aggressive then it's fine to do.

I don't really use 720 vs people who know what they're doing. Either it simply doesn't come out (so frequent it hurts), comes out at the wrong time, or they're ready for it (as you can see by the ones I did use), so it gets filed in the "Hail Mary" folder.

I also feel kinda icky when I mash that and it does work.

That sorta IS the matchup though. I think I'm numb to runaway after so much Brawl though, so it doesn't bother me.

You know what's hilarious about runaway and Brawl? I main Sonic. I'm one of the better Sonic players in Canada (read one of the only OTL). I should be trying to time people out all the time because of my speed.

...but fuck that. I wanna fight. XD

You mean when I was Ragna? I am normally pretty aggressive with Hakumen but with Ragna I just do the "wait and see" neutral approach usually. But I like to hover just outside of Tager's range, so it's not running away like that.

It works pretty well on Hakumen too.

Nombre, you should still try to 720. Good players get hit by them too, and there are plenty of places where they will be gauranteed.

Like let's say Ragna rushes up to you while you're down in the corner and throws out a Dead Spike while he's magnetized. He just fucked up. You can get up and 720 him and he can't do anything about it.

Just don't do it from panic, do it with precision and a plan.

Also don't be afraid to use tick throws and 360s.

Oh and then there's just having punishes. Block Inferno Divider > go nuts, etc.

At least with Hakumen you could try to catch someone whose jumping high with Hotaru or something? IDK I'm probably talking nonsense since you're the Hakumen here.

To add on to what Mac just said, it's worth it to practice the motions and don't be afraid to lose until it's conditioned into you to do it right. Another good example? I would rush in occassionally with 5B. Sometimes it works, sometimes I get 720'd because of the immunity.

Oh! And by the way, Mac. I saw when you were Ragna (I know you're not using Ragna seriously but this is just a cool fact), but you can c.ID through the entirety of Tager's Tech Wheel by just rapidly using it as it continues to clash with the Tager's hits. You'll beat it. :P

[EDIT]

... Mac, weren't you supposed to try and right your sleeping habit?

I should be sleeping too for work tomorrow gdit.

Which is, of course, why I rapid'd right away when I saw the ID start up. Though, I believe you CAN cancel a clash with a backdash, so just mashing ID may be just as dangerous.

I'm still winding down. :P It's easier to get tired if my mind isn't active trying to win a game.

The MTW clash happens to me all the time but I'm usually too surprised by it.

By the way, did you think using 5C and such the way I was using it ended up being hard to deal with like I was saying.

Posted

It was unexpected. If you're on point and expecting when I attempted to poke you, it worked! It's hard to deal with, but ultimately continuous exposure to it will condition me to pick my battles better.
